They Know Us Best By Our Behavior

We think our thoughts may be relevant.
We share them by speaking to others.
We expose them to others through poetry,
But they’re known to others best through our behavior.

does everyone else understand bird speak

the birds’ conversation is lively and fast
do the trees understand?
what about the long grasses and the violets?
Is everyone in the know?
the mosses? the dandelions? the ivy?
Does everybody understand bird speak except me?

Dreams

Every wonder where they come from?
I’m just glad that I still get some.
Sometimes they’re pleasant and seem good,
sometimes vague and misunderstood.

At times they’re funny or bizarre,
like riding on a shooting star.
Often it seems they’re teaching me,
past life lessons I didn’t see.

Sometimes one seems like dejavu,
in another time I was you.
Then there was one, I wasn’t

DIFFERENT THINGS TO UNDERSTAND

I wish we were blessed to realize we are ALL human beings
everyone on this planet is related to one another…
because we are human beings in name only
when we choose to ignore the suffering 
of any of our sisters or our brothers.

She was born a girl but inner heart she knows she is a boy 
and thus spends much of her young life life straddling the edge of joy. 

And it’s no different for him…in the same way his life unfurls…
as he was born a boy but in his heart he knows he is a girl.
