It's the new crank call
A bridgeless troll
A keyboard warrior
In private euphoria
It's a disconnection
On-screen reflection
On enters press
Eternal numbness
It's a devil's advocate
A spineless strut
A hit-and-run
Of thoughtless fun
It's the new crank call
The death of soul
A bridgeless troll
The blackest hole
One night I 'met' someone I thought was meant for me.
We 'talked' for hours while our souls aligned perfectly.
Each night brought our minds to blissful sync.
Sometimes I worried, "What does he really think?"
He adamantly professed his love for me
And beguilled me with ethereal poetry.
His silver words so mystically divine,
I thought them from a higher realm than mine.
He captured my heart totally in his net.
When the scam was revealed, I only felt regret.
Alas, nothing on the dark web is what it seems.
Just another deviant low-life crushing dreams.
Is it the latest scam, three its dead blamed on rats..Bubonic shaded.? Just think on that.' Astra zenenca started trialling a drug
To combat the black death, is there a rub.?
In July 2020 while other headlines were big
Yet these people died from heart illness what gives.? I know myocarditis has been up since 2021..What a co-incidence and maybe? Then some..Rats causing heart deaths is a new one on me.' Just how pushy can big pharma be, could it be health deteriation was what was planned?
And don't rats just galvanise reactions.?
As science and feelings stand.'
Well, here is the truth for you all,
since you had no idea you are a
part of one big scam called Poetry Soup
which charges you for the anthology
just so you can see your own poem,
so that means don't be upset because
you were not accepted into Anthology that
has close to a 1000 poets in it and even more poems,
they take everything and anything and pretend
like they had to read all of the works and then decide,
it is a nonsense and be happy that you did not get accepted!
My poem got accepted and i cant read it, because they want me to buy
the book just so i can see my poem in it.
Now this whole place could be a scam,
because if they can scam us through Anthology
that means they do not give three s about what we write!
Diverse Voices is a scam, Poetry soup is a scam,
the whole internet is a scam, and the only way
you will be able to accept this fact is to stop posting here,
and for over 20 years this scam has been taking our poetry
in exchange for profit of which we get 0. How is this poem for a change?
Truth hurts that is why nobody wants to hear it.
DIVERSE VOICES MY ASS!

Served for a century quite well.' Less hype
More reality, my intuition tells.' Better climate better living better all around..No
Not perfection.' Only in God is such found'
half of the people on Facebook
are running a scam
the other half
are falling for it
and the rest
are watching cat videos
like monks chanting into the void.
everybody’s smiling—
teeth too white,
lives too perfect,
money falling from the sky
if you’ll just click here
and believe hard enough.
old friends message me
with the enthusiasm of used-car salesmen,
calling me “brother”
after thirty years of silence,
asking if I want freedom,
wealth,
or a miracle before Tuesday.
there’s a woman from high school
selling enlightenment for $19.99,
a man who never read a book
teaching success,
and a guru who can’t sit still
telling me how to find peace.
meanwhile
the real disasters
sit quietly in the corners—
rent due,
lungs hurting,
loneliness eating a sandwich alone
at midnight.
Facebook calls it connection.
I call it a bar
where everyone’s drunk
and lying about how good they’re doing.
still, I scroll.
because hope is a stubborn disease
and even a scam
looks warm
when the night is long
and the world keeps asking
for just one more click.

Damn!

I met my perfect partner in the gym,
He gently catered to my wildest whim.
My every mood
He understood -
Turned out I wed transgender Pam, not Tim.
But by the time the fluid truth sank in,
He/She/They, Me were bonded skin to skin.
Pam, I love you,
#Hashtag Me Too -
Happily Ever After lies within.
Scam Likely called me eleven times yesterday
Fifty-two times this week
I do not pick up
I used to though
When I was younger sales calls were a personal challenge to me.
I wanted to see if I could make them hang up first.
Salesman: Do you own your own home?
Me: No, but I would love to. Can you send me some money?
Salesman: Would you love to have new windows?
Me: I live in a tent down by the river.
Salesman: I can give you a terrific insurance quote
Me; What’s that?
Salesman (or Scam Likely): I can tell you how to save money
Me: I save money by not paying for insurance.
When my children were younger, I discovered something marvelous.
If you hand the phone to a toddler, the child is delighted.
Babbling, gurgling and burping into the receiver with glee.
Scam Likely hangs up first every time.
Sweet words, gilded lies,
Empty promises unfold,
Wallet's hollow sigh.

The consistency of mystery
Drenched in it's simplicity
Wrought with what would seem to be
To our participants complacency
For a golden opportunity
A trick our minds eye think they see
If not thought through quite logically
A flim-flam conjured carefully
Too easy to take willingly
For those grasping at something free
Fruit hanging low on fabled tree
So true it is too good to be
To test human morality
When seeking answers desperately
In a place that's not quite fair.
We've all had them
those phone calls, every day
trying to take your money
all of it, in any way
A lot lose their money
many just hang up
but what about those phoning?
do they really clean up?
What if that is all you had?
the only way to eat
would you go home at night
knowing you'd taken someone's heartbeat?
Could you do it every day?
scam innocent people
and still go to sleep at night
without jumping off a steeple?
Do scammers have a conscience?
do they even care?
would they do it to your face
when they see the real despair?
A singular failure is the alarm
When used to late morning sleepers disarm
For as soon as it rings
They turn off the damn thing
And don't wake up 'til work's done on the farm
