November 22 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Acts 27-28

Key Verse – Acts 27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR CHEERING US
WITH HIS GOODNESS

Praise be to God for cheering us with His goodness despite:
Oppositions opening ridicules
Opponents offering reproaches
Oppressions optimizing their restraints
Objections ostracizing us in their rebukes
Outcomes overwhelming us with reproofs

Acts 28:15 Praise be to the Lord for
giving us courage so we can:
Achieve with commitment by His graciousness
Accept challenges through His goodness
Act along character of gratefulness
Avoid carnality that is grievous
Accomplish for Christ’s glory

Acts 28:38 Praise be to the Saviour for
allowing us to preach His kingdom while:
Trusting His timeliness
Teaching about His truth
Toiling midst tests and trials
Testifying along His trustworthiness
Treading upon His turf and tarrying in His temple. Amen!

Waiting for my Mammogram

While waiting for my mammogram,
A most annoying test,
I had a thought no poetry
Has up to now addressed.

About the ones whose job is
Squeezing every woman’s breast
And manipulating angles
‘Til it’s properly finessed.

With each mammary maneuver,
Getting patients more distressed,
She keeps kneading and adjusting,
Like a potter who’s possessed.

What a way to make a living!
Though it’s time that I confessed
That I feel much better getting
These reproaches off my chest.

 2 Corinthians 12:10 ~ "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
                  ~ The Holy Bible

When I'm bogged down by fears,
Then He reminds, "Be not afraid",
When I'm troubled with tears,
Then He tells me, "Don't be dismayed";
When future's bleak,
He comes along,
When I am weak,
Then am I strong;

When I'm filled with sorrows,
Then He assures, "Be of good cheer",
When I'm tensed 'bout morrows,
Then He comforts, "I'm with you, dear";
When cares exhaust,
He unwinds me,
When I feel lost,
Then He finds me;

When I'm mired in worries,
Then He whispers, "Be filled with peace",
When stalled as time hurries,
Then He confirms, "Wait, be still, cease";
When my feet slip,
He steadies me,
With His strong grip
then readies me.

The Harsh Sea

Splash, Crash, Boom
The clouds go black soon
The storm approaches
As the wind reproaches

The thunder clashes
The lightning flashes
The wave appears
Way to near

Bamm, Slam, Creer
The boat is rocked the end is near
The men dive off with a mighty splash
Listen as the rocks and boat crash

Bubble, Bubble, Bubble
Looks like trouble
As the shark emerges from the blue
Hunting humans that have no clue

Holding on to debris to keep afloat
Praying to God and losing hope
The fin is drawing near
You can smell the fear

Luckily help was at hand
Which assisted them to the land
Dripping water on the sand
Making sure everyone’s at hand

In this so-called modern world today
There's lots of cause for apprehension,
And all the crazy stuff that's going on,
Like the hubbub up in Washington,
Where no one's getting nothing done,
Is only adding to the tension.

It's not that I don't care about
The cost of healthcare, global warming,
And homelessness, and poverty,
And gender inequality,
But sheer governmental lunacy
Is what, to me, is most alarming.

I express my views as best I can,
Never preen, or preach, or yammer,
Keep disdain in check, reproaches small,
And strive through verse to rise above it all,
But now and then when gentler words begin to gall,
I'm rather glad poetic license lets me call
Upon the recourse of bad grammar.

A Talent In Rot

He is a talent in rot;
From what his assessors got:
A magic no more wrought
For weeks his trainers wrath …

Then, again came his slot
And he tried his hard lot
But ended it in Naught;
Reproaches for A-Who-Could-Not …

Only better than a plain dot,
No more able to hold his fort
And thus a stuff to cease adding in a pot
So that no chef screams A Dietician’s “What!”

Indeed, A Shaming Rot!

Mad Love

Flash floods forecast hurrying steps and wheels ahead of foreboding clouds pregnant as eyelids welling with tears of baptismal rain to cleanse earth's skirt of its mire of blood and dust of blinding confusion with thunder of reproaches and flash of lightning clarity. I had been standing, gaze switching from red eye turning yellow to the traffic slowly rolling in one lane, in the next
a car came speeding forward unaware of the pedestrian, head down, hurrying into its path. In an instant making eternity: Rainbow splendor!

slow car swerving right
blocks car missing collision
saving the man's life

Land of Non Sense

When the doodle
of the people opine
and the piss spore
squeeze,
there will be fields and tundras
in the deep hollow of
moonlight winery ...

Scope of voids
the crazy ones will say;
Reproaches from satires,
will say the maindenhair ...
But from the bottom of the galleys
veracity will arise
of the few
and the amplitude like microbes
will be reborn ...
Then it will be a new drought,
will govern the atypical;
with the goths, the dievas
without the Gentiles.
No one else will live
this pantomime, everyone
will see solicitude
express in life
on edges ...

Our Life Our Choice

Our life is our choice...
Things happen at a moment in time...it's like a seed germinating. When it occurred in the wrong place at wrong time no one was responsible for it. It had a right to live and grow. But we decided to abandon it as we adopted a framed mindset and life. Wrong was our thought as for God everything is right. Call it nature, call it fate ..your choice.

So, there should be no reproaches to God for doing what we chose and what we endured. God gave us and we refused.

Now, we cannot keep knocking at God's door for compensation in other kinds for the choices we see as sacrifices made in convenience to our life and lifestyle.

Premium MemberOnward To My Celestial Abode

Celestial radiance…
...brightened by God’s eternal love
Cheers me up in my earthly sojourn…
…as a pilgrim vanquishing sin-inflicted throes
Beheld by divine witnesses far above the firmament...
…in circumspectly treading service-paths!

With faith’s pinion…
…I march toward my heavenly* abode
Subduing tendency to be lissome in my spirit……
…For my soul’s triumphant repose
While trusting my sovereign Guide…
…midst reproaches that besmirch my testimony!

*Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Premium MemberLeman Strife

Twenty cigarette ashes in the ivory ashtray
Symbol of the impatience burned as smoke
The inamorata sits in the pink chaise lounge
Waiting for inamorato arriving to love nest

Photos found under the bed tied off an arguing
Another affair developed without her knowledge
Feeling betrayed, although fidelity was not an asset
Stripped photos and dispersed pieces over the bed

Inamorato opened the bedroom door and screamed
Hidden dalliance loomed as as a storm in the future
Reproaches ended with the rupture of unlawful love
Leaving forever the tormentous and sinful romance

Sheep So Docile Graze

When eyes which once gave glances of sweet love
Now send such  cruel reproaches to my heart;
When grace uncalled for descended like a dove
But now with pain my skin,once kind, does smart....

At times these days of grief and loss seem harsh
As if some demon owns my inmost heart.
And without grace my lips are dry and parched..
with fear I shiver,tremble and I  start.

Shall I attempt retaliation for this hurt?
What weapon shall I use to vent my rage?
my lips were never fashioned to be curt.
My soul,no warrior eager war to wage

How shall I find my way out of this maze,
back to green fields where sheep so docile graze?

Wanderer

I, the wanderer, set out;
A journey
to overcome life’s oppression.
Fear crouches;
Always ready to attach depression.
Lurking,
life so unfair;
Monster in my dreams,
Waiting to unleash despair.

So many thoughts,
I hold desperately to hope,
To persevere and overcome
On this journey for which I’ve come.
Dare I trust while darkness enfolds?
Tired and often overwhelmed,
 To hope I hold.
Trusting peace will come again
When darkness disappears
Because love will triumph
And light dispels my fears.

I, the wanderer, set out;
A journey to overcome;
To see how far I’ve come;
Trust elusive as fear encroaches,
Peace reproaches;
But darkness stays the course
With no remorse.

Pain of Mockery

I pray to thee to remove reproaches,
Day after day I shed tears on my bed,
Sadness doubles for all their approaches,

Tired of poisonous words which I`m been fed,
poverty and joblessness bite so hard,
day after day I shed tears on my bed.

True success has been issued a red card,
making me hopeless as I toil in vain,
poverty and joblessness bite so hard

Being abandoned by friends brings severe pain,
becoming laughing stock makes me feel shame,
making me hopeless as I toil in vain.

Childlessness and poverty are the same,
Death without trace is a better option,
becoming laughing stock makes me feel shame,

My heart and bone wane for this wrong notion,
I pray to thee to remove reproaches,
Death without trace is a better option,
Sadness doubles for all their approaches.
