Mr Slim

He was a born teacher
From birth destined to be
You'd know by his phene.

In capitalist-run schools
He's taught for many years
Earning pennies for labour.

Three years a beneficiary
On stipend of N-power teach
The Program axed by corruption.

Then long a community teacher
He's rendering public service
For little pay out of community levy.

He's adept; he got more papers
Hoping for full employment
With satisfaction in the job.

He got a conversion to EdoStar
State-run, two-year probationer
On the barest wage.

On his appointment
In the civil service, he got
The news of his careerlong pursuit.

The government is youth-centric
On account of his age, maybe his status
Or affiliation, he's disqualified.

Meanwhile politikers in the council
Of politricks make millions
By the seconds chattering all day.

Haiku maxim for everyday life

Expect the sudden
Pray for preparedness of heart
For time has power

When you’re spending
Pay out exact expenses
Do it first in your home

Perfectionism
Is daunting to execute
Excellence requires not

Premium Member All About Her

On gray and dreary mornings
All I have to do
Is think about my sweetheart
She helps to pull me through

I love my little bluebird
Her smile lights my way
It comforts me when lonely
And gets me through the day

The time spent 'til I see her
Feels so infinite
Like always paying money
Yet never out of debt

That's why I keep her image
At the forefront of my mind
I go back to it often
For in it I can find

The woman I have dreamed of
It's her, I have no doubt
She fills my empty coffers
Her dividends pay out

Premium Member Man Is Master

Over nature, we claim to be master
To have control of all, is our intent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our duty-to-care, shows we play jester
In self-cherishing much of our time spent
Over nature, we claim to be master

Our populations growing ever faster
On expansion, we simply won't relent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our pollutiing waste is left to fester
For we will never pay out to prevent
Over nature, we claim to be master

Our pesticides are to control nature
We will not share our food is the intent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our proposed targets seem to get nowhere
For we have not the will to prevent
Over nature, we claim to be master
But this is now leading to disaster

Premium Member Drunk On Beer and Wine - Parody of Mistletoe and Wine

It's party time, you drank beer then wine
You’re over the limit but think you’ll drive fine
Can’t steer in a straight line, hit a Ferrari
The policemen arrive, they’re far from happy

Should have used a taxi or jumped on a bus
But you’re at the cop shop, there’s lots to discuss
Breathalyser is sky high and you turn quite pallid
When learning your car insurance may be invalid

But its Christmas time you drank beer and wine
You’ll be summoned to court and get a hefty fine
Get banned from driving, and may lose your job
Such a pity you put any booze down your gob

N B I understand that some Insurers have a drink drive clause in their policy and pay out for damage to a third party but not to the drivers car

Collecting Tribute

Kings of the earth demand payment,
they are like horse leaches crying: give, give
Never are they ever satisfied,
never do we ever give enough
Rulers love to collect tribute
to build their war playthings
We hate the vexation of taxation,
and all the hardships that it bring
What we pay out in blood, sweat and tears money,
is supposed to come back to us a hundredfold
But the kings of the earth, like greedy dogs,
they wanna keep it all
Paying your taxes is a given,
collecting tribute is a time-honored oppressive act
Obedience to the crown is the key to free living,
but give to God the things that belong to Him —
This is a spiritual fact:
We must never forget to pay that

Flyaway

Took our friends to the airport this afternoon,
Don't like them going, but they'll be back soon.
We love having friends who we're comfy with,
Sometimes they are much closer than kith.
Gone to see family and friends far away,
We're happy that they'll be back one day.
Glad it is them that's going and not us,
For they're going to pay out in Toys-R- Us!
So we said not goodbye, but see you anon,
We will be waiting for the plane you are on.
Then it's back to normal whatever that is,
Until they are off again for a Christmas whizz.
So we said God speed and keep you both safe,
Until you're safely back from your holiday place.

From Tooth To Tooth

Sure seems to require a lot of lot

Before Dentist will start in hot pursuit

Of a slimy cavity spreading tooth to tooth

Enforcing my idea that it is uncouth.

And to you a dentist sure can sock it

When they say you can pay out of pocket

And another thing, did discover that IT

Really represents and stands for Integrity.

Now if your warning system starts out early

Miss hearing and might find gates that are pearly

And if in dentist chair and feeling rambunctious

Smile might become sumptuous and scrumptious.

Before any poor patient should hear any of this

Always make sure your appointment don't miss

And mouth with teeth full of cavities can be

No longer in site and now part of history.

Let me know if you like it. They say

you have to try it first though. They

must be talking about tooth brushes,

dental floss and a flaming desire to

take care of your teeth. Oh, and make

sure you are sitting down alone when

you are reading this. Jim Horn

To You

To all those reading this, to all those that are awake
Take with you my love, it is there to take
Keep your spirits up; be they topped with a mixer
Raise a glass to all, for love is life’s elixir

May the New Year bring you blessings, blessings all around.
Even if it costs you, pay out for another round
I wish to all the best for you, I pray it will come true
And not only that, I have some plans especially for you.

You know who you are; at least I’d like to think
So raise a glass to us, go and have another drink
It will keep you calm until we meet and knowing I love you
Until we meet again, and watch the flame of love burn true.

Premium Member Evil Machines

I can see those machines all standing in a row.
That is where so many gullible people go.
All of those fools enter hoping to strike gold.
They come in from the boardwalk and the winter’s cold.
The machines emit alluring sounds and lights.
I see people in front of them during days and nights.
What is dumped into those contraptions causes frights.
Victims insert all their money without regret.
Cash goes in, and promises are what they get.
Those mechanical thieves pay out parsimoniously.
They take advantage of human greed and gullibility.
It seems those gadgets will operate without end.
In time, folks will know they are not a friend.

Your Body Can Break a Man's Bank

I look around and it is you I see
A girl who is a stock market catastrophe
You are a high risk investment that won't pay out
You put on your makeup like bathroom grout
I have no idea where you fall in the official rank
But your body can break a man's bank
So what you have changed the color of your hair
Your personality is a car without it's spare
Keep in mind, this is just me and my point of view
You are that piece of meat spit out because it was too tough to chew
You are the left over beer that wasn't drank
But your body can break a man's bank
Your face is like a painting that looks good from far away
Men still flock around you to my dismay
You are the results of an out of hand prank
But your body can break a man's bank
The perfume is not hiding the fact that you don't bathe
That tells me it's not cuddle time you crave
I give up, be straight with me
You are from the gutter, but men treat you like the queen bee
In a word game, your brain is the blank
But your body can break a man's bank

Why Loss

and I still don’t know why
you’ve done this to me
I’ve lost so much
and yet you insist
again and again and again
on making me lose more.

it was so much easier
believing you didn’t
love me
don’t still
love me
because then I don’t have to see
that I might still
love you too.

and I’m afraid.
I’m afraid that I’ll live
in the land of emotionality
too long
for me to pull myself out
and I’m afraid for the state
of my mind
my dignity
my self-respect
if that line rings
and you give me
all I want to hear.

and I still don’t know why
you’ve done this to me
I’ve lost so much
and yet you insist
again and again and again
on making me lose more.

if you understood
the toll you take
what I’ve had to pay out
to pass your bridge
you wouldn’t ask silly questions
that only bring you and me
more grief
and more tears
than are probably warranted
for I knew you
I knew of you
so I can’t blame anyone
but myself.

so

I still don’t know why
I’ve done this to me
I’ve lost so much
and yet I insist
again and again and again
on making me lose more.
