To watch and see a grandchild shine
In a performance is to feel
Like shouting, “Yes, that one is mine!”
Of course his talents do appeal.
It’s hard to be objective, but
We want our grandkids to do well.
Still, if they aren’t great, my gut
Would let me know. (Though, would I tell?)
Not everybody who performs
In sports or some way on the stage
Will rise up way about the norms
And with the audience engage
Except within subjective eyes,
Which always think that they’re the best.
The future, though, holds the surprise
Of who will leave the world impressed.
Month eight
was great
month nine
will shine
hot days
sun rays
turn cool
the rule
as fall
will call
to change
arrange
new scenes
by means
new glow
bestow
with red
instead
plus gold
to hold
our view
as new
landscapes
escape
dark greens
serene
will fade
leaves laid
to keep
asleep
month nine
will shine
As the rise and shine of AI becomes ubiquitous
It’s ever harder to discern.
What’s easier to discern
Is what it’s not and what it lacks.
Of course it has no soul and never will
Which makes it primed to
Mechanical sociopathy.
But what it lacks besides a soul
Is the ability to judge in an instant
Discerning what it likes or doesn’t,
What is true or not.
It lacks humor too, which is part of judgement,
And along with that original thought
The true genius level ability to create.
AI after all, is designed to serve,
To answer and to please,
While genius requires the willingness
To disturb.
Will AI morph into something unforeseen?
Quite likely but never into a soul
With intuitive discernment and a taste for the absurd.
(9/6/26)
in the darkened woods
behind iced capped mountain peaks
in the oceans depths
She didn't walk the way the world expected
None could guess what storm she had weathered
She moved and moved and never stopped
And her every footstep was strong and bold.
With a body that has carved its own battles
Adversity could not shake her firmness
She carried none of its sting and bitterness
But joyfully shared only smiles and sweetness.
While we speak of limits and constraints
She spoke of immense possibilities
Always exploring her potentialities
And lived them as graceful entities.
She refused any act of sympathy
And spurned faint token of empathy
All the time stood firmly saying no to pity
Predictably preferred the ground of dignity.
Legacy of self-dependency and dignity she sowed.
In her life journey all along, she has proved
That Power and strength are not measured
in strides but in the grit and spirit imbued.
It feels good
to
discover
new poems
which is
exactly why
distracting me
will usually
always
result in
my distance
though I still
always wish
fellow writers
inner peace
and serenity
and all
the very best
as they try
to explore
their hearts
and minds
with
the power
of
their
words.
Hello, brothar, sistar!
I see how brightly you shine...
You hang high and illuminate amidst darkness, time after time
The veils of animosity and the curtains of vitriol may come to conceal your light,
But shine you must and will; your luminescence will carry the fight
So, brothar, sistar...
When darkness is abound,
Go up and shine and don't come down
Remember who and whose you are__
Shine and spin like a pulsar
marvelous moon shine
pours onto a classy lass
licks her lips
Under the moon
Under the sun
Sun produce life
Sun burns life
Life is on a cycle
Life is already written
Written villains
Written heroes
Heroes of the past
Heroes of the future
Future wars
Future birth
Birth of a nation
Birth to chaos
Chaos is a gift
Chaos is allowed
Allowed to bring change
Allowed to bring peace
Peace through confusion
Peace through understanding
Understanding life is full of wonder
Understanding life is beautiful
Beautiful creations
Beautiful people
People of the corn
People of this earth
Earth is dying
Earth will live
Live with possibilities
Live judgment free
Free spirit
Free love
Love the journey
Love God
God is with us
God has a story
Story of an ending
Story of a beginning
Beginning of fire
Beginning of a new world
World of peace
World of screams
Screams of pride
Screams of joy
Joy over fear
Joy comes again
Again we play
Again we shine
Shine
Play
It's summer and
the grapes are still unripe.
Which stone inscription of history
shows my presence
in the scene of an eternal life?
I am a raw brick
unbreakable
Shabnam Shirvani
It is the lairiest of epochs
Ignore slop do a pop vox
Chock a block with shocks
But the scariest of tik toks
Snapping like hungry crocs
Another spate of hate docks
Photos that everyone clocks
Those ones who girls mocks
Are as deadly as small pox
Aren't all as strong as an ox
Shaking from online knocks
Drowning in instasham lochs
Stinks like young men's socks
Mistaking that a cure’s botox
Crowning a theory I defrocks
That faking makes you a fox
Solution sells comes out a box
Lies stir fries in corporate woks
Smells fishy like out of date lox
Why jog cheat the elite flocks
Fatty injections vanity smocks
As the poor everything hocks
Pharma firm flogs all its stocks
Not just peahens also peacocks
Androids on steroids rippled jocks
Muscle bound like the Springboks
Why are so many blokes.. cocks?
How about all go on a long detox
Take note your boat you’re the cox
Winner is the inner you which rocks
Fashion rations compassion is bollox!
Through gaping chasms and depths untold,
Thou leadest me into Thy light;
Each grief I bear, each loss I hold,
Makes stronger still my faith's pure might.
Thou carvedst me deep, through trials and knife,
Each cut a step to eternal Life.
The weight of the cross, the sting of the thorn,
In the crucible of love, a new heart is born.
Through shadows that linger, through starless night,
Thou’rt grinding my edges till I shine just right.
Every scar tells the story of Grace,
Every flaw touched by a Saviour’s embrace.
Like a diamond in the rough, I was hidden, unseen,
But Thy hands, O Lord, make the broken gleam.
Like stars above,
I’ll reflect Thy boundless love.
Purified by suffering’s flame,
I’ll rise and glorify Thy name,
A jewel cut by Thy hand.
Let me sparkle in the promised land.
So rest, O soul, in the Saviour’s hand,
For the Master’s touch is never in vain—
Let Him grind and polish as He hath planned.
A humble jewel I shall remain.
Shine, crazy diamond, shine!
Ahhh ahhh ahhh
Waa waa waa waa
Ahhh ahhh ahhh

Body so bright
Lit up my soul
Step into the night
My feet treads, glow
And each and every step
Every breath I take
Midnight steppin
Darkest night dancein
My body is light
I hold the light
Darkest dances with me
I step on darkness
For I be embodied light
We shine now together
For I be light
Shine, shine, shine mi bodi so shine, shine, shine, shine in de light

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr.2026
dim light
a flicker soft
recalls a past dream of love
in a park lit with silver shine
now just a memory.
Warm under the sun
Doing things just fine
With me having a run
Her eyes rose with shine.
Cozy under the moon
Counting the planets nine
Feeding me with her spoon
Her eyes rose with shine.
