From flattery to sycophancy

From a favourite spoon or pet,
AI’s turned to cutlery set.
From wholesale flattery,
To flat sycophancy,
To queries, easy balls to bat.
From a fish-catching stork,
From plain spoon to warped fork,
True pet nor yet vigilant cat.

Note: A study reveals that AI, ‘agreeing much more than not, sucks up to people’. Even more than people sucks up to each other in face of vested interest. Their answers often border on sheer flattery. Its performance much below the expectations. It seems to have promised much more than can deliver.

Read All About It

I can't bring myself
to read the front page news
with which they string us along
as portrayed by the views
of those with a vested interest
or the rest with an axe to grind
who must think we're all
just deaf dumb and blind
to the truth of which there's more
in the speech balloons
of the funny characters
in the Sunday cartoons
they're merely a means of selling
ink-stained pulp derived from wood
it's all a waste of paper
other than those comic strips
and really only good
for wrapping fish and chips

Shut Up

So tired of the TV talking heads
twisting every word that's said
much of it scripted
and has to be read
they don't even have a vested interest
only putting their mouth
where the money is at best
my advice to them...
'If you have nothing useful to add,
Mum's the word
don't drive us mad,
keep it under wraps
stow it under your hat,
put a lid on it
or a cork in it,
zip your lips,
spare us the hot air,
it's a verbal Sirocco and, in all likelihood,
an ill wind that blows no one any good.'

Understanding Vested Interest

My vested interest is in keeping communities intact
My vested interest is in keeping some spaces green,
My vested interest is in keeping the fraudsters away,
My vested interest is in keeping obesity in check,
My vested interest is in keeping gambling in check,
My vested interest is in teaching consequences in school,
My vested interest is in keeping conversation alive,
My vested interest is in finding reason to hope.

Understanding we all have vested interests,
Is one of the many steps on the path towards wisdom.
Understanding vested interests when dealing with others,
Is a helpful tool,
When working towards closing a deal.
Understanding vested interests can prevent us being ripped off,
Understanding vested interests in international relations,
May reduce the likelihood of war,
Understanding vested interests are what makes the world go round,
May help when it is time to cast a vote,
Or when you want to know who is stirring the pot.
Understanding vested interest will definitely help,
In making and keeping friendships alive,
And children out of trouble.

America 4

A party political war is always ensued
Mostly to protect the few not what's best
Even if it is in the vested interest for all
Remember the founding father's dream
I chose this nation be full of dream chasers
Constitution are guidelines not mose's tablets
America time for a new dawn awake now

Premium Member Whoredoms

In halls of governance the elected rule
by vested interest and insider rort,
and when last ballots are cast me and you’ll
be no wiser whose allegiance is bought.

In jurist action lawyers plead their case
as God is their witness on the bible swore,
but justice has a price and has a face
and you will pay both in a court of law.

On dark lit streets prostitutes bend their rack
risking life and liberty at each leer -
that screwing whore on her uncovered back
robs us only of a ride paying fare.

Three whoredoms and three professions,
  all confessors of seedy confessions.
But what that pro does to us all hot and wet
the other two do every chance they get!

Premium Member Failing the Truth

Failing the truth caused by deceitful heart
I do pray for illumined vision glow
radiating light of Scriptures’ rampart
toward perspective against falsehood blow.

Confessing personal biases’ blight
failing the truth caused by deceitful heart
I seek God’s pardon from arrogance-delight
gripped by selfishness-hypocrisy dart.

Aware of preference right from the start
I do admit own vested interest
failing the truth caused by deceitful heart
thus, trusting the Lord’s guidance is still best.

Respecting others through Christ’s love in view
my spirit reaches out for grace impart
striving not to wear vain empathy shoe
failing the truth caused by deceitful heart*.

Premium Member Scatology - Another Poop Poem

So my poems may not be perfect
And some of them don’t even rhyme
I write about poop and farting
But scatology is not a crime

I don’t know a person who has never done a pooh
So I’ll continue to write poems about going to the loo

On a serious note bowel cancer has killed three of my dad’s family
So I’ll always have a vested interest on the topic of scatology

Are We Really Friends

First time
 I meet you
 You meet me
 And we become friends,
 With no vested interest ,
We never knew each other before.

 Second time
 I meet you
 You meet me
 With vested interest
I share my bread with you
You share your bread with me,
 We exchange gifts and ideas
 And we become best friend

 Third time
 I meet you
 You meet me
 But this time
 No sharing of bread
No exchange of gifts and ideas
And we become the worst enemy.

A Transitory Existence, An Eternal Quintessence

My tenant body constitutes a lease,
A rented fabric owed to landlord Time,
From smoothened silk to wrinkled leather’s crease,
This shuttled thread is bound in deed to grime.
My mind he stakes a vested interest in,
Its vibrancy is forced perforce to fade,
The stain of Lethe’s dull oblivion
Shall wash and sink this mind in murky shades.

Immortal dyes Arachne used to draw,
(While mortals die unraveled, naked, sheared)
Her strings contested Nature’s with their awe,
Art’s golden wool outwears the looming Weirds.
This trunk of life is tailored for a fashion,
Yet timeless wove is art’s transcendent passion.

Sacrificial Lamb

Not all news of its existence brings joy –
a heartbeat is denied the trumpets
instead, news is shared in long drawn
out breaths with eyes that never dry.

A vow was broken long before –
Those nights, when they turn off the light
a silence is broken amidst long sighs.

A creature of habit learns in time certain
vested interest will come to be expected;
promises are forgotten in the dark.

But this is unexpected news; now the light
need no longer be turned off every night.

The weeping stops when a decision is made;
she finds that self-sacrifice does not extend
beyond the sanctity of life. A creature
of habit learns hypocrisy the hard way.

Ask Me Not For Knowledge

When I become human being
I stop seeking knowledge from another one
As I know they are driven by strong emotions
And their every act is politically motivated
Under each and every spreading hand
They hide their vested interest
‘’How?’’ Ask me not,
Ask the Greek, the great
‘’Are you all self sufficient?’’
Exactly not,
Ask the trees they will teach you a lot,
As I look to the sky and learn how to be humble
With all the glory of height
 And to be remain unbiased
I learn from the rain
 Even in the time when
Wind blows from the opposite direction
With all the width and depth the ocean
Tells me how to remain calm and quite
Despite all the provocations
 Hovered all around
You may ask the Everest
How to keep your backbone straight
No matter how hard blows the blizzard
You may ask the pigeons too
How to run your family and rare your children
As I watch the crows
How they bury the dead bodies
 Of their kith and kin
I am too ashamed
Ask me not to go for advices
To a human being .

PLEASE PASS THE SWEETBREAD

With sorrow tomorrow I will say fare thee well
As I be headed for the intestines of hell
A demon misdirected to be duly digested
While his fortitude and factor of fear is fully tested
With a vested interest in indecency and indiscretion
While involved in an iniquitous insurrection
A sinner sought by sordidness and the vengeance of tomorrow
No beggar but a being who prefers to rob rather than borrow

Just a junkie jousting with justice, judgment and condemnation

A soul aligned with the maligned yet suffering alienation
A spirit spited by speciousness and spurious allegations
And when asked if he feels like human waste he will nod in affirmation
For thus is this the me my mother never meant for me to be
And as for my father he was never very fatherly

And so it is I’ve come to this
A last resort for a lack of bliss
The final toll of a well-worn bell
As I am insidiously and insistently ingested by the intestines of hell
