Christmas the Best Time To Relive the Past

Christmas is the one time when we can safely dig deep into our memories, Looking for pearls instead of lemons, The one time we dare to hope for a different outcome this year, Where children actually come first, And tears more often come from a place of joy, It is a time where online searches are for digging up friends from the past, And finding bad memories to delete. It is a time when we spend more time seeking fellowship, And less on trying to sink the ship, It is a time when we move into the light, But are careful not to hog the limelight. Christmas is the one time when we look to the past, For the good deeds of others, So we can tell their mothers, It is a time when Open homes replace the for sale sign, With a bottle of the best wine. Remembering the past at Christmas could make life divine, Give you a Dickens of a time, And thoughts mostly sublime, You may even find an extra line, To add to this rhyme, As on your past you dine.
