The human nature touched the divine nature on the hills.
The cliffs, rocks, and boulders were full of beatific thrills.
The future of your coming was seen in the present form.
Glorification of the crucifixion shone in the warm storm.
Veils of illusions vanished. The ultimate truth was revealed.
Covenant between the father, son, and spirit was sealed.
Hearts flew and minds touched the heavens of immortality.
Temporal tentative truths tossed the triviality.
All we see are not total truths. The truth treads far ahead.
We merge with the endless elements. Our ego is shed.
Elijah and Moses revealed the riddles of Mount Sinai.
Change of form and shape of physique and psyche spiralled high.
Talking of pitching tents there, disciples were mesmerized.
The meaning of existence here on earth seemed summarized.

Can the church experience Mount Transfiguration?
Can we experience Mount Transfiguration?
Where glory fills this holy place
Where miracles happen with every embrace!
A glowing glory, a heavenly fire,
Guiding worship, inspiring desire.
Glory fills from every mount top,
Praise heard from every roof top!
Creative miracles, and healings increase,
Emerge in this sanctified rendezvous.
From brokenness, beauty does arise,
Life's experience woven with heavenly ties.
For myriads of angels now ushering in the glory
The fire of God, prepares us to be carriers of glory
For the fire of the Holy Spirit, is His presence tangible
For His manifest presence is His glory made visible.

the vultures circle overhead as we burn
awaiting with stoic patience their turn
to feed off residue we need no more
which will soon be washed ashore
thus in the natural order of things
the caterpillar having grown wings
looks not back at the dead chrysalis
for it now sips heavenly nectar of bliss

I guess, next to actual
transfiguration, writing
is closest I will ever come
to sainthood. Not that
everything about me
needs correcting, the
old nun would scold me
with a suspicious smile –
for more than once I saw
her sneak a candy from her
top desk-draw, just before
lunch, and the Sacrament
of Grace...
I forgave her
with a smile....

Transfiguration
This scriptured event
Is our common experience..
We stand alone
On the mountaintop
Knowing our Self..
With due respect to our
Teachers standing on our
Left and on our Right..
Standing alone births
The Freedom introduced
By teachers remembered
But only really known
As we stand alone...

transfiguration
is a recognition
awaiting each of us..
a recognition
of who we are..
we remember our teachers
on our left and our right
our journeys of searching
in past times..
searching the world for
peace past understanding
that only comes with recognition
of who we truly are..
arriving now.. directly..
effortlessly.. as that which
has always been there
embracing our journey...

This is the day that flattened the city:
shock wave, clothes burnt off;
“This is what they have done, tell everyone.”
Radiation penetrating into sickness
> sterility.
That was the day when all was laid waste.
This is the day they stood up on the mount:
awed, as His clothes shone.
“This is my beloved Son, listen to him.”
Radiance transfiguring, three with One worshipped
> fruitfully.
That was the day which uplifted mankind.
Now is the time for faith to hold on:
declared to be heard;
“This is the light of the world, behold Him.”
Vesture of truth shining, penetrates, conceiving
> fertility.
Now is the time for peace rising.

Yesterday Was Transfiguration Sunday
Did you know that there are three heavens?
Was at St. James Episcopal, Shallotte, NC
listening to sermon yesterday.
Father Bob Hobgood said that we might,
Be awakened by God in middle of night;
Poems will appear,
So nice and near;
With ideas and thoughts did have a flight.
When I awoke in the middle of the night,
Of poems would appear their very sight;
After I adulated,
Poems created;
Did start writing down with pure delight.
Beneath roof of barn in cradle Jesus lays,
While outside in field flock of sheep graze;
No longer a slave,
Our praise we gave,
All things about our Jesus truly did amaze.
Remember time there was a transfiguration,
And in every nation had been much elation;
Light grew and grew;
Was Jesus we knew;
We ended up with an incredible celebration.

I walked alone at break of dawn
No one to comfort me.
I stood forlorned, ragged and scorned
Doomed to obscurity.
I cried aloud but yet the shroud
Of time that covered me
Left me beguiled from all exiled
Throughout this life to be.
Ah never more a distant shore
Shall ever my feet trod.
Until at last from this world past
I lie beneath the sod.
For then the shroud of times dark cloud
Lifted for aye shall be.
Tho born a knave when in the grave
I'll put on Royalty.
I shall in time, this soul of mine,
Upon a distant shore
Walk on with Kings where never clings
The shroud of time no more.

Revelation in its plainest form,
Glory revealed before the naked eyes;
To whom is this understanding granted?
Oh behold Him on the mount of holiness—
Oh behold the transfigured Christ!
A brightness beyond the sun's compare,
Yet visible to the eyes of the beloved;
Of them that are born of a woman,
None indeed is greater than John the Baptist;
But of a truth in the Kingdom of God,
The least of the heirs are greater than he!
Peter, always in a hurry to speak,
Thought it wise to build three thrones:
One each for the Lord, Moses, and Elijah;
If only he knew with Whom he stood—
That no one can ever be equal with Him!
The Light that shines the brightest,
The Tabernacle not made with hands;
Yet the humblest and loveliest of them all,
Who came to redeem a world of darkness.
Revelation in its most naked frame,
Redemption before the blindest eyes;
To whom is this understanding granted?
Oh behold the Saviour of the world...
On The Mount of Transfiguration.

Transfiguration
Certain things appear to be triggered
When a person has been transfigured;
A radiance was seen on Jesus's face
After receiving God's glory and grace,
And about all this we were beleaguered.

It was the day of the Lords' transfiguration
The disciples could not believe their eyes
Jesus had changed His appearance
And all of the angels went wild
It was the day of the Lords' transfiguration
The disciples were shaking and scared
When a cloud of mist engulfed them
They stood there amazed and stared
It was the day of the Lords' transfiguration
The disciples could not believe their ears
They heard a loud voice like thunder
This is my son, now hear
It was the day of the Lords' transfiguration
The disciples thought this must be a dream
Moses and Elijah had joined them
And they were left shocked by the scene
It was the day of the Lords' transfiguration
Jesus was shining so bright
The disciples were beginning to wonder
But they were caught up in His great light

My soul is transfigured
in your anoited presence
among these twisted vines and flowers
as they turn to harvest...
The beloved apparitions of my rite
leave me for all eternity
my soul feels like an abandoned child
forbidden in this month of March
to go and gather flowers for his brethren...
Still I gaze at the tender portrait
with timid smile always on your face
with purple-red ember of passion
fulfilled and nurtured by your favor...
I sigh freely in your presence
and seek to bring you home to me
in this field of poppy and flowers
my arms around you like twisted vines of grapes..

It was a day like any other
their weary feet bathed in dust, dirt
a burst of light in the sky
Lord, Elijah, Moses
Captured radiance
Peter awestruck
heart's ablaze
Faith sealed
light

Evening fast was falling
As Peter, James and John
Accompanied their Savior
Sense of weariness forgone
As they climbed a path on the mountain
That led them to the place
Where a manifestation of His divinity
Left its illuminating trace
While Jesus bowed in lowliness
Upon the stony ground
Suddenly, the heavens opened
God’s glory was all around
His holy radiance descended
Enshrouding Jesus’ slight form
Divinity flashed through humanity
His Godlike countenance was born
Besides Jesus appeared two beings
Standing in the light of glory bright
The outlines of Moses and Elijah
Seen so clearly in the night
Clothed with the light of heaven
Christ, the King of Heaven stood
Before the crown, must come the cross
Followed by the role, Priesthood.
