Out Of His Mind Poems | Examples

Premium Member Uncle Drakes Toe

My toe is sore a real ow
My toe is old, I don’t know how.
I chopped it off, a silly mistake.
Now it is worse, said Cousin Drake.

He is aged and out of his mind
His dementia is the very worst kind.
The toe is lost, we cannot find.
Uh-oh, on a chain and freshly shined.

The Fined

He was hit with a healthy fine
That drove him out of his mind
He attacked the clerk
Who called him a jerk
Then assumed that everything was fine

Premium Member One Sunny Afternoon In Camelot

Mad, they agreed
    out of his mind
      off of his rocker
        flipped his wig
          lost all his marbles ...

  There was the governor
posing in the center of town
      stark-raving nude
        neither embarrassment
          nor an ounce of shame

  Perched uneasily atop
    a royal walking-horse
a wizard's tricorn atop his head
        -- or was it a dunce's cap

   Insanity opened its mouth
    the sun set abruptly ~
the moon and stars came out

Premium Member Staring Off Into Space

Out of his mind
  lost all control
Whither his soul

Mad as can be
  completely insane
Whereto his brain

Garbled speech
  making no sense
Illogic dispensed

Here he comes now
  staring off into space
Kindly greet him with grace…

He’s a card-carrying member
  of our crazy rat race

Disputin' Putin

Normally, I'd never take a shot at someone who's dying
but what scum bag Putin's trying to sell, I'm not buying.
His doctors have said he's got three years max left to live
and for his evil deeds, I'm thinking God will not forgive.

On the verge of losing his sight, but he's long been blind
to the atrocities he's caused. A mad man, out of his mind.
Poor guy complains of headaches. Does he want our pity
after killing many Ukrainians and destroying city after city?

The Big C lives in his body, but his soul belongs to Satan.
Sold it when he got greedy and there's no sign of it abatin'.
Update to his health, reports he trembles. That's the rumors,
but I hope he shakes from the pains of malignant tumors.

I almost feel guilty by writing something so seemingly cruel
but this is acceptable when exposing the work of the ghoul.
Maybe his good friend, Trump, will fly over to hold his hand
and dance like a puppet for Putin at his dying wish command.

yet his courtyard art had the quality touch
His work so carefully designed
sadly to die out of his mind

Premium Member Black Cat

He claimed to be a modern young person,
age-old beliefs out of his mind had gone,
but for one superstition
that got his full attention,
he was surprised it would soon take him on.

On a warm day as the sun melted dew,
he stepped out of home for job interview,
as he passed neighbor’s backyard
a black cat he saw chase birds,
it crossed his path before he had a cue.

Although he thought the interview went well,
he feared on his hope cat’s bad omen fell.
When the job offer he got,
searched for the black cat a lot
to present it a plate of mackerel.

A Far Cry

A Far Cry

A far cry from home
A man sat drinking
Up a storm
2o drinks too sober

Down on his luck
Living by his wits
Down and out

On the street
Of fabled Bangkok
Just another loser

Flotsam white boy
Lost in inner space

Out of his mind
Dreaming dark dreams

As he continued to drink
A far cry from home

Double Dactyls For Donald Trump

Covidy Covidy
Donald the President
Stood on the balcony
Out of his mind

Muttering matters most
Incomprehensible
Still looking beautiful
Lit from behind

Premium Member A Crossed Rubicon

Isn't it funny what alcohol
does to folks?

A man at the bar is so drunk
out of his mind he generously
spills some long-held secrets
of his, unbeknownst to him.

He gives up even some
his better half would kill him for.
He vomits them on himself
and all over his bartender friend...

who loves to gossip. Imagine that!
Realizing his obvious blunder,
he barks his admonition to her...

"You better not tell!"

Oops, it's much too late.
Poor fella.

Even before he sobers up
all his rotten secrets have been
laid bare. Everyone in and out
the bar, including his wife, knows.

I fell in love with
a dreamer,many
thought he was
out of his mind,
but I didn't. I be-
lieved in the man
and his dream.
Unfortunately he
didn't live out his
dream.But I passed
on that dream men-
tality to his seed,
and now my son
is living his dream.

Donald Trump is one of a kind
Because he is out of his mind
The void fills with gas
That blows out his ass
And leaves the blind leading the blind

Old Poet and Red Wine

The old poet and red wine

The old man gets up early in the morning; he doesn’t
eat breakfast but drink coffee, switch on the computer
look at the blank screen waiting for a word to come
so he can try writing a poem; it is a hard going so he
mounts his training bike and get some exercise.
Noon is the best time of the day; he walks to his café
have a good meal and a jug of red wine, which puts
him in a good mood and talk to the old men in the park,
Sometimes one of them say something interesting he
can use when writing. The old poet knows his best
work is behind him, but he still tries to tease another
poem out of his mind. His evening meal is simple he opens
a tin of soup and drink a few glasses of red wine watch
TV, or makes comments on the Twitter.

Hectic Day

Hectic day

An eventful day this Saturday
A man is shot to death at Orly airport
clearly out of his mind and France is under
lock down; the hysteria is taking hold
a laptop in a car was stolen it sensitive
information or perhaps not
a man tries to climb the fence at the White House
and there is blood on the carpet
those on duty should have known and not eat
doughnuts when looking at the security screen
dogs and men are prowling the lawn outside
they must be seen doing something
one can say this have been a day of a none –event
and Mosul it is a side show.
At Fox News, long legged girls- with Botox faces- blame
the Chinese, Trump`s pet hate.
The French were not sure who to blame think
the mayhem might have been caused by Iran or
the Germans for taking in too many Syrians.
And over us like Damocles` sword….Trump telling
us all will be fantastic and work for everyone.

Try these On For Size

Grew A Placebo
(It had mildew.)

Fought Got Caught
(To my attention was brought)

Conclusive was abusive
(Give to live.)

Adoring and snoring
(Storing and boring)

Rate hardly wait
(Procreate to late.)

Provoking until croaking
(Soaking and quoting.)

Supper and upper
(To eat my supper,
Used lower and upper)

Heart broken
(Love token)

Had met her half way
(I forgot what to say.

Splendid then ended
(Intended and offended.)

Had been hard to tell
(So sat for a short spell.)

To do did compel
(Until he feel in well.)

Sick like some other
(So pill took another.)

Agitated not related
(Old and outdated.)

Combined then left behind
(Had gone out of his mind.)

My poems sure seem so great
(Read them, people can hardly wait.)
