U-Tube Is the New Career of Choice

I will not need math or such
I’ll be a U-tuber, the eight-year-old informs me.
I’ll be rich and famous, and live in a mansion.

What will you be doing on U-tube? I ask.
It doesn’t matter, she says. I’ll be a billionaire.
I admire her optimism.

But what kinds of things will you plan?
I don’t have to plan. I can do whatever I want, she lets me know.
I admire her confidence.

I watched a guy on U-tube yesterday,
walk through his day, saying dumb things.
My fourteen-year-old grandson thought he was hilarious.
“He is a millionaire,” he told me.
I think the eight-year-old has it right.

Possibly. What ARE these kids thinking? I wonder, sometimes, if this U-Tube stuff is merely a fad, like CBs?

Automatic F as far as I'm concerned. Do they think they'll always have access to Google when they need one of the tables? Dumb!

Today's 3rd graders refuse to memorize the multiplication tables. "We can look them up on Google" they say. SHEEZ!

it is nuts. This guy was acting like a drugged out teenager, saying "this is my locker, this is my table, here is my cat," and my grandson was on the floor clutching his stomach laughing as if this guy was the second coming.
