Tempt Poems

Premium MemberFor fluffy tails may tempt a wily minx

When’ e’er I look upon the squirrel’s plight
I think, perhaps, he should be given flight
So he could join the mob in warmer climes

But then a raged furry coat and tail
In Florida could land a squirrel in jail
For stealing ice to cool Corona limes

For fluffy tails may tempt a wily minx
To ask the grayish snow bird what he thinks
About the Penguin acting like a Mime

For squirrels, it seems, have knowledge of such stuff
And have been known to call a Penguins bluff
By telling them such acts should be a crime

Replied the Penguin in a voice quite grim
“I do think that your tail could use a trim”
Said the squirrel “then that minx would be mine”

Premium MemberTempt My Lonely Heart

Make a simple offer
Tempt my lonely heart
Won't you understand
Don't tear my soul apart

Take me by the hand
Wrap me in your smile
Let my spirit soar
If only for awhile

Kiss my hungry lips
Look into my eyes
See the longing there
It's not a false disguise

Lay your body down
Set my passion free
Help me to become
The man I want to be

courting danger and driven to foolish heights for some
genetics enable calculated risks
proving that dopamine minds
mostly roll the dice
why tempt fate
Freud’s finds
slips of the tongue misstatements reveal underlying
thoughts the unconscious has drives as do chipped disks
disciplined by providence
warns those to think twice
why tempt fate
surely
we’re aware that one thought linked strangely to another
a concatenation of circumstances
or cursed synthetic lifes bet
is doomed destiny
why tempt fate
if set

Tempt

outside writing through my ash
blowing to see the words
misspelt in my dreaming
How lonley A the a stands
Hugging i's like ink tree
what fingers hollow
will i fill
tilted head crooked
next line flows like
the bunched satin curls
seeing snowflakes from within
so what words of wanton
will said
juice you

All Things Can Tempt Me

All things can tempt me from penning down my poem.
And here I cram, how fool I am, jotting down them.
A loud noise, from the neighbour's boys, or a party next door,
The roadside park, where dogs bark, and cars honk more.
The dashing beauty, hot and cutie, makes my heart soften.
More often than not, the whistling pot, distracts me often.
When the kids play, they make my day, I forget a line or two.
My darling wife, all my life, made my rhythm flew.
The parrot's call, frightens all, makes my mood sour,
The quietest time, for rhythmic rhyme, is the midnight hour.

All things can tempt me in the penning joys

And all the skills that crafting verse employs

Yet there is something more life does impart

To pluck the sweeter strings within my heart

It weaves itself with tempo, runes and song

For tapestries of romance - right and wrong

O' balladries of verse and rhyme can scheme

To paint with words the depth of any dream

Yet, 'til the last bright bells of life should toll

Tis music speaks the language of my soul.

ALL THINGS THAT CAN TEMPT ME

All things can tempt me when I wish to write
a poem can’t guess which time to be right!

          Tempting situations always arise.
           Yet not difficult to compromise.

Retired life, not pursuing a fixed job
Swinging in short span as pendulum’s bob.

         Watching television compulsory.
         Gossiping also comes mandatory.

Yet Poetry attracts as an addiction
To pen a poem has no restriction.

All Things Can Tempt Me

Material manifestation makes man want to make things go far.

The desire to acquire is like fire burning in every twinkling star.

Many have been lost in illusion of the self for not knowing who we are.

Misguided, misled , and misjudged by selfishness of the judges at the bar.

When the law become bed time stories, fairy tales and proverb.
The child will definitely become furgitive fella in cops cab.

My land is a land where every single green leave is a real herb.
But to my greatest suprise, there was no medicine in our physician's lab.

Now almost everybody in every corner is living in deathly panic.
That the only food to be eating everywhere now is garlic.
What is this, a waking nightmare of a scary pandemic?
One that seems they haven't known in all their time in acedemic.

Let's not be tempt with fear let's wear the heart that understand.
That we can eat what they want and still properly watch our hand.
And live fearlessly so bright, ready for whatever that may land.
Because we are all chlidren of light and we all are grand in many brand.

All things can tempt me from composing words
I long to write praising these carefree birds.
A nice sonnet by noon could be achieved,
But first my bladder needs to be relieved!
Oh wait, there’s gardening that must be done,
Plus meals. Then chores – the enemy of fun.
In time, the supper bell has beckoned me,
Followed by News and Wheel and Jeopardy.
Bedtime! Line 1 alone is done; such sorrow -
I’ll have to write the next thirteen tomorrow.

All Things Can Tempt Me

All things can tempt me - my pen remains quiet,
Spellbound by downpours - thunder in riots;
A walk with the dog – that last chocolate cookie,
Final sales tempting – I want to play hooky;
An oncoming nap sneaking up from behind -
Hunger on tiptoes, raving munchies unkind;
Watching my backyard – crazy squirrels in the trees -
Wrestling with writer’s block – new recipes;
Football and baseball – deep rivalry blues -
So tempt me to ignore my friend, my muse.

All Things Can Tempt Me
(title of a poem from William Butler Yeats & inspiration for line one of my poem)

All things can tempt me from writing I do.
I sit down; my dog on the rug starts to poo!

Well, that was not tempting, and yet I must say
from poetry it sure drew me away!

I sit down again, but what greets my ear?
The ice cream van’s musical chiming I hear!

I sit down this time - ice cream on my chin.
But now it’s a mood for popcorn I’m in!

That would go great with this show I must see.
My pen rolls away; I’ll watch my TV!

All things can tempt me from composing Verse,
Like a voice and seat in house of Chambers,
In this world of low morals and values,
I would deride lecherous notions and views,
Command that more compassion instilled
World peace! I demand no innocents killed,
this is a dream, a dream of a dreamer,
Waving a flag for a place in the Chamber!
man who lost his wife to an argument,
An affair that led to marriage annulment!
What values can a man like me propose?
My poetry is bad verse, story worse prose!

All things can tempt me from the verse I need to write:
Even the dishes can sway me from my plight.
The rain, it’s lashing hard upon the window pane.
It’s stopped - I’ll write. No! There it goes again.
Could it be I’m too tired? Could it be I’m bored?
Once again, I discover, I’m worryingly flawed!
The suns too hot. Far too hot I do declare,
It’s doing absolutely nothing for my creative flair.

The paper is still blank, the nothingness a clue,
Too many things tempt, just between me and you!!

I am a sinner and yet instill
all things can tempt me

my passions rage within my will
yet all things can tempt me

I can feel in the moral of my bones
The ill gotten chills of my heart and soul

my passions rises within my heart boils
yet all things can tempt me

material things I want them ALL
within myself I wound, steal, or kill for

just the thoughts of stealing revolting
choice processes still our baiting

since the dawn of creation
I am a sinner and yet instill
all things can tempt me

my passions rage within my will
yet all things can tempt me

All Things Can Tempt Me

All things can tempt me, albeit, rapture,
Quill be as ready, for the next chapter,
Favor the poets who savor the art,
Eloquent locutions sweetly impart,
Unlike some poets too busy with swords,
Fancifully toss their well-chosen words,
Nay, let e'er a woman's face be as worse,
That it dulls the edges of a poet's verse,
But yea e'er it naught steal a poets words,
Let beauty soar on the wings of the birds.
