Afternoon Relaxation

Afternoon Relaxation The afternoon’s sun sinks into the tree lined horizon I sit on a porch swing One leg curled under me My other leg dangling The afternoon’s breeze caresses my face I gently, rock back and forth One foot anchored to the on the porch My toenails shine strawberry red The afternoon’s warmth envelopes me I hold a dish of melting vanilla ice cream One cherry perched on top My tongue wishes is it was a strawberry instead

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Lord's blessings be with you.
