Premium MemberHaibun Heaven or Hell

At early dawn, me lying supine on my non - mowed lawn in happy mood.
I am relaxing under bright Sun and clean clear cerulean sky enjoying
morning beauty of environ. Cheerful sparrows and sterlings to chirp
and prance. Morning dews are glistening on wild glass blades. Swift
squirrel is climbing up and coming down. Slow snail is crawling silent with
single foot. In gentle breeze, tiny feral flowers are nodding heads in fun.

Everything is running smooth and fine in fresh morning.
Fluttering wings flying butterflies are visiting blossoms. Cute kittens are
playing joyfully at a corner. I am sensing serene sublime ecstatic state.
Suddenly a grass hopper settles on tip of grass. A prompt chameleon
doesn’t miss the chance to attack and swallows up. My heavenly bliss at
once turns in melancholy sinking in hell.

    nature acts ruthless ~
      prey and predator to run
           simultaneous.

The sun is up and coming in the morning,
The moon is waving me a sad goodbye,
The dawn of our solution,
Is cleaning our pollution,
With optimal collusion as we fry.

I wonder as I wander in the sun bright,
Why creatures of the shadows run and hide,
Perhaps they know the story,
Of nature's morning glory,
Is sleeping when the day is hot outside.

The dew is on the lawn of our contentment,
The butterfly is talking to the bees,
The bog is like a buddy,
Because the hog is muddy,
And all the birds are flocking in the breeze.

Premium MemberWe Became Who We Were Not

First it made me curious
Then it turned to furious
That men disguised as women
Could claim they were victorious

For in our youth the teams we chose
Did not measure length of hose
Some girls were chosen, often first
Cuz we picked from best to worst

There were no signs, no chanting fans
No up and coming also rans
Cardboard bases, tarmac field
No one to make the traffic yield

We became who we were not
In that tarmac parking lot
We became who we were not
And none of us were ever caught

Who Wrote This Poem

There was a man:

He Rob the bank

And stole the cash

He shot a tank

And off he dash.

Across the street

And Into the town

He ran bare feet

Like a funny clown ??

The BBC never saw his face

The radio house never heard his voice

The papers had a blank space

The witness were all false.

Up and coming

I wrote with pen

Now everyone is asking

Who wrote this poem.

Resting In His Spirit

The one thing that has stayed present all year long...
Is the idea in my head that He has given me my song...
To give praise and admonishment where ever I go...
I will rest in His spirit of that I surely know...
For He is the peace in the good and the bad...
And my comforter in the happy and sad...
I pray that in this up and coming year...
You each find His promises offered down here...
And that is His arms open wide waiting to give a show of love...
As well as a heart that reaches down from Heaven above...
Giving hope in the miracles He does create...
To convince us to rest in His spirit fully while our souls He does await.

Premium MemberPortrait of An Up-And-Coming Young Lady

Many are her faces
Wry, sly, a twinkle in her eye
        Gregarious, oft-times hilarious
          Not easily intimidated, yet shy...

        Serious, without dreariness
          Considerate, deliberate, AI-literate
Caring, sharing, even a tad daring
Her pronouns ~ Me, myself, and I

Premium MemberFlingin

It’s Spring Fling today - an all-day campus concert with some up-and-coming music acts. We’ll be out there, in the rain if we have to, we're determined and somewhat waterproof. We went out earlier, doing a scan for friends to find seats and place stuff to hold our spot.

What, up until now, have been notes of preparation for summer move-out, will become a symphony tomorrow - after my last final - I’ll be a sophomore then, I suppose.

Peter has to check an experiment he’s working on. He hugs me and heads out.
“He’s so hot,” Anna observes, “he makes me think about sex, and you know what - YES!”
“You can have him," I say, "he’s too tall - and besides - he’s friending-down, with me.” I admit.
“I like him,” Lisa says, “he doesn’t complain or disapprove of things.”
“He’s the modern man,” Anna says, dreamily.
“And he’s REALLY good at kissing games.” I confide, grinning like a creepy boy, to make them jealous. They all made various noises that piggybacked and incorporated into one coherent gagging sound.

A Kid Among Age-Comers

He's up and coming, yuppie humming,
Down and puppy low.
He's high and drying, dancefloor-flying,
Under miles of snow.
We love him, we love him, we want him to be fine,
Want him hanging from his legs inside the sucker's vine.
He's jungle crawling, urban sprawling,
Wedged tween grizzled stone.
The horror high windows, dark doors jackdawed,
Bus-pass rattled bones.
Dance boy dance,
in the carriage of the cage,
Run carnage round the turkey-neck track.
Sing boy sing,
Do as you should be doing,
Climb headless up the cracks of the cash sack.
A new kipper to whip,
New boy to toy with,
A new fellow in town without nowt.
Nowt but his learnings,
Big feels and small earnings,
And a small voice with which he can't shout.
He's up and coming, yuppie humming,
Got so far to go.
He's high and drying, dancefloor-flying,
Alone in dark lane, all aglow.

A Bunch of Tough Cookies

Sometimes life's a competition of how far we can throw,
Or simply having the greatest mind to win an intelligence show.
Certainly, there is still one thing to know,
Even the toughest or smartest of man contains a piece of his heart that is soft as dough.

The variety of flavors and sizes we come in are wide and plentiful.
Underneath our regenerating skin is one pretty tough skull,
As we are all created from a genetic code that was once considered a solid whole.
Now remember each and every one of us contains a different life goal,
And even the craziest of extremes can seem like someone else's version of dull.

Even if we are children for the first time learning the ABC's,
Or possibly someone who has spent a lifetime beating up their knees.
Somewhere there is an expert teaching the up and coming rookies,
As the fact will always remain that we are all just a bunch of tough cookies.

Did Deduce Should Declare a Truce

talked a lot of trash
up and coming ogden nash
hit on Broadway big smash

rode in a cute coach
which is where she lost her broach
eaten by big roach

what we did deduce
did want to declare a truce
instead hung in a noose

we have God to blame
In God's eyes we are the same
saved us from sin and shame

from God we were made
there in cradle Son had laid
in water would wade

what we did realize
Jesus John Baptist did baptize
beneath pale and blue skies

Mary was Holy
Jesus was God's one and only
Prayed to them when lonely

As a last resort
God did give me much support
my sins out did sort

The 70s Kids

We are the crying children of the 70’s,
not much changes inside ‘other than knowing better now ,what undoubtedly would have been the keys to the kingdom back then .

We are the innocent generation of comic trusting gullibility ‘the worry of our world and blame For its care or lack of ‘now placed firmly upon us .

We are the children of an era where life ‘as a fact was better and way more safe in the groove that we knew as the 70’s.

We are the trapped children sentenced to incarceration? in adult bodies,
no one speaks of our future anymore, only that of the up and coming millennials who flee willingly to adulthood ‘only to find out to late their folly .

We are the crying children of the 70’S ?

The Rebel Because

Weird things make me happy
The man who talks more with his hand than mouth
The child walking a broken wall
as if upon a tightrope
The puddle spray that reddens the suited business man
The rebel because
The universe flaws
the he that follows the haws
The intertwined fingers of blackened trees
lost within the blanketed darkness
Softened showers simper under summer sprays
Mountain meld with midnight's melancholy moans
Up and coming comeuppance
Karma shows it face

Premium MemberChanging Rooms

She wants to go out shopping, to find that perfect dress,
For the up and coming function, you know, the one she must impress.
But sat outside her changing room which happens quite a lot,
I’m staring at my feet like I’m waiting to be shot.

So that got me thinking about the guys who must endure,
This embarrassing dilemma as they gaze upon the floor,
That it would be rather splendid if the shop would just provide
A fifty inch tv screen with some beer upon the side.

I can imagine the astonishment, on match day, as we shout,
‘Are we going shopping love?’ and she asks ‘what’s this about?’
‘Well the run up to the game means I have to get my spot,
So the guys are buying dresses or hadn’t you forgot?’

End of the Day

The sun is setting on another day

Another hard grind it's just the way

I see the colours up in the sky

Pinks and purples, orange all beautiful by design

I sit and watch at this wonderful aspect of life

I see the moon readying itself

To shine a light now the sun has gone down

I am awaiting stars to appear up in the sky

I am awe struck by the up and coming night

And I see amazing things through my sight

And relishing the delight of everything.

Here I sit and dwell on a hillside

And all is well

Meditating on the combining night

Breathing in nature

And breathing out love

Breathing in goodness

Breathing out light

Seeing the universe

Created by my mind

Living this glorious life defined

By the duality of dark and light

Of sunlight and moonlight

Of day and night

It's time too appreciate this night and life.

Premium MemberDark Dirt

Fertile incestuous rootbound
Plants flourish in the darkest stuff
Seeds planted spring coming round
Winters' cold and snowing tough

Bulbs of flowers sprigs of weeds
Up and coming in the spring
Mother Natures' Godfelt deeds
Shoots of color when the Larks' sing

Flourish of beauty dreams of sun
Melting snow icicles hang from above
Summers' coming beaches of fun
Fires crackling moods of love

And here I lay covered in wool
Dreaming of sand and sun
Fires' flickering stomachs full
Beaches are close so is the fun.
