Memories intruding my solitude

An awful crowd intrudes my solitude,
When memories rush while I brood,
But ere long pass on in sudden rush
And before I know they flood bank to bank.
I think of using bridge to go across,
But I find it far from easy---
The flood that overflows pushes me back,
And I never before knew that
A crowd of one can be so overwhelming.
 … … … … …
Yet, as the waters settle,
And as I get used to the quiet,
Memories do seem like
The ash on an unguent stick
To be cleared now and then,
Or seem like essence eased out of a bottle,
The stick cannot light up my lamp,
Nor bottled fragrance stays forever,
And so do memories.

And I take solace in the fact
That memory’s like a crazy woman
Who hoards her tattered rags
And throws away her good raiment.

Illusion

When knowledge fades, the fables fill our halls:
So truth is mingled with a fancied bird
That candlelight outlines on homely walls.
What once was held as fact was slowly blurred,
And time and wit combined to mend its shred,
And stitch it clean to an embroidered past;
Each of our fathers took on him the thread,
To weave the raiment fair that it may last.
For naked truth is loathsome to the eye:
It needs the gaudy dye and glinting light,
Lest it be cast away as 'twere a lie.
Yet by such lies forgotten days grow bright,
For a clear sight of yesteryear is lost;
But glory ever came at shameful cost.

VICTORY IN CHRIST

He died
so that I could win
His blood
shedded for my sins

victory in Christ
was gifted to me
Jesus's death
afforded me life eternally

I have victory over death
from the resurrection of Christ
my sins now forgiven
as I traverse this Christian life

victory in Christ
was gifted to me
Jesus's death
afforded me life eternally

I now walk in freedom
no longer shackled, no longer bound
I now walk in God's grace
upon sacred and fertile ground
those filthy rags of death
have been removed and replaced
righteous raiment i now wear
saturated with God's saving grace

victory in Christ
was gifted to me
Jesus's death
afforded me life eternally

His precious blood flowed
to wash away my sins
His resurrection over death
assured me the win

victory in Christ
was gifted to me
Jesus's death
afforded me life eternally

victory in Christ
over every aspect of my living
victory in Christ
eternity to me was given

Hello, Ego.

In this contest, I am to disrobe you.

Is that OK? Thanks.

What do I see?

What I expected to see—

Continued Universal Human Cluelessness.

It hides beneath the raiment of all egos.

Here is the Philosophy of Broader Survival.

It elevates your mind above cluelessness

and takes the pressure off of you.

You’re welcome.

Dappled pointless drizzled thoughts,
zephyr voices, shadow moods:
you’ve tried all kinds of games to play—
where your glance-born sunlight fits,
where your whispered meadows lay,
when the seasons autograph
your worn-out practiced smiles…

I have but eleven remaining lines
to wax poetic over you:
to sate your clueless need to shine
while posing on a cloudy ‘morn;
that blooms when basking in the dark;
that you will eventually leave behind
when I straighten-out your wayward mind
with a future mode of deeper thoughts
sitting in your lap today,
just beneath your clever lips…

I’ll then see you, disrobed, in a diorama
In a museum’s Wing of Cluelessness.

I hear nothing but the
Cold wind
Whizzing past my
Ears
Likewise
It's brush against your
Visage's curtain
Exposing voluptuous
Your lips

I see the cold's effect
Upon your breast's
Titillating raiment
I see the wind hath
Caused the scatter of
Every your
Gold and sand
Tresses

Aye
Cloak and dagger
Left at your billet's
Entry
I taste
Beyond my
Express

Desperate ours
Enhancing your boudoir
Drapes retracted
Opened panes
The biting wind
Upon your settee
Rolls with ours

Premium Member The Lady in White

Upon the hallowed ground past midnight sighs
'Neath trembling yews and tombstones cold and sere
Did I espy, as the tempest began to rise
A maiden clothed in spectral white appears
Her ghostly raiment danced upon the restless air
Her visage pale with sorrow finely drawn
Betwixt the graves she glided into our ghastly affair
Her presence enthralling as the coming dawn
Within her hand a missive she pressed
Gloved fingers clad in evening’s formal hue
She whispered with the wind, she, a soul distressed
“Seek thou the attic there thy fate is due”
Anon the gale did whisk her form away
(Formerly known as Mrs. Emily)
And left me alone to ponder till the day

Epilogue:
After this wraithlike wedding of our souls
I cannot abjure this vision
In my mind it rolls and rolls as it goes
