Premium Member Fight For French Delicacy

I am reporting from Normandy,
where a cheese war has started
between two hospitality business tycoons,
for acquiring the ownership of a shipload
of Brie and Comembert soft and creamy cheese,
heavily consumed popularly in their two outlets,
Wine and Cheese Tavern and Charcuterue Shack.

As the cheese ship arrived,
the owners of these dining holes tried
to negotiate the price with the Captain, but failed,
for both the parties offered increasing competitive bids.
So, the indecisive Captain suggested
they fight out the possession issue
in the cheese war, going on now for two months,
and seems not to end, for no one is winning.
The eventual owner might be getting
a shipload of rotten French delicacy.

Surprise Attack

I’m sure no army prays for it:
It’s a soldier’s safe throat slit!
From behind a troop Rat-Tat-Tat,
A soldier would slump plus his hat…

Popularly, a batch’s ambush
Against them laid in a bush:
Something for which one makes retreats;
To withstand one a thousand feats!

But staccato shots won’t let you:
Fusillades of gun-fire that chew.
If one survived it Hero
But the chances often zero;
Israel had braved Black September’s
Till date a stunt Dad remembers…

Jacob’s sons swooping on Hamor:
The Rapist who’d whopped their sister,
The act to them saddest humor:
They’d chosen, first,  blister!

If you had a surprise attack,
Some eyes had been watching your track,
Then tried to commonsense rack:
For the weight lift of clean and Jerk!

Church

Popularly, the Body of Christ;
So, watch your thanks giving after a heist,
Each Sunday Christians surface in a church,
They have joyously gone there for Christ’s search
Every day in one power-packed prayers;
They’re a permanent debt for us, payers…

No one easily joins a church choir:
A sure voice Good and Bad ones require;
The real church has to be shaped like a Cross,
A winder they now mount ones that look gross;
Of a truth a painful artistic loss;
Some in their churches sing Secular Ross…

Yes, a part of the church is The Nave
And that’s exactly the section I crave!
Why should I stay in a Church’s Transept,
If I’d gone there earlier for The Precept…

Nothing wrong about the vast stone statues;
They’re there as strict reminders of virtues;
My prayers after every church sermon:
They would disappear demons and mammon.

Clegg Finished the Legs of Greg

Mag's lover hasn't been seen since.
Mag does nothing but in pain wince.
Her tall Greg was her world,her Prince.
"Once dead Forget A Come-Back means! "

Hoe was popularly Greg's foe;
Thus,his dad's farm refused to grow.
A lot Greg had slept on a mat
And guessed not he'd be adding fat.
Off he had to go for slimming
And with Kung Fu started trimming.

Mag had heard of karate king clegg!
"What could he not do to a leg?
Keeps breaking it as voices beg,
Unless he's served wine: A full keg
The purest tap relieved not of dreg"

"Clegg must've finished the legs of Greg!"

Amusan's Tears

Amusan's Tears

Amusan's tears says something,
That thing is very far from nothing.

First, it was an infectious smile,
Later, it became tears from a mile.

This tears goes beyond the victory,
It carries that which is not a mystery.

Yes, the gold medal has been won,
After engaging in the stressful run.

The flag is flying frighteningly high,
I don't know if I should heave a sigh.

The world is standing up for Nigeria,
Popularly known as the giant of Africa.

Nigeria is celebrated at the world stage,
But her citizens are trapped in a cage.

Tears rolling down the cheeks every day,
Because of bullets not intended to stray.

Many are swallowed by the untimely grave,
Including those who were always brave.

They are tearful walking on poverty's crutches,
Saying life has thrown at them forceful punches.

If you decide to put these men on those chairs,
I will take your minds back to Amusan's tears.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Background of the word: This 45-letter word was coined in 1935, by
the president of the National Puzzlers' League of the United States, Everett E. Smith, in a presentation about the ever-growing length of medical terms.

He coined it to show how ridiculously long medical terms had gained acceptance.

It was created by stringing together a series of Latin stems that,
taken together, could conceivably describe an inflammatory lung disease caused by the inhalation of fine silica dust, a real disease already known popularly as black lung and technically called pneumoconiosis or silicosis.

Premium Member Bugging Gray Hair

Labeled as natural aging design
Popularly the so-called wisdom sign
Gray hair surprise-appearance
Bugs me with sweet endurance
Age-wise, to such fact, my mind can’t resign.

Peeping like silver strand jewelry
Defying my youthful look’s victory
Gray hair announces with pride
My blest maturity-stride…
I welcome with beauteous dyeing’s glory*.

Forewarned

exodus'  plague  had forewarned
dire straits if the first was scorned

and first was the crimson tide
nine more as pharoah defied

some millennia since passed
we come to know how it's caused

on bondi's beach there was red
algae teemed. massively spread

sea sparkle speaks Moses' tongue
mend ways or by plagues be stung

~25 Jul 2016~

Australia's Bondi Beach saw the Sea turning red on 27 Nov 2012. Popularly referred to as Crimson Tide it is also called Sea Sparkle or Nocturnal Scintillans, this phenomenon is observed from time to time in various parts of the world and is attributed to a sudden rise in the red algae population due to rising temperatures in sea water and other favourable conditions.

The Downtrodden Speak

I am baffled, stunned, dumbfounded
Completely nonplussed by the persistence
Of the international criminal court
In harassing the popularly elected Kenyan
President and his popularly elected deputy
As rogue entities terrorize Eastern Europe
The Arab World and my beloved Africa
All around us people are being beheaded
Or otherwise massacred on a whim
Innocent people who would, if free,
Choose to live and let live in peace
Rather than engage in perpetual
Callous, wanton and unprovoked
Slaughter of those they despise.

Aljazeera, BBC and CNN daily broadcast
The atrocities committed by the Islamic state
The beheadings are posted on the internet
And broadcast on radio, tv and newspapers
And while the moguls make their millions
In the dissemination of the villainy
The United Nations looks on puzzled
Or perplexed, mystified or even dazed
By the enormity or complexity of it all
Leaving me to wonder whether
This world body is not being manipulated
For the ends of a few powerful members
Who believe their fortunes would flourish
With the weakening of these regions!

If you can hear me, Ban Ki Moon
Hearken, the downtrodden moan!

Premium Member Tears On the Wind

What Gods there were, I did not know then,
Had nothing to do with them in words plain.

But I know now when attacked by the dragon
Cancer which popularly known as Life Gone.

Threatening to take away my one talent to *speak
Causing to wreak my dear and near ones in shrieks.

I did not see HIM positively, but did come to cure
In the persona of an expert doctor to be sure,

Sending away all of our grief and tears on the wind
Giving years to be with grand-kids with peace of mind.

As the bonus points* to roam, to ramble and to rejoice
All over the globe meeting people of grace and choice.

On the Bus

Every week day, same time, same bus, he is there, and I’m careful not to stare
But I can’t take my eyes off his curly shoulder length hair, hopelessly wondering

A face not popularly handsome, but such kind bluey- green eyes, deeper than the ocean
Tall, not slender and a quirky style of dress, not to impress. He kept me curiously wondering

Briefcase, serious and tanned, but scraggy like a boxers face, taken from place to place
Manicured hands with no adornment, no subtle signs of betrothment, I smiled hopefully wondering

Today he caught me in my stare, my face flushed pink, I look away I couldn’t think
But I saw his smile and for that short while my heart skipped a beat, as I sat motionlessly wondering

The bus had halted, where we both alight, my mind was racing as I caught sight
Standing on the kerbside, holding out his hand to me, I reached out breathlessly wondering

Hand held firm but gentle, and like cheshire cats smiling, arrayment of colours so beguiling
‘Have you time for a coffee’ I heard him say, my reply what a perfect day, still wondrously wondering
