That Sucks Poems | Examples

ROSE AND HONEYSUCKLE MONTH

No need for long talk
Because the long talk
Keeps you stuck
That sucks
It's energy draining.

You can only unfold
What you behold
You're only powerful
Over what you can control
Be guided;
Diligence is the master key to life.

Welcome to the month
Of Pride and Awareness
June to be precise
The sixth month of the year
I'm wishing you all peace, love and more.

Go enjoy life and leave the queue

Losing a friend sucks
Losing hope in your crush sucks
Waiting for people to change sucks
Finding out you comfort hoodie in dirty sucks
If I keep going I’d cry and that sucks

So let me change one letter
And turn the word into bucks
Or let me put my headphones on
And go watch some ducks
As I am back I am happy to see
A standing ice cream truck

One letter or two are changed
The meaning and the tone changed too
How did I go from sad to happy
I have no clue
Stop sticking to negativity like a glue
Go enjoy life and leave the queue

Retirement

Have you ever been in a job that sucks
You feel so lost as if your life is stuck
Being afraid to venture out into the new
With the young and dynamic waiting in queue
You have reached the end of your career graph
Shunted and pushed aside you and all the old staff
But you stay on waiting for your retirement benefits
Silently playing computer games with all the other misfits

I'm Right Here

I'm right here
But yet you don't see me near
I'm not sure what to do
And it makes me blue
I've tried to work on us so much
And it still feels like not enough
You won't meet me halfway
So that sucks in many ways
I don't have a job or money
So that is not funny
I feel sometimes I should go away
Cause I doubt you will miss me anyway
I've been here a long time
That my song is way to long
Hoping for better days
As of every new sun ray
I need a new beginning
Cause i can only do so much and i am not winning
So I'm right here but I'm not singing

Children of Examination Malpractice

It’s been corrupted,
Even the learning systems in normality altered
The Innocence of examinations
Has swerved
Into Guilt of examinations
Exam malpractices everywhere!

Many students have sown the seed of levity
Which has grown into complacency
They, being carefree,
Are shamefully confident
They would cheat to the bull!
Assured their money could in qualms set them free.

Examiners have likewise injured the education routines of our country,
Even WAEC as a body
Of these –
In charge of its structures
They, like an engine that sucks tanks of oil,
So do they take bribes for scripts exchange
And manipulation of grades imputation.

Parents and guardians are fans of students and teachers:
Supporting their children,
And moderating tricks with teachers and examiners.
These exam malfeasances are done throughout:
From the class to external exams offices.

Can of Soda

A can
What is it good for?
Holding the soda?
That's what you want it to do
But what if it has a hole
A hole that sucks it dry
Leaving it hollow.
You could patch the hole
But it will be destroyed
Just like any other before.

Found on a store
Like any other
Sold to anyone
But it comes with a surprise
No soda
An empty can of soda
how could that be
Isn’t it a can of soda?
How could you expect that
It strays from normal.

Why does everyone love soda?
Is it because the can is pretty?
What does the can do?
Does it have a purpose,
Other than holding soda?
Everyone expects the soda there
But what if it’s not
Will the can be thrown out?
It never had soda
But you only know it now
Does it have no value?

There is hope beyond the words
Spoken by hearts, afraid and lost
In the silent thoughts, the darkness
Where doubts cast clouds, shadows
Across the sun’s reflections, prayers
For sweetest faith restored, the open door
To light that silences the turbulence
Of a past filled with grief and regret
Shame that sucks out all the wealth
Wisdom alive beyond the guilt, the distress
A life lived beyond the words, weathered
Poetry, prose, promises of psalms
Colored by hues of saccharine truth
Soppy fidelity to a maudlin youth

Invisible Problem

By looking at me/ do you see epilepsy/ or just a young man just trying to do what's best for me/ do you see the nights of shaking in my sleep/ do you feel the pain of biting my tongue deep/ I feel to be in a different world sometimes/ because y'all say I had a seizure/ and I say y'all out of your minds/ then reality hits/ like a ton of bricks/ I'm in that loopy state/ where I don't know if I exist/ have you ever came to/ not knowing who was around you/ a bunch of eyeballs looking down/ astonished how they found you/ shaking and moaning all around/ now the seizure thoughts hound you/ we all look in the mirror sometime during the day/ just know God made that special person/ in their own special way/ Invisible problems/ shhh/ that's everyone alive/ one more thing that sucks is/ I CAN'T DRIVE

Negativity Can Kiss It

Negativity can be a pain
The killjoy of life
That sucks the fun
Straight out of a room!

Negativity is such a bore
Got the manners of a boar
This piggy needs to be slaughtered
Roasted over a toasty flame on a spit!

Negativity your such a drag
Negativity get out of my face
Or you'll find yourself
Bashed in the skull with a frying pan!

I'm so done with you
I'm so sick of you
Trying to steal away my positivity
Can't you take a break
From wrecking havoc all over the place!

Can't you leave me alone
Can't you take a hint
Nobody wants you here
Nobody wants your crap!

Take your junk
Hit the door
But don't let it
Hit ya on the ass!

Don't tell me what to do
Don't tell me how to feel
My emotions are mine alone
So better stay back
Or I'll kick your ass!

I'm through letting you
Bring me down to your level
Its time you took a hike
Because your not welcomed here!

Negativity can suck it!
Negativity can beat it!
Your not worth my time!
Your not worth my gaze!

Negativity get bent!
Negativity get lost
Negativity shut up!
Negativity can kiss it!

The End of Noise

I stare at darkness for the street lights to open.
The silence is a salve for my senses, reeling
with fantasies an eerie stillness has woven
into a noise in my mind that keeps vibrating.

Moments from my life play an off-key symphony,
which turns into a roar locked in a mad wild dream,
a force field that sucks me into its company,
I want to come up for air and let out a scream.

The moon rises and casts somber shadows in grey,
vestigial thoughts of lost pleasures shatter all poise.
They hover loose in mid-air goading me to flee
into the hush of pre-dawn that scatters night’s noise.

Sunlight suffuses the sky’s washed-out blue, to stave
off foreboding murmurs from the dark, to their grave.

Anathology

When we were born Mom and Dad
cried and laughed, in pain and joy.
But they did know one day, we will kill their freedom!

In the wrath of Corona,
the looter looted state coffer,
the rapists, the insurgents have killed
the living people, insulting humanity
But the people are still speechless.

Of course, I am an atheist within
the understanding of present society.
In my understanding,
I am not a hypocritical religious
but a self-righteous person who
walks on the path shown by nature.

We are part of a society where we grew up
between a superstitious society that sucks blood
in the name religions preachers
Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Mohammad!

It is not my fault that my country
And we are known as beggars and poor!
The fault is the reason of abusing people’s power
by the ruling government on accepting loans, donations and charities.

In the morning, with a cool breeze,
touching your body, stroking silky hair,
Lips kissed by both of us in the
whirlpool of lost consciousness!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving; you hungry fool.
The skin on my bird is there for you.
The basted on butter and glisten for you.
That succulent flavor that sucks for you.

The Whole enchilada of soaks for you.
A roasted out pan of crust to view.
The happy black feeling that's burnt for you.
That slowly cooked bird I braised for you.

What lovely smoked flavor - the taste for you.
The charcoal based hunger - of thanks for you.
That Happy Thanksgiving I'll give to you.
The happiest day for joining two.

She Was It

She was the life to my heart,
Now it's just completely torn apart,
She is the one I still love,
But she flew away like a dove,
She was the reason I woke up everyday,
Now all my dsys just turn gray,
She was the reason I smiled,
But I haven't done that in a while,
She was my breathe of fresh air,
Now it's like I don't even care,
She helped save my life,
Now I'm thinking about grabbing a knife,
If she was still here,
I wouldn't turn to this beer,
But she's not and that sucks,
I guess that's just my luck,
I wish she would come near,
I would take away all of her tears,
If she would give me some time,
I won't give up till she's mine.
This last sentence is very true,
Baby my heart belongs to only you!!

Rain Falls

Rain gently falls from clouds above
Upon a couple new in love
Who under red umbrella hide
To walk the puddled path outside.

Now ponder all the varied bends
Where rain and lovers' journey ends.

In shallow puddles some will stay
Or seep through filthy alleyway.
Some drops will fall to deeping lake
While others, thirsty gutters slake.

But soon enough the land will dry
And all will vapor back to sky.

Contest: A Rainy Day

The following was added after the contest ended.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷

Interpretation: I've struggled with whether or not to add this, but if you'd like to form your own opinions on the meaning of the poem, just don't read on.

The four fates of rain and lovers:
Shallow Puddles - romantic flings that spring up and are fun but not meaningful
Filthy Alleys - Toxic, Damaging relationships
Deeping Lake - True, deep love
Thirsty Gutters - One sided relationship that sucks everything out

But in the end all relationships end so find the best one while you can.

Speak now for the sea, ancient bard that guides me.
Be the voice of its wisdom, washing away my tears.
Raise me and lower me, like an endless wave,
seen and then unseen, but always remaining present.

Speak now for the wind that blows our seeds.
Give it voice so it may be heard by passing souls,
from one generation to the next, may its sound
be gentle with caution and deep sorrow.

Speak now for the frantic fire that cleanses
its crackling voice kills tree bark to be reborn
from speckled skin discarded like a serpent's husk
Phoenix, rising high in all its burning glory

Speak now for the earth that sucks our feet in
and licks with tongues along Lethe's banks
here I will rest, and watch with breaking eyes
the beauty of the universe above me
