Unknowingness Poems

empty

the hole you left in my chest
a seed of unknowingness
slowly growing across my breast
engulfing me and whatever’s left
inside this vast nothingness

a void devoid of your presence
an inevitable evanescence
leaving only the essence
of longing depressants

SILENT HOMES

SILENT HOMES

Silence
            cloak of protection
worn longing for
                            heaven
sways in dust
                      settles
wistful
        plays hide
                   then seek

              walks valleys of unknowingness
and solitary alleys
                 naked wounds
                                  shatter silence
of wounded birds

                peeping through
torn curtains
                 hiding under unlaundered
sheets

               those that witnessed
boiling water
      screams

        the terror of
war
          in silent
homes

Silence writes
                       letters
to itself
           never posts
           them

they become
                      tears soaking
            floral pillow

     Silence goes to work

next day
                Nothing
happened

Just a mouldy sandwich
in
       her desk
                  drawer

Premium MemberResting in unknowingness

Our mind may know or it may not
What’s knowledge got to do with us
What is thought but a narrow slot
Birthing but dark fears that nonplus

Here on earth for a brief sojourn
We need the mind and senses five
But soul’s fire that in heart does burn
Is God’s light that keeps us alive

It matters not how fast we drive
Or the quantum of our net worth
What counts is soul’s light we revive
That has our heart bubbling in mirth

Where I Am Free

WHERE I AM FREE

My freedom lies beyond
the cloud of unknowingness
beyond mists of time where
I disappear into olive groves
which furl and unfurl in slow dawns

Here there are no gates
latches or rusty keys
nobody entices with tickets
to a show and gala gifts
dark chocolate or apple orchards

Where I am free translucent dragonflies
and red quilts are escaping memories
rooms filled with roses and ferns
or silky scarves do not exist
promises evaporate as steam

Desires for dancing legs
warm marrow, wet kisses or
tears, scars are packaged
like data bits with grapevines
Angels appear only to take a peep

Where I am free I do not exist
There dwells what you seek
and what you seek is an
illusion of Light which lives then
dies in milliseconds of ecstasy

To touch it is to orchestrate
melodies as a harmony of
unknown instruments to
convey Creation’s glances

Not all can come
where I am free !

No mind or body in the Ethers--
continuance, a breath of cool air.
No thoughts penetrate, and neither
beauty nor wisdom can function there.

Is this motionless place without soul,
or the substance from which souls emerge?
Perhaps it's unending love extolled,
where unknowingness is at last purged.

Is it the place where forever thrives,
with spirits in boundless synergy?
In breathless quiet, sudden sparks appear:
beginning movement and energy.

Surely, this must be the in-between space,
moments to grasp as all time stands still.
Its gentle hold resurrects our souls,
a new life begins with dreams to fill.

Premium MemberAllegory of Falling In Love

Poetry notebook in my jittery hand, I vacillate
what if she finds it dull… obtuse…
   beneath her... culturally insensitive?
What if she laughs at its pathos,
   groans at its length,
   smirks at its earnestness?
As I begin to falter, I ask myself
(denying all the aching echoes of indifference)
how much could it possibly hurt if she doesn't like it?
Could I ever forgive myself if I chicken out?
As my internal arguments fire torpedoes at each other,
   she begins to walk away.

Incensed at my cowardice, I detect a gravitational pull
impelled by the bonfire of urgency
lit by a lightning bolt of past meltdowns
I take a step of infinite unknowingness, and clear my throat
"Hi, I'm in your writing class…
might I ask for a brief moment of your time?"
   ...silence.
She glances at my poem, then stares into my eyes -
stretched between two souls is an imaginary tightrope
leveling her balancing pole, she slowly smiles…
"I thought you'd never ask"

Premium MemberWedding Day Blues

My wedding day is special because

I stalked the prey
baited the trap
lured her unsuspectingly
out of the thicket
into the openness of love.
Circled stealthily her resistance
creeping ever closer,
listening to the thunder
of her beating heart,
feasting on the scent
of her unknowingness.

Slowly – ever quietly –
romancing the moment,
etching into memory
every blade of grass,
change of wind,
hint of distrust.

She gazed at me,
sun glinting off the towers
of a future’s distance,
awaiting fates moment.

I sprang forward
terrified at her acceptance
of my pursuit.

I had set the trap
for her
and walked right into it.

Old Man's Hands

They were once fine,
long-fingered and aristocratic:
photographed resting lightly
on a model's shoulder
as she wore a mink
while clutching a Gucci.

In childhood they played
like all kids' hands play:
clutching, grabbing, throwing,
waving to unseen allies
while fighting to a gory death
hordes of relentless foes.

In manhood they sought
to caress a woman's flesh
rather than play throw and catch...
they explored the wondrous nooks
and crannies with hunger and hesitancy,
always joyfully losing themselves
in her eternal unknowingness.

They were mighty then,
the hands of a young god,
giving pleasure in equal measure
to its taking...
but now their skin lies cracked and
shrieking of seven decades--
the fingers are bending like old trees
succumbing finally to the brutal wind,
with knobs sprouting from joints
and a low pain taking up a permanent
and most uninvited residence....

Wine-Dark

I am cautious
slightly anxious
mildly noxious
truly selfish

Trapped in blandness
so dangerous
unknowingness
I am toxic

With a wine-dark mood
I stifle my laugh
resisting a blush
conceding too much

This Is How I See You

The softness of your being;
the effervesence of your presence;
perfectly composed and untroubled;
(This is how I see you)

Easy going surrounds you like sucklings
under their mothers wings;
quiet; undisturbed; breathing easy;
(This is how I see you)

Your misterious countenence manifests it's beauty quietly;
yet the soundlessness of it all speaks so loud,
Like piercing soundwaves into the universe shattering barriers,
(This is how I see you)

Like an unsolved puzzle you are baffling;
sending me into millennials of unknowingness
wisking me into heights of unconscienceness;
You stump me...
(This is how I see you)

Patience danceses around you like red in a wild fire
unable to contain itself ,nor allow anyone else to put it out;
It just burns..
(This is how I see you)

You, I could see you in my world for an eternity;
and together we would break barriers
that seperate you and me; we would share
the sweet silence together just you and me;
we would just love so easy;
(This is how I see you..and me)
