Self Acceptance Poems | Examples

My soul was killing my flaws

I look at my soul killing its flaws. I appreciate it and let it do so. But when I came back to earth to show them a perfect human, I realized my mistakes made me who I am. Without my flaws, I am just a perfect human—but not me.

The Hearts Flame

allow self love
be the flame
that light the
wick within
allow true love
be the energy
to keep the spark
so flame stay lit
accept your true self
for the protection
of that flame
that burn endlessly

Premium Member Coming Home to Yourself

There will come a time
when your reflection feels like home again.
You’ll open the door
to what you've been avoiding for years—
and it will be you, standing there,
unarmed, unashamed.

You will take out the old stories
you tucked away
and read them with new eyes,
not the ones who loved you then,
but through the quiet voice that has always seen you
and held you through the silence.

This time, you’ll sit
not to fill the space,
but to be present with the truth
you’ve been swallowing whole.
Receive. Settle.
Let the hunger finally rest.

Premium Member A Quiet Knowing

There’s no need to look further than this moment,
no need to reach or strive.

The spirit is here, as steady as your heartbeat—
gentle, like the warmth of hands intertwined,
as familiar as the ground beneath your bare feet.

Listen—
in the quiet between each thought,
a soft truth emerges, complete and unshattered,
reminding us:
you are already home.

               Stiil, autumnal nights.

                   My soul burning so bright.

                Being fully, who I am.

Not a slave to any human.

Premium Member Beyond Every Frame

I’m not for every eye to see,
a quiet truth that lives in me.
Steady in heart, grounded and whole,
I guard the light within my soul.

I may not bend to each demand;
my roots hold firm where I stand.
Through scars and stumbles, I claim the road,
guided by courage to bear the load.

If I don’t fit the world’s tight mold,
I’ll shape my life with hands untold,
for I’m not bound to every frame,
and what I am won’t fear the flame.

I Feared

I feared their rejection
But I still had to stand,
It hurt
My squeezed heart in their hands

I dreaded being different,
Until I found my way,
I found myself
In my thoughts throughout the day

I worried what they'd think,
Until I claimed my voice,
Their opinions held no power,
A truth that brings me joy

I feared the pain of endings,
Till I remembered the things done & said
Each closing door an opportunity,
Of new doors opening ahead

I hated being called "weak,"
Because of my empathy,
In vulnerability,
When there was strength in me.

I feared failure,
Until I learned from my mistakes—
In every stumble, every fall,
I kept moving into a better place

I feared sorrow,
Until I felt it’s burn and it’s spark—
From pain,
I birthed beauty in these marks

I feared change,
Until I made it a dance,
Rhythm and flow,
A beat in another chance

I feared solitude,
Being alone in any place
But in that loneliness
I learned to love my space.

I feared my uniqueness,
Until I believed,
In every flaw and difference,
I’m uniquely me

          “Forgiveness is a funny thing.
It warms the heart and cools
           the sting,”

            Author: William Arthur Ward

Walking can really help daily stress.
Prayer and meditation, do I bless!

Writing poetry that fills you with pride.
Puts a lift in your step, this I do abide.

Reading a comment, makes your soul fly.
Fear not being ignored, they do come by.

Simply stated, above all, just be pure you.
You’re God’s creation, and no one is like you!

Self-Acceptance

If you feel guilty
Don't blame it on others will
Quite accept simply.
Form: Haiku

No

I want you to say no?
Do you feel like you’re enough?
Do you feel like you will ever find happiness?
Do you feel like you will ever be content?
Do you feel like you have a purpose?

Will you let that stop you?
Will you give up?
Will you stop trying your best?

No One Is Perfect But

There once was a man,
And he thought his skin was too white,
He got a little tan,
Started eating rice

But he started thinking,
What's wrong with myself?
Was god wrong making my skin?
Am I rejected, or doing this made me win?

Who you were, you still are,
It's the inside that matters,
You don't have to argue for other's sake!
No one is perfect,
Don't think that you are

If you think that your health doesn't matter,
And people don't tell you the truth,
What is science, is science,
Don't take the other route!

No one is perfect,
And no one can truly be,
If how you look matters to you,
There is just something that you don't see.

No one is perfect,
But you are perfect in the way you are,
Health, a real truth,
No one tells lies, and there are no aliens on mars!

There are no secrets,
And in this era you are not 'oppressed',
Achieve something or do something that is true!
You are perfect in the way you are,
So stop being distressed!

Embrace Your Beautiful Self Share Your Beautiful Soul

This is for anyone who doubts how beautiful they are. Don't be fooled by social media and individual bravado. Most people have something they're self-conscious about, whether it's even noticeable to others.

Embrace your inner beauty and remember that your soul shines more beautifully through your eyes than any makeup or outfit. Your smile still remains the most beautiful thing in the world to someone.

Share your beautiful soul. Share your beautiful smile. You never know what a difference it can make.

Letter To My Healing Self

Dear healing self, this is a letter to you,

FORGIVENESS:
With words of forgiveness and love so true,
For letting others hurt you, I'm sorry for the pain,
For not giving you the love you deserve, I take the blame.
I forgive others for the mistakes that they've made,
And I apologize for the mess that I have laid,
Let's move forward with acceptance in our heart,
Knowing that everything happens and we'll never fall apart.

ACCEPTANCE:
Let's live in the reality and not our emotions,
For not everyone can be our favorite notions,
But that's okay, we'll accept it and let it pass,
And focus on the present, where our true happiness will amass.

SELF-LOVE:
Most importantly, I'll never abandon you,
I'll be your best friend and your strength too,
I'll love you for who you are, and nothing more,
Together, we'll overcome anything that lies in store.

Rejection Into Self Acceptance

Fight back tears
Certain fears
Felt rejection
Choose election
Acceptance of self
Use a book upon a shelf
Look into why
Let that little girl cry
Stay in tune
For what’s coming soon
Is big change from within
With the guidance and love from Him
He knows my name
And what I fear
I hear His answers clear
Thank you for this day
Forever with Him is what I pray
Thank you God for all You’ve done
Got me through when I was young
Now I’m in just today
Holding Your hand
One of many in the band
