A Mystical Night

it is two a.m.
dogs and I go outside
the air is balmy, a gentle breeze
it feels like we are the only beings awake on the planet
the solitude is enhanced by a gorgeous smoky sky
no moon, no stars, no sounds
except the dogs footprints in the grass
a whisper of a sound
I feel it is God and us
the dogs sit reverently
it is a mystical night
I take photos expecting to see orbs

Gazing into the night sky, Nothing better to show how small we are compared to the universe.
