Premium Member Thyme and Lavender Time

Thyme and Lavender, in time to purify where Earth meets feet,
Bathed in springs, so soothing and sweet.
Nature's spirituous spices give blessings,
And they're forever making the winds refreshing.
Wise chefs blend the cauldron of spices,
Herbal passages to culinary horizons.

Kin to mint, Thyme's a delight to nature's family.
Thyme is said to guard against ancient immunity.
Aromatherapy with Thyme lifts one's mind
To realms marked by stars and roots intertwined.
Thyme's perfume sings through stones and blooms,
So gather it reverently before it enhances indoor rooms.

Lavender also smells great
On one's body or served on a plate.
In moonlight rites, it's added to the bath
As a charm for various cures of the homeopath.
It springs from the soil with other chanting plants.
Then, with maritime breeze affinity, it surely enchants.

Thyme and Lavender would float fancy-free
With Enchantresses bathing happily.
Thyme and Lavender will endure in time,
And enhance lives when added to one's paradigm.
Pleasing us each and every day,
These spices sweeten time's sachet.
They soothe us in their scented displays
In the mornings and at twilight's grand display!

Sun, Sand and Sea

Walking barefoot along the beach
the sun is setting over the waters
and it paints the sky orange and pink.
The wet sand squishes between my toes,
I take a deep breath of the salty air
close my eyes and listen to
the squawk of the gulls and
the waves lapping the shore.
Enamored of the magical moon
the waves of the sea rise reverently and
passionately race to engulf the shore,
Besotted, my heart yearns to embrace
my beloved in my longing arms.

Premium Member The Harmony Tree

My thoughts of this world lie troubled and profound
As I pause drenched in the golden hues of copper fields
Stretched to the limit of the bronzed horizons that crowned
Beaming with the aspiration of assured hope revealed

As the sun wraps reverently all around
Where old familiars have settled to retreat
I have come where tranquility and serenity abound
Looking for a place of peace

I stand uplifted by a fabled tree of legendary rhyme
That laid its roots sublimely patterned in story
To furrow richly in the swelling soil of time
Gently resting within its landscape’s glory

It grew ever so magnificently
Harvesting the goodness of adaptation
In perfect unison with nature's severity
Relinquished in the passing of generations

Strong and textured with roughness and age
From the scars of hardship it dwells
In its simplicity and synchronicity-a musical page
A soothing lullaby-a song of peace and farewell

And in that golden light I am reminded we must
In a world amid calamity, despair and strife
Find ourselves in this place of calmness and trust
Amidst gardens of hope glowing with harmonious life

Premium Member Surrender

I trembled when I realized his intent
Bodies clinging, we swam fathoms deep
surrendering to each other as lovers
   passionately torrid, yet reverently tender

Premium Member Raining in Summer

In skies of gray I dwell
inside of clouds,
keeping company with mugginess
and sweltering heat.

People who labor underneath me
perspire profusely; some curse.
Others pray for me
to cut their labor short.

Yes, they pray for rain.
I hear their cries,
for I’ve been mustering steam
during days and days of dreadful drought.

Pitter patter pitter patter
Their plaintive pleas I answer teasingly.
Starting slow. I dole out droplets
drop by drop by tiny drop

The droplets increase . . . plop plop plop.
Wind joins in - wailing.
Trees tremble as I splatter them
with wonderful wetness for the prayerful.
Swoosh! Ker-plunk!
I’m drumming and drumming,
pouring myself down
on thirsting flowers with heads bowed
to reverently receive me.

Umbrellas appear all over the streets.
Gleefully, I pound them, hammering away.
I pounce on the heads of uncovered people.
Soaking grass and soil,
filling rain gutters, and
sliding joyously off many hard surfaces,
I saturate every place that I’m able to outside.

I am rain, and unceasingly
this summer day,
I reign
supreme.

                                           Beauty neglected
                                       slender deciduous tree
                                          Engulfing my heart
                                      Reverently crowned today
                                   swaying in the evening breeze

Premium Member His Eyelashes

His eyelashes were next to mine
that night I gazed into dark eyes
that drank me in like a fine wine.
I felt as if I were a prize!

Reverently he traced my face.
His eyelashes were next to mine.
Oh, never will my mind erase
the sweetness of that night divine.

He teased me that it was a sign.
When eyes meet, butterflies can kiss.
His eyelashes were next to mine,
and all that followed was pure bliss!

I can’t recall stars in the sky,
but I could feel my spirit shine
because a star that night was I!
His eyelashes were next to mine.

Premium Member A Mystical Night

it is two a.m.
dogs and I go outside
the air is balmy, a gentle breeze
it feels like we are the only beings awake on the planet
the solitude is enhanced by a gorgeous smoky sky
no moon, no stars, no sounds
except the dogs footprints in the grass
a whisper of a sound
I feel it is God and us
the dogs sit reverently
it is a mystical night
I take photos expecting to see orbs

Premium Member What Was Written

Long night. Sleepless.
I heard an owl, its call
filtering through the tall trees,
writing itself on the lush silence.
Other sounds followed reverently,
a moth whispering its powdery
presence somewhere in the room,
then, the soft padded footsteps
of a possum walking gently
across the rooftop of an evening
back into silence.

I tapped into the private
conversations the house
was having with itself, the creaks
and groans, the stifled gurgle
bubbled up from a troubled pipe
and from downstairs, an unknown
bump that gave no hint of cause.
The house carried on with this
chatter for hours then fell quiet
and perfectly still.

Later, I heard the dampened throb
of a locomotive coming in and out
of earshot as it skirted the far
reaches of the dawn, then a screech
of car brakes from a nearby street
causing the nerves to brace.
Too soon morning comes
with its hurry, erasing the silence
upon which this was written.
Time now for sleep.

Premium Member A Discreetly Broken Cloud At Sunset

Sunshine beams so directly onto a discreetly broken cloud
The tree line below it beckons thee so somber so proud
The cloud replies so reverently so utterly loud
Won't you stay with me? I plea darkness is such a shroud

Premium Member Godly Fear Begins With God - Proverbs 1: 7

Proverbs is a wonderful book
telling the reader all that's true
considering it with deep thought
it makes such real sense to you

'The fear of the Lord' makes one halt
it brings you to stop in your tracks
to ponder and deeply think about God
so you question yourself about your lack

God is bigger and greater than you
being eternal before, future, and now
true knowledge begins and ends with the Lord
calling you reverently to humbly bow

The majority of this world are fools
despising wisdom and godly instruction
no matter how much God shows His love
they reject His message of spiritual resurrection

Knowledge begins with the fear of God
be sure that's your motto all your days
make life a joy in the Lord's presence
abide in God's word obey all that He says

('The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.')

Premium Member Opening

How reverently he removes the seal,
   anticipating the fragrance,
   the first small taste,
   remembering the warmth and
   laughter of the party,
   parties, the bar, the taverns,
   the men, the women,
   long-tailed cigarette smoke curling.

His tongue unconsciously caresses
   the corner of his mouth
   as his left hand cups
   the shoulder of the bottle
gently and firmly as a lover.

Drawing a penknife from his pocket
he pulls open the blade to cut
the black band binding the cap,
   his lips slightly pursed,
   engrossed in the process.

Deftly flicking the cap,
   he lays it aside and pauses;
   it takes only a moment
   for the subtle vapors
   to lift to his nostrils.

Not quite a smile,
   something even more
   expressive of pleasure,
   a submission,
   a peace that fills him
   as if coming home
   from an arduous journey.

He pours.

Walking Towards Bliss

Yea, though I walk through the portal to eternal bliss

I shall fear no evil but respect the darkness

For yonder I see the reason I am here

The bright light of forever beckons me

I follow bravely but reverently.

Premium Member You Are Always In My Heart

Even if I am oceans away, you and I are never apart,
Whether near or afar, you are always in my heart
Trekking through terrains of life, valiantly by my side,
Traversing miles and miles, preening smiles of pride;

Upon dreary barren lands or pristine-blue sea shore,
Reveling dreams endearing or defeating woes of yore
That seasons of yesteryears reverently fetch to fore,
Turning pages of albums, memories-kindled implore;

Lauding missives of love our indulgent youth chose,
Humming fervid melody, rhythms dulcet compose,
Invoking verses mellifluous, sensuous souls extol,
Serenading love treasured; passions of hearts cajole.

Transport me back, dear, to revered times we long,
Recite words of romance choreographing our song
Reclaiming the fervor, vowing, together we belong,
Warbling hymns of allegiance, reverberating lifelong;

And hold me there, love, as rhythms euphonic impart
Promise of passion eternal: you are always in my heart,
Relishing lifetime together, whether of joy or sorrow,
Whether of springs bygone or the autumns of morrow.
