My Shutterfly order was 48 bucks
But shipping was just under 30.
To charge such a fee for a space on the trucks
Is ridiculous and downright dirty.
I waited on hold for a live support chat
And was told there was naught they’d be doing
Except for a 5 dollar gift card, if that
Would suffice, an idea worth pooh-poohing.
Since they usually offer some deals I will wait
For I’m not in that much of a hurry
But if lots of their customers choose the same fate
Maybe corporate should start to worry.

Shipping as it was
He had many ships the old ship owner
He liked to visit his vessels eat the onboard cuisine
Talk to the crew he knew their names
Listened to them and their problems
Seamen stayed onboard long on his ship some
Tor years they knew nothing of life ashore
And when the ship was in harbour only ventured to
The nearest bar one can say they had become
Shipionalised
He died the old man and the expert shipping people
Took charge, reduced the crew number no benefits
Finally hired crew from Asia and flagging out to
Avoid paying taxes.
Shipping as we knew it had come to an end, sad
But nothing lasts forever but it galls me to think
Fifty thousand seafarers lost their job and
It didn`t make a headline in any newspaper

Six minutes to six. I’m ready for tea,
The forecast for shipping – what is in store ?
My chair is a vessel far out on the sea,
Rain, moderate or good, occasion’ly poor.
There’s warning of gales in areas all,
The Low in the Faeroes promises more,
South-easterly, storm force, tending to squall,
Rain, moderate or good, occasion’ly poor.
Home by the fireside no sailor am I,
But share in the ritual, listen in awe,
Watch the storm brewing and see the clouds fly,
Rain, moderate or good, occasion’ly poor.
Fisher, Tyne, Dogger and Forth, German Bight,
Deepening depression and gales by the score
In Plymouth and Portland, Dover and Wight,
Rain, moderate or good, occasion’ly poor.
Not easy to concentrate, riding the swell –
Turn up the volume against the wind’s roar,
The man from the ‘Beeb’ has conjured up hell !
Rain, moderate or good, occasion’ly poor.
