Man Is Master

Over nature, we claim to be master
To have control of all, is our intent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our duty-to-care, shows we play jester
In self-cherishing much of our time spent
Over nature, we claim to be master

Our populations growing ever faster
On expansion, we simply won't relent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our pollutiing waste is left to fester
For we will never pay out to prevent
Over nature, we claim to be master

Our pesticides are to control nature
We will not share our food is the intent
But this is now leading to disaster

Our proposed targets seem to get nowhere
For we have not the will to prevent
Over nature, we claim to be master
But this is now leading to disaster

Hello Jan. Congratulations of your Christmas poem for the contest. And many thanks for your comment on my latest villanelle. I find the villanelle challenging but enjoy it. Best wishes. Tony X
