Don't let tomorrow turn into NEVER!
Launch yourself on that next ENDEAVOR.
You are eternal and what you do now will live on FOREVER.
What you can do today, for tomorrow, don't LEAVE.
Just go out there and honorably wear your heart on your SLEEVE.
It doesn't matter if yesterday you didn't START.
Quiet your mind so you can lead with your HEART.
And watch as you daily transform yourself into a more beautiful work of ART.
The 'end' of this lifetime can be NEAR.
So do everything in your power now and without FEAR,
To not let tomorrow turn into never, as it is not quite promised and not yet HERE.
Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve
People wont understand what they see
Don’t leave your heart at someone’s feet
For that’s no place for it to be
Carry your heart before you
In the palm of your hand
And consult it every day
On those things for which you must take a stand
Your heart is half of you
But only half
But only half (C) 1986 Susan Manley
Lessons from the matchmaker
People always say,
Pour your heart out.
Wear your heart on your sleeve.
Give me your heart.
I want to protect my heart,
I don’t want it to pour out or be given away.
A heart on a sleeve is vulnerable
Breakable
Prone to leaking.
It’s easier to stay quiet,
To protect.
Keep your mouth shut so your heart can’t spill out.
But it’s lonely
To have a caged heart and closed mouth.
It’s quiet.
Some days I wish I could pour my heart out.
Be loud,
Be free.
Maybe if I let it all out it would stay out.
Who needs a heart that can hurt you?
Who needs a weakness on their sleeve?
Who needs a heart prone to spilling?
I guess me.
Let Them Judge You
When you stand up and speak for the things you believe,
Or you show what you feel; wear your heart on your sleeve.
When your thoughts and opinions don’t follow the crowd,
And you’re brutally honest and say it out loud…
Let them judge you.
When you work extra hours for no extra pay,
To ensure the job’s done by the end of the day.
When you cover a colleague who’s often off sick,
Or tolerate bosses who get on your wick…
Let them judge you.
When you finally snap cos it’s all got too tough,
And you throw in the towel and shout, “I’ve had enough!”
When you storm off and leave everyone in a daze,
Muttering and commenting about your odd ways…
Let them judge you.
Let them judge and opinionate, gossip and label.
Let them do everything better than you, if they’re able.
Let them build you up, put you down, doubt your ability.
Let them chatter and natter with puerile hostility…
Let them judge you.
You know who you are, for greater or lesser.
No need to retort or to be the aggressor.
Their thoughts, words and deeds will judge them in turn.
They are feeble, and immature and not your concern.
Guard your heart.
Don't give love away or the pain will smart and
your heart will fray..
Don't serve your heart on an open tray or some
may come and cart pieces away..
Keep open your heart to give and receive but
be smart and weed those there to deceive..
If you always wear your heart on your sleeve,
you may lose parts that you'll never retrieve..
Many are born with a silver spoon in the mouth
Some are just not happy of their birth
If one rightly thinks of how time flies in south
You will be grateful for thy breath
Keeping all hope only in enjoyment
Is a scam to blindfold one into over thinking
Possibly getting heart ready for deployment
To how his time could kick the bucket and go shrinking
Leave aside the shadow of thy former self
And wear your heart on your sleeve
Then you will joyfully swing the tough
Count your blessings and joys you will retrieve
Heart rejoices to the piece of cake at hand
Than the birds in bush, so show gratitude's grand
And everyone's chance of receiving more will expand
Life and love were disappointing
As you searched for a brand new start
And then this desperado came
And stole your quickly beating heart
The years flew by, those days and nights
As wants and dreams we'd see unfold
Through the ups, downs and sideways
We found ourselves start to grow old
You wear your heart on your sleeve
And let me know what's on your mind
I'm more reserved and bottle up
Feelings of which I'm consigned
Because you are so much younger
I'm concerned that you'll be happy
And hope you'll always think of me
As your lover and not your pappy!
February fourteenth, is not rare for love true to be shared.
In the middle ages they believe to wear your heart on your sleeve.
It could be said, this is the day for the most brilliant of colors red.
A special romantic person acknowledges you this day is most certain.
A day for love, in everyway is to be in full display on this glorious day.
Acceptance at a request, Be MY Valentine, is one of loves greatest conquest.
************ Puppy love Vs True Love ************
What an interesting journey it is
Thinking you know what love means
Feelings not familiar create desire deep within
Curiosity leads you naively to wear your heart on your sleeve
Life’s lessons whispered “Puppy Love” her echoes still dwell within
For all who are wise feel compelled to share their love tales “saying”
What you experiencing are mere waves in a vast ocean
Humbled by your embrace my true love
You my moon and I your sun
Our currents move in harmonic motion
Two souls intertwined reliving chemistry
Reminiscing times far older than our hosts at this time
Perfect balance in togetherness before, beyond in all eternity

Wear your heart on your sleeve
And continue on with your life
Your world is surrounded by clouds
Filled with confusion and strife
Your mother may be gone
But, you have to find a way to carry on
Never forget what she taught you
Pick yourself up and be heartstrong
Every time I see you my heart starts to race
when you try to pretend, just to save face
I know you feel the way that I do
cause I'm weird and clumsy just like you
You're tall and beautiful with rhythms and curls
with a beauty inside not seen in most girls
you wear your heart on your sleeve, and try to hide from me
but your feelings are obvious and plain to see
don't worry what others might think or say
because to me you're perfect in every way.
Love is war but it’s worth the scar
Love is defined by who we are
Go after it with all of your might
See it to the end and never give up the fight
Don’t loose to fear or succumb to loves combat
I know deep down your stronger than that
Meet your opponent on the open field
Wear your heart on your sleeve as your own shield
Take them down don’t run and hide
Beat them off with your feelings from inside
Don’t loose to fear or succumb to loves combat
I know deep down your stronger than that
If your love is true fate will win at the end of the day
Your sweetheart will run to you in there own way
Why would you give up on the one you love
Defeat who ever stands in your way and thank god up above
Don’t loose to fear or succumb to loves combat
I know deep down your stronger than that
So Glad We Can Finally Meet, Carolyn Devonshire
By Rick Rucker
Entry in the "First Words Over Coffee" contest
I am glad that we can finally meet,
I love your poetry, and your comments, sweet,
You seem a woman that loves hard,
Not surprising from so talented a bard,
You seem to wear your Heart on your sleeve,
A surefire formula to grieve,
You seem so open, with no regret,
A way that I would like to get,
You were a source of fascination,
Meeting you, a revelation!
My eyes have seen the unimaginable
So horrible that they've kept me up for weeks
The whispers and screams of a loved one
The child's tears stream down, resulting a weep
Running to grab an outstretched arm
Only to fail and fall to your death
Screaming for one who will not come
And dying as you breathe your last breath
Knowing that you will never be loved
And you wear your heart on your sleeve
And only to be take advantage of
While you die inside as you watch them leave
None has felt a pain like this
And no one will ever know
How painful this life lesson is
To not let emotions show
