I stopped amidst the rushing tide
The stars were shining bright
I heard the choir of children sing
Above the somber night
A sudden darkness veiled the world below.
Luna was defused by a shadowed sky,
giving cause for Earth to be wrought with woe.
Something strange caused the night to go awry
as a shroud covered moonlight's golden glow.
My pulse quickened at the phenomenon.
I inhaled the floral scent of roses.
Snowflakes drifted over garden and lawn.
Like a fairytale that one composes,
it was a magical scene to dwell on.
Stars were dancing around the somber moon.
The brightest ones provided enough light
to see them twirling to a rhytmic tune.
What a spectacle I witnessed tonight;
stars waltzing and snow in the month of June!
With drooping eyelids, I soon fell asleep,
awakened when dawn's fingers touched my face.
At the window I sat, ready to weep.
Of snow and roses, there was not a trace.
The tale of last night I'll secretly keep.
We who will not last the day
Find time before the night to play.
The gentle laugh, the chequered gray,
The shadows usher starlit ray.

The day I leave this world behind I'll find solace, peace of mind and no more pain, just happiness.
Don't mourn my passing, don't shed a tear for I've been trapped in my sorrow year after year. You didn't know my struggles,my deepest pain but now I'll find freedom and happiness will reign.
Wear black for me,a somber hue,a reflection of emotions I held true.No grand eulogies,no empty praise, just play the melancholy tunes that sooth my gaze.
Let the sad songs in my phone be my final refrain,a reminder of the heartache I've endured in vain.Celebrate my release,my newfound peace, for I'm finally free my soul can cease.
From the darkness I'll find my way to a place where love and joy will stay.

starkly somber skies

Why is she so somber? We asked each other.
Many weird guesses were made by my silly brother.
She has injured her smile, she has cut off her toe.
There is a fish on her hat, she is stuck in the snow.
There was a fish on her hat, so that was not a guess.
Maybe it smells horrible, suggested cousin Tess.
Why is she so somber? She never cracks a smile.
Maybe she has lost her lipstick or her favorite nail file?
Shades of gray
on blue sky
in the night;
Makes a good way
for all the stars
to shine so bright;
For, the somber sky
paves a better way
to see the dim light.
I remember the day when the terrorists shocked
Our world. I remember that sad and dreadful day.
Two planes crashed like missiles
Into the Twin Towers in NYC; one hijacked
Plane hit the Pentagon, while another landed
In Pennsylvania and exploded: all aboard died,
Including the hijackers, the criminal imbeciles.
Thousands innocent people lost their lives.
I vividly remember that infamous day.
Thousands of people could not get away.
Millions of people panicked, millions cried.
I'll always remember that dark day, where countless lives
Were changed forever. Thank God that the number one
Killer is now dead. Thank God that other killers can simply run
And hide, since they cannot plan like that anymore,
They do not have the means to hurt us anymore.
The Almighty God is good all the time,
Even after being the victim of an egregious crime.
I will always remember 9/11,
Even when I'll reach ninety seven.
May God bless America!
May God protect America!

stark rocky cliffs
foreboding and somber
light drifts in hollow windows
thunder drowning the screams
as the rain beats a steady absent rhythm
black cats run n cry, slink
into the ether
searing everything
everything blind
it drifts along a rain-slick street
street lights flicker
sputter n pop!
Silent...
silver screams drift in pale forms
hollow light along the rocky cliffs
foreboding & somber
touching hands with you
raising my arm to meet your fingertips and smile at the soft tingle
bitter berries sit on the edge of the window
fog pulling us closer together
i hope you remember me forever
even if forever isn't long enough for us
Somber Rebellion
Upon somber's horrid-rebellious fleet,
Corvus and ravens are victims who plead,
Nightmare which leeches through logic and glee,
Conceals itself behind bleaks ominous screams.
Coercion of luminity for pallid deeds,
Fabricates these mirrored-fraudulent beasts,
Wandering over a picayune defeat,
Condemning drab-shadows for your vulnerability.
Blight and woes for haul of gloom,
no stand for hope and bloom...
As it pulls us to an abyss of nothingness,
Why stand in path of haughtiness?
Concealer of truth, yet beholder of it too,
The coagulate of shade fears and escapes,
Across with warm bask of delicate ray,
Time's meticulous philosophy orders whoosh...it all Fades!

Autumn, the present season
Changes of cadences and colors
It's a very charming time
Which only lies in errors.
The leaves are no longer green
Except those of the everlasting firs
A large number of sentinel birds
Leave, because they are less alert.
Autumn is a beautiful and dark season
Which is between the cool and the cold
It's time to decorate the homes
For the feasts of the believers, and for the loas.
Autumn is here; the leaves are falling
On the damp lawns and on the graves
Winter will be more severe this year
And the buds will be absent on the glaciers.
Autumn is picturesque and melancholic
The ladies start to hide their bodies
Bit by bit. The smiles become dramatic
As we celebrate the living and the dead.
