Anthology is a scam and we are all victims!

Well, here is the truth for you all,
since you had no idea you are a
part of one big scam called Poetry Soup
which charges you for the anthology
just so you can see your own poem,
so that means don't be upset because
you were not accepted into Anthology that
has close to a 1000 poets in it and even more poems,
they take everything and anything and pretend
like they had to read all of the works and then decide,
it is a nonsense and be happy that you did not get accepted!
My poem got accepted and i cant read it, because they want me to buy
the book just so i can see my poem in it.
Now this whole place could be a scam,
because if they can scam us through Anthology
that means they do not give three s about what we write!
Diverse Voices is a scam, Poetry soup is a scam,
the whole internet is a scam, and the only way
you will be able to accept this fact is to stop posting here,
and for over 20 years this scam has been taking our poetry
in exchange for profit of which we get 0. How is this poem for a change?
Truth hurts that is why nobody wants to hear it.

By raining on the ADMINS' parade, you are also raining on the members who want to proudly march in the parade. When PS stretches its wings, it generates more interest in new members and advertisers signing on, which in turn helps this site to grow. That's the big picture I want to see.

I don't think being published in the anthology is a scam, the info from admin is quite clear and you have free choice to purchase the book or not. I have not submitted to any of the anthologies as I have self published but I can understand why other poets choose to do so.

I will never submit to any other anthologies either Art, and seeing the poor reviews of the editing/ bad printing of this one I am glad I didnt! would love to see if they donate some money to charity or maybe it's just a carrot they dangle!

Scammers do not force you, they convince you, never find me in one, all I am saying.

Davorin, I do respect your opinion but we were all informed that submitting to the anthology was by choice and optional. We were informed that we would not get anything in return. No free anthology book, no royalties. I chose to submit some of my poems as an opportunity to have some of my poems published. I am not in a place in my life to publish my own book. I don't think it is a scam.

I agree with you Tania. Also admin wrote that money can be given to charities by some anthologies - not sure if they meant any of theirs but it would be nice to see something given back. hugs jan x
