Premium Member Surrender

I trembled when I realized his intent
Bodies clinging, we swam fathoms deep
surrendering to each other as lovers
   passionately torrid, yet reverently tender

Became Their Slave

Became Their Slave

To both God and Son became Their slave;
My mind and soul to them reverently gave;
Jesus died for me;
From sins set free;
His body once had been buried in a cave.

Premium Member A Discreetly Broken Cloud At Sunset

Sunshine beams so directly onto a discreetly broken cloud
The tree line below it beckons thee so somber so proud
The cloud replies so reverently so utterly loud
Won't you stay with me? I plea darkness is such a shroud

Walking Towards Bliss

Yea, though I walk through the portal to eternal bliss

I shall fear no evil but respect the darkness

For yonder I see the reason I am here

The bright light of forever beckons me

I follow bravely but reverently.

SYMPHONY

Searching the audience
Young and old in rapt attention
Maestro, Bernstein, has come on stage
Players have done their final warm up
House lights are dimmed
Only the foots and high spots remain
No one stirs, all are reverently expectant
You know this work – it’s Schubert – relax

                                          Engulfing my heart
                                      Reverently crowned today

In deep amaze
       Heaven smiles
       Silent luna beams

       Holy songs
       Earthly flames
       Gently falls

       Soft and hushed
       Reverently kneeling
       Touching a newborn child

       Bright angels praises

Premium Member The Heart of the Forsaken

The heart of the forsaken do not yearn to be set free
from their never ending joyless lives suicidally,
but rather seek a savior prayed for reverently
to rescue the hearts of all the forsaken with love's sincerity.
The savior may come to be anyone sharing their love so generously.
The heart of the forsaken can very well be awakened through saviors such as you and me.

Premium Member A Mystical Night

it is two a.m.
dogs and I go outside
the air is balmy, a gentle breeze
it feels like we are the only beings awake on the planet
the solitude is enhanced by a gorgeous smoky sky
no moon, no stars, no sounds
except the dogs footprints in the grass
a whisper of a sound
I feel it is God and us
the dogs sit reverently
it is a mystical night
I take photos expecting to see orbs
sky

Knowing How To Love

I don't know anyway to love you
 Than the way I do
I tried to call the four winds
 they weren't enough
 I've traveled a dusty lane
 And visited a shaman

All in the search for clarity

I don't know anyway to show my love
 I grasped at stars
 And fumbled a galaxy
 I watched a night bloom
As the last ray of day died
 In supplication I knelt

Reverently I show my love
The only way I know how

A Mary Grotto

She slips quietly
into the semi-circle of the grotto,
reverently lights a votive candle.

A pretty girl, her form drags my eyes
away from the plaster virgin
into a carnal daydream.

She does the whole Catholic thing.
As she intones her rosery
her body invades my senses.

When I look again, she is crying
Some loved one badly needs her prayers?

I check myself to see if I am shrinking –
I think I am.

Empty Seeds

From shells of emptiness they come.
No one knows how they appear.

In the gardening books, lots of writing.
In the dark empty seed -
only one sound,
a word not found on any shelf.

We observe that nothingness,
watch it create gardens and forests.

Knowing little,
we talk much
of the giant Sequoia.

Some break out and scatter
the empty Redwood seeds,

reverently they plant them
in more strata’s of nothingness.

By Rites

by rites we come into now
by rites we leave into then
by rites we mark the in between
by rites maybe we start again

by rites we say "I love you"
by rites we bring on progeny
by rites we launch into unknown
by rites we cleave dichotomy

by rites we celebrate today
by rites we mark contrast
by rites we are carried away
by rites we remember the past

by rites we reverently resolve
so, by rites kept, life revolves

The Last Time

because this may be
the last time
I sing this song
sincerely and reverently
into open air
in this place
that knows my stride
through braided seasons
seemingly without end

I sing
as the cardinal
opens the day
radiant in golden hue

I sing for you
as the song dances on air
in the intervals
between sound and silence

I sing
because this time
shall be unlike any other
echoing in the place
memory reserves as its own

Premium Member Those Who Saw Remembered

Frothy lavender chiffon swirled around the young beauty
Rustling in an almost silent delicate, dainty manner
Her essence so cosmic that the skies emulated her loveliness
The heavens opened up to envelope her into the landscape

Many who saw recognized spirituality and hope taking place
Some watched reverently full of mystified awe and wonder
Almost everyone who witnessed her remembered this day
Intermittently through the rest of their life.

If This Is the Last Song

because this may be
the last time
I sing this song
sincerely and reverently
in this place
that knows my voice
and follows my stride
through braided seasons
seemingly without end

I sing
as the cardinal
opens the day
radiant in golden hue

I sing for you
as the song dances on air
filling the intervals between
sound and silence

I sing
because this time
shall be unlike any other
echoing in the place
memory reserves as its own

Sun, Sand and Sea

Walking barefoot along the beach
the sun is setting over the waters
and it paints the sky orange and pink.
The wet sand squishes between my toes,
I take a deep breath of the salty air
close my eyes and listen to
the squawk of the gulls and
the waves lapping the shore.
Enamored of the magical moon
the waves of the sea rise reverently and
passionately race to engulf the shore,
Besotted, my heart yearns to embrace
my beloved in my longing arms.
