All my life I have always stammered
but looking back through the years
there's been in my mind that first word
this has haunted me considering the fear

Throughout life through the good and bad
I've always wondered what was the word
that started me off on my downward spiral
wishing I could have soured like a bird

If I Could Relive One Day

I am reliving June 29th, 2014, a warm, happy day.
Four of my grandchildren are here, spending a week.
They are each in a garbage can filled with water shooting each other
with water pistols, and especially loving that they can shoot me.
I am grandma, and this is Cousin’s Camp. Rules are out the window.

Christmas is the one time when we can safely dig deep into our memories,
Looking for pearls instead of lemons,
The one time we dare to hope for a different outcome this year,
Where children actually come first,
And tears more often come from a place of joy,
It is a time where online searches are for digging up friends
