All Things Can Tempt Me

All things can tempt me from composing words I long to write praising these carefree birds. A nice sonnet by noon could be achieved, But first my bladder needs to be relieved! Oh wait, there’s gardening that must be done, Plus meals. Then chores – the enemy of fun. In time, the supper bell has beckoned me, Followed by News and Wheel and Jeopardy. Bedtime! Line 1 alone is done; such sorrow - I’ll have to write the next thirteen tomorrow.

John, such a nice penned piece showing how so many things can lead us astray. Good rhyme and flow too, a really nice read. Blessings, Gordon

John, I just loved this poem, serious but tinged with great humor and so true, a zillion things are leading us astray, a winner to me _Constance

This reminds me of - me! Especially love the last line (I have a bad habit of procrastination, so that one especially resonates!)

This was a fun one, John, and I need cheering up, (as you are the only person commenting on my poems for the most part) ... great stuff, keep up the good work! Not sure I'll be here much longer ... the discouragement is weighing heavy. Blessings, Poet.
