Premium MemberBallad for the Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube-Man

air rockets skyward
uppercutting inside
plastic neon flesh
contorting at inhuman angles
what does my body language spell?

ankles anchored into the Earth
to stay grounded as the wave
of time and space crashes
a flood of stagnant flux

there is a symphony of bones
snapping and cracking
in twisted orchestrations
the act of existing for me
is a resilient demonstration

Revenge of You Tube

You tube is a way to see
Others acting so crazy
But I never thought I'd find
Me falling on my behind
It was quite a funny show
All because I didn't know
Someone spiked my "virgin" drink
Who was this obnoxious fink
Getting me drunk without knowing
My craziness would soon start showing
As I took to the bar stage
In a dancing fit of rage
Moves that should be called illegal
Took me over as I peel
Off the layers till my naked
Body is no longer sacred
It hits me what I have done
I'm too drunk to flee and run
So I fall onto the ground
Everybody all around
Is posting my embarrassment
When I find who started this
My revenge will be so sweet
You tube will be on repeat
With the ridicule they get
And lessons they will not forget

Premium MemberA Second Chance

A second chance is always there
As God is offering us a second chance
Like vaccination,organ transplant
And test-tube baby
A hope and life is always there
Let's thank the scientists and so God
For the salvation and contribution
For the greatness,devotion and love
Ever found on earth
To fight the devils and the evils

Premium MemberTube Pee Or Not Tube Pee

To the bathroom, quick I raced.
I threw the cabinet wide in haste
To see what’s in that tube of paste.
It’s not that I am pure or chaste,
But I’ve not yet acquired that taste.
Yellow #1 dye? It’s in the waste…

Flash Flood Warning

aka
Terry's Rush Hour Tube Trauma

A voice rose from a burning bush,
"O feel the contours of my tush!
Ounce for ounce
Cheeks will bounce
With just an itty-bitty push!"

Premium MemberU-Tube Is the New Career of Choice

I will not need math or such
I’ll be a U-tuber, the eight-year-old informs me.
I’ll be rich and famous, and live in a mansion.

What will you be doing on U-tube? I ask.
It doesn’t matter, she says. I’ll be a billionaire.
I admire her optimism.

But what kinds of things will you plan?
I don’t have to plan. I can do whatever I want, she lets me know.
I admire her confidence.

I watched a guy on U-tube yesterday,
walk through his day, saying dumb things.
My fourteen-year-old grandson thought he was hilarious.
“He is a millionaire,” he told me.
I think the eight-year-old has it right.

You should never watch the six o'clock news
Nothing happy there, just more singing the blues
Bout who's threatening who
Or a mass killing or two
Just sit back and watch reruns, your honey and you

Mommy I Don'T Want To Die

“Mommy, mommy!” I desperately scream at 4, longing for comfort in her welcoming arms.
We are watching a film about the circle of life. The movie showed the sheep at birth all the way to its final stages. Snot puffs out of my young nostrils like the smoke in grandma’s cigarette. My heart is racing in absolute panic as I bounce my knee up and down and shake uncontrollably. “I don’t want to die!” I shout in distress.
And 10 years later I am once again in my mother’s arms, yet all frail and bony like an ancient mummy in an Egyptian sarcophagus. I am laying on my brittle hospital bed with my exhausted eyes blinking even slower than a salted snail. I touch my nose and wince, as my feeding tube is 3 sizes too big. I can hear the whirring of the pump admitting into my stomach with nutrition I was convinced was unnecessary. And with strained breaths and my lips drier than the Sahara Desert, I make out the words “M..mommy?”
“Will you let me die?”

It’s crazy how times can change.

Premium MemberThe Victoria Line

hanging straps and travel apps.
beeping doors and littered floors.
rocking cars and metal bars.
rattling track and aching back.
ticket fare and lack of air.
bags on lap and 'mind the gap'.
heavy heat now WARREN STREET:

Way Out.
Places.
Platform spaces.
Cell Phones. Faces.
Adverts every too few paces.

Noone cares.
Moving stairs.
Subway guards.
Oyster cards.
Helping hands.
Busking bands.

'mind the gap' and spirit sap.
crowded floors and beeping doors.
metal bars and jolt of cars.
blank outside and rush hour ride.
there and back and rattling track.
subway maps and hanging straps.
lights and dark and now GREEN PARK:

Way Out.
Places.
Platform spaces.
Cell Phones. Faces.
Adverts every too few paces.

Noone cares.
Moving stairs.
Subway guards.
Oyster cards.
Helping hands.
Busking bands.

Concrete steps to other lands.

Premium MemberYou Tube Kazoo

Elmer Fudd learned how to play the kazoo
He felt he needed to do something new
   First he would inhale
   Then he would turn pale
Oops! His kazoo was a You Tube taboo

Tube Robots

The corrugated clang and creak of the escalator
Welcomes murmurs of lovers entwined in conversation
The lilted quick chatter of tourists
Interrupted by those racing- no regard for bags, or backpacks or babies.

Mechanically they step on and off
Fever is in their eyes
To get on, sit somewhere, go some place
Sometimes they push, like children in the playground

On the platform my plait snaps in the air
Wind lifts and tugs tendrils, teasing
The madness of monotony
Rattles insistently
Like the great beast on the tracks
Hurtling towards me

Premium MemberYou Can Put Anything On U-Tube

They are speaking about their U-Tube channels.
One says he makes about fifty bucks a month with his.
I am amazed, not seeing him as a singer, dancer, or entertainer.
What do you put on your channel? I ask him.

All of these fifth grade boys begin shaking their faces in high laughter
Making me pretty sure I wish I had not asked this question.
You can put anything on them he tells me. My first check was seven fifty.
Seven dollars and fifty cents? He shakes his head pleased.

What did you put on it? I ask him again.
Well.... All the other boys throw back their heads and laugh again.
One of them is a video about my forehead.
What did it do? Pretty much everything. They are on the floor dying now
With pure silly laughter.

U-tube, here I come.
