I used to expose my toes,
went walking without my clothes.
Then, I was bolder;
now, I'm much older,
and my skunky toenail shows....

Sijo Ballet
Ladies upon a stage which are dressed in feminine style
Gracefully in a row, they flow as a troupe dancing the ballet
I am sure those ladies had many ingrown toenails and cramps....

The heels’ climbing trellis —
Crimson roses, bold and beautiful.
Wrapped like a winding staircase,
The taupe strap shin high.
Snazzy red toenails.
The fashion’d lady primped,
Ready for her handsome “steady.”

For You a Quintain
As the big fish jumps from water into the air
And the twilight sits in blue joy on its scales
I pick my words from your lustrous hair
And use them in my sentence for my sails
As the colours keep painting your toenails

Unattended
A garden unattended
is a woman abandoned

Grass growing unruly
her hair untidy

Petals dried out
manicure urgently needed

Dry stems and twigs
chapped lips and dry skin

Weeds vined and entwined around trees
ingrown toenails and coarse heels on feet...

Premium Member Wish My Toenails Were Graham Crackers
I wish my toenails were graham crackers
They would crumble instead of making holes in my shoes
I could eat the droppings
Or fashion them into a nice pie crust
They would be easier to clip and trim
I would not have to use the lawn clippers
I wish my toenails were graham crackers...

I Asked
she sent
me recently
photos of those
things that may grow

since last
seeing her her
finger and toenails
have certainly grown

as she
laughed
she lifted
her charming

arms and
revealed as
i reveled in her
new growth which

made
me make
the statement
let your hair down...

A Lifetime Tradition
Grandfather relaxed
While I cleaned his grimed toenails—
He was a tugboat captain.
It was tradition,
As soon as he fell asleep,
I painted his toenails red.

Premium Member Watch Out Mister
I am wearing sandals.
It is February.
This should be a no no
But it is fifty six degrees.

I am old.
I could be dead tomorrow.
I had best wear them today.

Your toenails are horrible! My husband says.
He would have been better off never saying that.
Do you have any idea how much damage sharp pointy nails can do?...

A Day of Sometime Sun
you, a packrat
a luncheon of puckey
meaning leftovers
I, wrinkled hands
date with the dishes

ghosts from the burial ground
are barely noisy
sometimes watching our TV
they tease the cats
who treat them like mirrors
they cannot smell

eight, the number of
toenails you possess
(and also)
the number of fallen trees...

Relaxing afternoon
Painting toenails red.
Curling up with a book
After rolling out of bed.

At peace within my soul,
Content with the life I lead.
Not rich in material things
But have everything I need.

Would like someone to share
This peaceful life with me.
A partner, a friend and lover,
Then how perfect my life would be....

Premium Member Matts Moody Mother Mollycoddled Him
Matt’s moody mother mollycoddled him.
His toenails had a daily trim.
He sneaked out to date.
His girlfriend was great.
They fell in love which made mommy grim.

Matt pleaded with her to change her mind.
I love her he said. She is the marrying kind.
Forty-two is too young!
His mother said, Son!
He was a baby in his mommy’s mind....

The theme is quite difficult,
might be time to catapult
but wait...

Every noun has its day
High-heeled or feng-shui
Athletic, prosthetic, flip-floppy

Misty, my darling
your toenails a-sparkling
rise up, dodge that train, walk away.

The Agony of De Feet
The Agony of de feet

When I am afoot I fear for the fact
That my didgets will fidget
And I must react
My corns are like thorns
When the pressure is great
The bunion’s no funion
My toenails ingrown
With all this pain I can loudlly state
I must buy large shoes
 To give me some space
to rid me of this winged tip fate

Her toenails are as thick as a tortoise shell
She does not hesitate to tell

She has not been to charm school, says Cousin Kell

Tough old bird with opinions most would never tell

we are fascinated yet terrified by our grandma Nell
She calls us to supper with a possessed dinner bell...

Boneheads
There once was a gal who loved Irish green,
from her hair to her toenails it was seen,
but some guys wanted a peek
underneath all that green chic...
so the dummies bought an X-ray machine!

They tried and tried to get the Irish gal
to do what they asked and become their pal,
but she had another way
to keep the X-ray at bay...
she turned red and screamed in their ear canal....

Premium Member My Toenails Have Life of Their Own
My toenails have taken on a life of their own.
Unsightly appendages.
Not unlike an ugly claw foot table.
Two of them have grown sixteen inches.
Curling under my foot, leaving a crisp sharp tail as I walk.
One of them is holding a sign that says “Trim me”.
Another is looking for her birth mother.
Last but not least one is making fun of the other four.
It is difficult to ignore this....

Worked a jigsaw puzzle
While listenin' to Queen
And workin' out your algebra
While waitin' sweet sixteen?

Or scurried off to India
Just 'cause the op arose?
Or painted toenails black and blue
With one splashed hot pink rose?

Have ya ever taken life so hard
It makes ya wanna cuss?
If so, my friend, sit down come in
you're down dead one of us.

Vanilla Honey Sugar Scrub
Vanilla Honey Sugar Scrub

Aromatherapy of smelling vanilla honey sugar scrub is so relaxing!

I picked up on when I got my toenails done at Classy Nails

Then I saw me some at Wal-Mart and grabbed it

By the way do many use a bar of soap nowadays?

I like Irish Spring

It makes me want to sing in the shower

But I'm only 6% Irish

Yet, sugar I'm a while lot of vanilla honey!

Premium Member Locked In the Dark
I’ve been locked in the dark, where the demons dwell
They swallowed me whole, and showed me hell

I’ve been locked in the dark, where the demons smirk
They smile through jagged teeth, to carry out the devil’s work

I’ve been locked in the dark, where the demons feast
They chew rotten toenails, from the deceased

I’ve been locked in the dark, and now I’m apart
But still I see the demons, and their black hearts...

The Birth of Girth
From a much younger man
my waistline did expand,
have no offer of excuse,
for some cookie abuse.

Simple tasks done with ease,
are no longer a breeze,
having tried, but I fail,
to even clip my toenails.

I'm quite ashamed to admit,
that I used to be fit,
dealing now, this eclipse,
of once seen naughty bits.

The new shape that is forming,
now my clothes nonconforming,
no good reason of worth,
for the birth of my girth....

Afternoon Relaxation
Afternoon Relaxation

The afternoon’s sun sinks into the tree lined horizon
I sit on a porch swing
One leg curled under me
My other leg dangling

The afternoon’s breeze caresses my face
I gently, rock back and forth
One foot anchored to the on the porch
My toenails shine strawberry red

The afternoon’s warmth envelopes me
I hold a dish of melting vanilla ice cream
One cherry perched on top
My tongue wishes is it was a strawberry instead...
