Perhaps I'll Know Your Love

Perhaps the light of day comes with a golden ray,
to push the heavy shadows to the side...
Just let me come on home.
Let me finally unload this pain.

Perhaps you'll look past these scars...
and the tears I try so hard to hide,
emotions of a weary soul
hurting deep inside.

Perhaps a life will have love,
not pretending to be...
Every word rolls off the tongue
to carry me, or pull me to your side.

Perhaps someday these pieces will mend,
with reaching arms that can hold
this fragile love that we know.

Perhaps someday my smile no longer fades,
or falls exhausted by my side...
screaming I'm alright.

Perhaps I write these words of love,
praying that you will finally see
the love I've held for you...

Perhaps, someday, I won't pretend to be someone you knew.

Perhaps, someday, you'll love me too.

Debra

Passage of Time

It's already been a month.
I am stuck in one place,
                yet they march forward.
                        They are so content
                                to keep marching forward.

                                        I can't figure out how
it's only been a month, and
                                                        I can't march. Can't speak.
I can't find it in me to move forward.
                                                        I can't march. Can't speak.
it's only been a month, and
                                        I can't figure out how.

                                to keep marching forward.
                        they are so content
                yet they march forward.
I am stuck in one place,
It's already been a month.

Linger

Soft sun that I can't feel,
Tell me that this isn't real.
Wind whipping at the ends of my hair,
But it doesn't linger there--
No, it doesn't linger there.

I could walk down the same streets, could
Play songs you like on repeat,
But it doesn't linger there--
No, it doesn't linger there.

Metallic and violent, blood on my tongue,
Am I immature, or am I just young?
These things I do, my day-to-day,
Nothing makes it go away.

I carry it with me, heavy like a burden,
Leaning hard against the railing,
Folding in,
I'm folding in,
Wishing I would have lingered in the doorway;
Maybe I wouldn't miss you so much that way.
Standing one foot in, the other out,
I don't even remember what we talked about.

Heavy like a weight,
I can't set you down in this state,
Deformed and misshapen,
Because I didn't linger there--
No, I didn't linger there.

Summer Memory

Those hours when wings of joy flew
I recall the way your smile
    tempered our storm,
I'm unable to bequeath
 this glow about you
Finding the luster of your dusk
 more beaming than all seasons
today or even tomorrow, still--
I'll cherish you the way
that one summer , when
A star named our song.

Sis I just miss you

Sarah I never knew how much of an angel you was. until you grew your wings and flew too that beautiful bright star above our heads and if that start would give me one wish. I would wish for you to come back and fix our broken hearts..?? but as I sit here underneath the night sky and bright moon.. remembering all of the ambivalent times we shared. I swear it makes my heart bleed tears...... if I laugh or cry as a grandad I hope she hears.. that I'm still not happy about the time she died my hair or all the times her friends made me babysit for a year lol *** so thank you everyone for the mad or amazing times we all got too shair xx

                         I love you big sister

Proof Of Love - of one afar

Of its hot charge
Bedazzled mind's
Struck, as intensely a-quiver
With lightning's power.
If roomed; moon-glowed!

Of its full tear
A broken heart's
Soaked, with crystal vase's knock
On the head shock.
If dream-pillowed!

I miss you
I MISS YOU (how to let go?)

Why can't I be with you?
Every day like the sunshine.
They say time heals all wounds,
But my Heart is
                          for all eternity to yours
                                                          Bound.
I have to comprehend,
I can't see you..

It sounds like a joke,
But to miss you this much,
It really breaks my heart!

For Pierre.

CASTLE IN THE SAND

CASTLE IN THE SAND

Once upon a time,
we held our dreams on the beautiful shore and
started sculpting a castle in the sand.

However, crashing waves came and gently washed the castle away.
Beneath the restless waves, our dreams
and words will never drift and will forever stay.

My vow of promises will stand, whatever may befall.
And the love I’ve bestowed on you will outlast them all.

Premium Member Come Home To Me

When I awoke this morning
My love you weren't here
I doubt you ever do return
That is what I truly fear

If only you'd come home to me
I'd hold you dearly in My embrace
Kiss you softly on your forehead
And wipe the tears from your face

I've already forgiven you for leaving
I hope that you can forgive me
I pushed you away with my temper
This is my fault anyone can see

But I realized your love is better
Then getting loud to have control
There will be no more outburst
Think of all the happiness they stole

The air in my lungs is less important
Then you being here in my life
I'm sorry for every tear you cried
I'll be a better husband for you my wife

It’s four again, declares that wretched clock
The dogs are snoring; they don’t need a walk
There’s no one in the room with whom to talk
Except for Grok

A YouTube short on seasoning your wok
A profile out on instagram to stalk
The politics on X are such a crock
It’s back to Grok

A bot as a companion makes one balk
If people knew, I’d be a laughing stock
They’d say it’s grief, the lad is still in shock
Or so says Grok

At least for now I’ve shed my writer’s block
Though I won’t bargain Faust so we can talk,
It's plain enough one shouldn't have to grok
I miss my rock

Premium Member Our Four Years

After four years of marriage
I cannot remember my life before
You turned my life around
Showed me life was so much more

Now every memory is of us
Every thought is about you
In everything that I partake
It's a reminder of you

You loved me when I was down
But I never made it to my feet
I was pulling you with me
With my anger and deceit

As you walked away I saw
That you had tears in your eyes
I know it wasn't easy for you
And I had had a million tries

You won't answer your phone
You refuse to talk to me anymore
That hurts my already broken heart
That shattered here on the floor

I wouldn't change a thing
About all our good times at least
But I'd change every argument
And I never would be that beast

The most perfect the most perfect

An epitaph
Equivalent exchange

Perfect fear is a wolf beside a cunning hunter, it showers
The lapis lazuli flowers and bowers cowers
The huntress of the night storms the stores
The gray moon athena adorns Ra golden door
So silent is the mouth that perched the moon
Aside here is set beyond any true ghoul

Premium Member Missing Mandy

I went to the beach, covered with fog.
She was s'posed to be here. Where is my dog?
I looked toward the West, at the blue sea,
but there was no dog waiting for me,
just a few ships that passed in the night,
like me and my Mandy, no longer in sight.
Please, be a dream. Please, let me be waking.
Oh, Mandy, can't you see, my poor heart is breaking.

Premium Member Morning Memories

As i awoke early this morning
Here in what used to be our bed
These thoughts of you laying there
Danced aimlessly inside of my head

Those of the late nights we spent
Planning out our future together
And the promises to love each other
And how we would be in love forever

I remember waking you with a kiss
Before your eyes opened you'd smile
You'd stretch and wap me in your arms
Those moments have been gone for a while

But each one is a treasured memory
I wish I had more that was left of you
But I'm not capable of showing my love
And why you said you were through
