Telling Poems

Telling my Friend about the Sky

Restless clouds hide
the sun and stars
as I drive alone.
A voice on the radio
asks what is important
now. My bones ache
and I embrace my dreams
as clouds pass overhead.
The voice talks about visions
of children as their lives lie
ahead, but I am older.
The tires on my car sing
as I embrace the moment,
but memories find their way
back to

Telling me you love me isn't the same as being sorry

I've seen the underbelly of your persona.

The despise you feel for La Verona.

A hate you spew because I'm a woman.

Hit me again, although you know you shouldn't.

And I know the examples life set before you,

Didn't show you the conclusions you should have come to .

That when you're upset you should not bruise my body,

And

Premium MemberNobody Knows - I'm Not Telling Why

I sit here smug, my secret in place,
With a quiet cheesy grin upon my face.
They ask me, beg me, play I-spy, and pry —
But nope! Not me folks! I'm not telling why!

They try to read signs stuck on my lips
Unzip all my social internet blips and syncs.
To see the steely poker-face stare lurking
behind the smoke-screen

What Our Body Telling Us

Some truth about our body:
Our body remembers absolutely everything
It remembers what you don't remember
The body reacts to danger
It lives or buries unlived in feelings and emotions
It tells a moment what's happening around you
Through physical reactions and state of health
It's enough to learn to notice and interpret them
Observe your body how suddenly contracted
It has a lump

Telling me This

Telling me this, telling me that,
Telling me why, telling me how.
Telling me who, over and over,
Tell me again
I still won’t listen.

Preaching your truth, claiming it’s fact,
Forcing your view, demanding I act.
Pointing your fingers, pulling my strings,
But I won’t bow I’ve cut those things.

Echo your words, drill them in,
Hope that they break me, make me give

Premium MemberTelling Eyes

Are you ever aware that
When you smile at me,
In your eyes there is this
gentle little glimmer I see.

It's acting as a beacon,
Letting me know you're happy,
And I have touched your heart,
Giving you your love for me.

The rare times you grow upset,
I know, without a doubt,
The shining of that glimmer
your feelings of anger put out.

What emotion

LEPRECHAUN II

Upon walking I saw
The cutest lil thing
A dressed-up leprechaun
Carrying a shillelagh stick
With a long pipe in his mouth
And circles coming from his ears
It looked like rings of fire
Oh dear, oh dear, it was
Coming from his extra-long beard
As he strutted along, not a care
In the world, he starts to spin as
He twirls and twirls, unleashing
A strange

Premium MemberTelling the Bees

Telling the bees my secrets
just as the ancients told theirs.

The only reason is another star,
or the dying of our beauty.

Ignorance is the definer
of your bliss.

Stay where you are, not willing to come in;
not willing to sieze the sun or the moon.

As sky telling a secret to earth

Winds whisper softly of trees
Language, ancient of rhythm
Carried between breaths of clouds
Mountains listen, stillness abounds

Stony faces tilted toward the seas
Understanding what cannot
Creation leans closer to humanity
Casting shadows in our lives

Ocean carries messages across infinity
Light rippling through waves, unseen
Echoing silence in between
A rhythm we’ve forgotten

Flowers lean, petals tremble
They understand the world
Woven into the

Premium MemberTelling Hands

His once smooth, light, tender hands
Now callused, rough and worn.
The veins that once were hidden now
Protrude as purple strands.

Baby skin, now savage wounds
Display how much they’ve aged
And scars with skin worn thin
Leave no beauty left to swoon.

Oh, the stories in his hands
Through years of serving show
How toil, work

A COWBOY

A cowboy stormed into town
He seems to be hell bound
To challenge and fight
Cuz he was uptight
But he came to an end
When he challenged an old friend
Who was quicker and real fast
Who clocked him in his ass
He’s not here anymore
So, they closed the door

her smile

her compliments

her despair
     our despair
comforting,

          everything I need in life...-ing
Great.

A CANARYS TRICK

A canary pulled
The trick of his life
When a cat
Moved in for the kill
The canary hung on
An unlocked cage door
So, when the cat leaped
The canary slings open
the door and the cat
Leaps inside, the cage
Door slams shut
With the cat locked inside
He presses his
Pitiful looking face up
Against the cage, as if he was
Begging
