Shining memories

Be happy. Don't be sad
Think of all the fun you've had
Keep them in your memories
They are like the victories
You accomplished every day
Keeping the dark clouds away

Dusk darker themed—
Eventide, where I drifting, dreamed
Softly sighing, stars arcing gleamed
Moonlight and shade pass over me.

My life and day now pass away
While in the glooming dusk I lay
Time abides till our final day
Then whisks us up and far far away

Into that darkness flecked with light
Seeking our place midst starry night
Silently roams the meteor,
Left to right—
Pray, a gleeful soul taken flight?

Far far above the moonlit blue
Turned the living orb, shining-new
Passed the horizon a glow endue
The Sun, golden, dawning into view.

TWO EYES

Darkness
Prevails as lights
go off, on a cold night
But for the ghostly gleaming glare -
Black cat

Half Bread

A heavy sigh leaves me
As the quiet night shrouds my thoughts
I think to myself
Like a matchstick
Shining so bright
But not for long
Words to describe my behavior
A spark at first, only to be doused the wind
Even if not on purpose
The intensity gone
The thrill turned to smoke
I love everything yet love nothing
I admire the way and works of the world
Ideas cover my mind like an artwork
Though I see to no action
My spirit willing
My flesh weak
In chase of competence
I dress my self in the inconvenience
Of my actions
Though hurting
I turn a blind eye knowing what it costs me
" You have something going for you"
What exactly?
I am not complete
My fortress a glass box; Yet I hope for coverage.
Doubt is within
My stubborn nature acting as an armor
What do you think?

Comparison

Comparison, Comparison
She is good at
dancing, singing
Reading, writing

I can't hold it
ANYMORE!
Tired of being COMPARED
Always breaking down

 BUT, Never gonna happen
the samething.
 It's my time to shine
Put all my hardwork

And Today, My Hardwork
Paid off.
Today I am the onlyone Shining
 Winning result

Premium Member SHINING SEAS

Breezes of America
Smell of the past
Oceans to Shores
Horizons aligned
The Sun Parallels
Lighthouses stand firm in the distances
Shining Stars with virtues
America’s history past and present
Entry of inspired souls
Beliefs unmeasurable
Forefather’s spirits
Appreciation merit
From Shining seas to Thee
Embraces we
Heaven’s shine
Blessing combined
A word of lesson
Understanding through the mind
Concept energy
Whispers of maneuvering waves
Deep below
Golden hearts
Be Encouraged
Be Strong
Beyond the horizons
No boundaries nor limitations
Ultimate promise
Focus of you
Endless time
Ship to Shores
Beacon eyes
Seas being wise
Understanding to recognize
Shining sea
Taking a moment
Reflection glisten
Just observe and listen
The seas speak.

Premium Member God shining through you during WW II

was nothing
next to you, and now, and bipolar
schizophrenia.

You create better art
than Picasso.

You write better poetry
than Shakespeare.

You are my sister
and that means more
than anything smaller
could ever hope to be.

Shining Moon

A silver moon shines
shadows on the leafy trees
bathed in bluish light

Premium Member Shining In The Midst of Glory

This is such a glorious picture
full of the glowing, amazing light
it stops you in your forward track
grips you by its stunning sight

Here is Africa, so magnificent
its views just speak not in word
but full of glory so abundantly
one's heart is forever stirred

Behind the animals so splendid
the sunset shines in full glow
its light is so piercing, like a needle
holds you like forever, so very slow

The land where you stand upon
such dryness with little life
full of hope and anticipation
seeks to overcome all the strife

Let's look again at every inch
from the bottom to the top
there we have the Great Savanna
our view, we just don't want to stop

(This is based on the painting 'African Sunset over the Savanna contest' )

Many voices ring clear, true,
Carved in verses sparkling new,
For a moment held in sight
To catch the fast fading light.

The brushstrokes are soft and deep,
Like a rippling stream, they seep:
Do voices of equal shine
Bear same weight in space and time?

We Are The Light Shining Bright

by BaMuata

A poem celebrating Black history and humanity's endless possibilities*

We are the light shining bright,
Through centuries of struggle, standing in our might,
From ancient kingdoms to the modern day,
Our brilliance illuminates the way.

We are the dreamers, the builders, the bold,
Stories of resilience, forever told,
In every generation, we rise and fight,
A beacon of hope, shining ever so bright.

We are the artists, the poets, the sage,
Writing our truth on history's page,
Through music and movement, we stake our claim,
A legacy of greatness, etched in our name.

We are the scientists, the leaders, the wise,
Breaking through barriers, reaching the skies,
In every field, we make our mark,
Turning shadows into light from the dark.

We acknowledge all possibility within,
A place in humanity where we all begin,
United in purpose, diverse in our song,
Together we're powerful, together we're strong.

We are the past, the present, the future untold,
Hearts full of courage, spirits of gold,
In celebration of Blackness, we stand in our right,
Forever and always, we are the light shining bright.

The shining of a thousand torches

The sun wont wait,
For her time to come.
She takes it and struggles.
Before it is done,
You may ask the sun.
Why cant I look at your beauty?
The sun wont respond,
But will shine with envy.
The sun is a friend, or an enemy.
The sun can be threatening.
The sun can struggle to push through clouds,
And still be blamed when its rainy.

But your phone light wont pursue its dreams.
Your torch wont burn brighter.
I would rather wait till after,
The clouds have gone and the sun comes back, lighter.

Spring`s First Dew

                                                            Spring’s first dew on petals
                                                          Kissing gently cheeks and lips,
                                                            Shining gem of crystal hue,
                                                         Sparks life in shriveled beauties.

Premium Member Beware, The Shining is Real!

Nothing is more
dangerous
than spending a whole day,
or two, or God help me,
more, in a small house
with your spouse.

Hide the hatchet
and take up drinking.

Which window
is the closest exit?
The one behind
the loveseat?

“Oh, look, a cardinal!”

Act fast!

I would crawl through,
half-way through day one.
I’ll break it if I have to!

Go for a LONG,
one-way walk
in the woods,

whether or not
the woods are
within sight of
our house.

This is too close for comfort.
This is not
our honeymoon.

“What are you
staring at!”

The never-ending
proximity
is killing me.

I hate puzzles
you spend years on,
sigh, then take apart.

Let’s go
count the snowflakes
in the heap outside
the door.

Now that
is something to do!

Grab the tweezers,
bifocals,
and a bucket!

Premium Member A Shining Beauty

A beauty that charmed every eye,
Made passers-by pause and then sigh;
With grace she did bloom,
Dispelling all gloom,
Yet she slipped and fell from so nigh.
