A CRACK IN THE SIDEWALK

Early morning, sun dripping gold over weathered fences.
     I was running, feet rhythmically striking the pavement.

Then a sudden jolt, my foot caught in a yawning crack.
     I remember

Mournful Clouds

How steady the merciless raindrop falls,
Could they be the fragments of my soul?
Wept from the mournful clouds, my mind.
Watering the diseased flowers, my body.
Yet my heart lingers, in the void of life,
No passenger walking by the sidewalk,
Can ease the fractured throne of love,
No love for life, no life for hope, no beats,
Why should a man

Crime wave, crime pays
Crime goes on all day
But its not a crime to 
feel the way i feel
Say the things I say
I stole your bike 
cause had built in getaway
I stole your wife bewcause
She said she wasnt 
into it anyways
I dont know why Im so

Sidewalk Flowers

Sidewalk flowers release their energy
To bloom and show off their fragrance 
Looking at flowers I feel unbelievably healthy
The colors are always bright
I love life more so lovely
Love and wish you happiness and success.

Horror and dreadful cheers, 
Forgetting absurdity, 
Haunted by untold fears.

Tango with monsters & ghosts, 
Guilty Pleasure, thus fits.
Revenants; our revered hosts.

Dreaming on the dark side, 
With nightmares as close mates, 
Intoxicated high tide.

There, a River overflows, 
Falling the sidewalk's tears, 
Whole Sunset Boulevard froze.

Aloft, the people of night, 
All sky seats are sold out.

Scratching, scraping across the street
Or something one would call nonsense

Sidewalk Encounters

Random woman suddenly came to me to ask to zip her dress.
Weeks ago another woman had complimented my chest.
May be signs I need a black woman to fall in love with.

I used to jump on sidewalk cracks
when I was angry with my mother
which was a lot of the time

I spent my childhood
feeling enraged
feeling less than

feeling like the one who was not the favorite
for I was not
never became the favorite either

to this day I will jump hard on a crack
hoping to break my mother’s back

Back To School

Early September rain 
A dampened sidewalk, 
Wet leaves lead me back
To blackboards and chalk

The wood of the desks
Cupboards along the wall,
Fresh, clean and simple 
Newly awakens it all

The lessons learned
Countless memories made,
A moment forgotten ...
I'm back in fourth grade 

The sharpened pencils
The crayon's shaving,
Add up to the many
Aromas worth saving

Pink erasers, notebooks
A new binder that

Sidewalk Chemist

I test the gum
And the scum
That came from
So many feet
Scrape the blood
And the crud
Between mud
Smooshed on concrete

I sample spit
Ample birds***
All with a flick
Of the wrist
Coz I’m your local
Wearing bifocal
Antisocial
Sidewalk chemist

I run a lab
And own a lab
Called Ahab
And when we walk
I grab a glut
Of cigarette butts
Ahab sniffs mutts
We rarely talk

I test the muck
Assay green yuck
Prod black

The Sidewalk Glances at Me

  The steady beat of rain on my head
    I glance at the sidewalk
    It glances at me
      bone dry as can be ~ 
   Are we alive or dead, verily

spent money on bike 
don't ride it far just sitting 
on someone's sidewalk

Halloween Sidewalk

The world had gone mad, all the people had flipped
I glared at a window where blood and gore dripped
Folk wandered blindly, their eyes hanging out
And bats big as rats seemed to flit all about

Two nuns and a vicar with vampire fangs
Lurked under the tree where a skeleton hangs
A haggard old hunchback went lumbering by
A rat

Sidewalk Buffet

Leaves fall on sidewalk, grey
Surface covered with orange and green
Grey no longer can be seen,
Passerby, can't help but notice,
  A buffet of green, orange and yellow leave
