Lovers are the men that every woman wants
and that every man wants to be
In the movies, he's the one who gets the girl
and the rest are just men like me
Loners are the guys who go their own way
and solitude is their best friend
They're at home with the quiet stillness of life
and have nothing to prove in the end
Losers are the ones with fearful minds
and secrets they dread to reveal
They tried and they failed and forever after
their failures they fight to conceal
It takes a wise man to know his place
and to live well in his own lane
For pretending to be anything else
he has little or nothing to gain
This is not to say that a man cannot change
nor improve himself or his lot
But he should be at peace with each step right now
for right now is all that he's got

During the COVID lockdown,
"Yours Truly" became "Spend Cast"
All those stimulus checks...Gone!
Now, just figments of the past.
I bought way too many Sox,
I bought way too many Shoes
I bought way too many T-shirts
I think I caught "Consumer Blues!"
Bought a lot of funny Hoodies,
And bought "Six" Damascus Knives!
Bought Boxers by the dozen,
Oh, how would my funds survive?
If I had back all the "Coin"
That I gladly threw away,
Like those G.D. "Lotto Tix"
I'd be a "Wealthy Man" today!
A piece evoking heartbreak, initiation, and resilience through friendship.
Relating to a club which may not exist in the literal sense, but exists in the spiritual.
A club for those who have felt broken, but lifted by others who have probably been through the same rituals linked to heartbreak.
Title.
Are you a member of The Midnight Losers Club?
(A lone voice whispers)
I joined last night
Went through the initiation
Got my heart broken in two
Took proof
Showed them all on the big screen
A picture of my ex-husband smiling as I stood crying
Now I wear the secret brand under my right sleeve in French.
Une fois brisés, nous nous relevons grâce à l'amitié
Car nous sommes membres du Midnight Losers Club

In the world of control..The scheme goes like
This..theres always a 'HIGHLIGHT' on what
You might miss? What might be taken.? What
You can save.? In 2020 the theme was really
Hard played.' You might loose your life? Or
Your standing with friends.' It was first to the
Lifeboats ' Do you remember 'the trends?'
What might you loose? Well some took a
Chance.' First we lost all the shallow folk yet
Others stood fast.' We lost out on the loans
That must be paid back.' On the various poisons, yet have no sense of a lack.' We lost
Fear of some un-known; and invisible things?
Some accepted Jesus, and lost all the old sin,
Death got lost also.' And looking around! Considering all
Of the loosing, I'm amazed at what was found.!!
Only Losers steal.
Go get a job and earn it,
become productive.
Christmas can be a hard time for many.
Especially those in The Midnight Losers Club.
If you are, surround yourself with great friends and you'll be ok.
Salute.

Foundation of the piece.
Do the broken belong to a secret club?
Have you been a member but unknowingly with out the tattoo?
For did others help you rise after your mighty fall
When you joined The Midnight Losers Club?
The Midnight Losers Club represents losing out to heartbreak and any future happiness with a person involved.
Every word I write
must be right --
written to the best
of my ability; my
product of honest
thinking
Not a word penned
while blinking
To be perfect, is to be true
To be flawless is truly to
be you.
Every hope and aspiration
should be contemplated
with invested determination
Without driving will
there is no achievable way
(make every gambit
a fully invested play)
All winners are reformed
losers.
Winners And Losers
Miracle Man

Doing it God's way
makes the end result worthwhile.
Hell is for losers.
shifting
the soup of gravy
poured into a shifter
the residue
is thrown away
if we assume the sifted
is a soup
we shall not know
if the lumps
in the sifter is the truth
no one
wanted to hear
Let's all celebrate
Motivate and innovate
Let's all have incredible fun
The one that will last more than a lifetime
Every four years, it is that time
Again and again, let's us sprint, jump, run
Like happy rabbits, like flying cheetahs
Let's us enjoy all sports and the hoopla
Let's witness and win the gold medals
Many records will be broken
It is about doing our best and to have fun
Let's bring the torch, the flowers and the petals
Let's bring the doves, the love and the sandals
These are the Olympics, let's unite forever
And laugh all the way to the river
The bikers are coming, the rowers are here
Let's have the party of the century
Let's watch the volleyball players
Invite the drunkards and the smokers
Who are already sadly out of breath
Let's pray that they don't see an early death
Let's win the medals
And decorate the stadiums with lights and petals
May the world remain beautiful
Where there are no weak losers, only strong winners
May the world remain peaceful and wonderful
Where there are no lousy losers, only lovely winners.

I have no regard
for other poets
how could it be other
As they conscript
the words away
of which I’ve not discovered
A battle royal
zero sum
as phrases block and parry
The winner left
his voice reclaimed
— the loser most disparaged
(The New Room: February, 2024)
Losers always do their worst
Winners used to being first
Losers never ever win
Winners win and win again
Mercy dragged fate around our alley,
a path taken before, failed, but who cares ?
two lucky losers,
who determined the ending,
in the precipice of nothing.
you and I were children in the world,
non-existent in love stories,
to keep you crouched, easier for me
unaffected by the flow of gossip.
Satiety in you
Time never promised,
my being enjoyed you even in sleep.
But,
the lack of luck remained loyal to my body,
every step in the path of growth,
kept me away ,
you weren’t a need .
The interval between your creature and mine was losing power,
we become too grand for the world,
they all talked about us
never once mentioned love.
to be achieved in life, I wouldn't say,
we will stay young with experience , forever.
the alleys never joined ,
steeply they passed,
without punctuation.
created spirals of abstract colors,
that burst from time to time,
when my eye caught your eye through the alleys of the city.
In regards to this game or so called thing we call life
Technically I haven't lost as yet
But on the other hand I certainly as hell haven't won
And although I am over 50 now its not full time just as yet either
As we are now just merely moving into overtime
Because if anything life thus far has taught me this
It can not end neither in a tie nor a draw
We all simply have to keep playing until the final whistle blows
And there must eventually either be a loser or said winner
Otherwise we will be stuck
somewhere in between like purgatory
Waiting for the final verdict and eventual outcome to be heard
Of whether or not we are
destined to rise up or headed for a fall
And only those lucky enough victorious winners in the end reap the glory
Whereas the losers unfortunately are only left with sadness and regret
One can only guess and I don't suppose
in the end
The meek don't inherit the earth either
Place your bets, you’re just in time
for the game, the fix is in.
What a thrill. Is it a crime to cash in?
The winners do, and that could be you.
You’ll be a witness, as wise guys smoothly step in
- it’s basic greed - and never a sin, as long as they win.
Mr slick ricky, you’ve got to be bold to win gold -
winners never just fold - betting never gets old.
The winners will add your few spare bucks to their pot -
let’s admit, all that you’ve got - isn’t a lot - it won’t fuel a yacht.
Place your bets, you’re in the front row all the time,
don’t be lame, be part of the game, the greasy bigtime.

NOTE: I LOVE NFL football, but now every commercial is for some sports book like “Draft Kings.” How can the NFL, increasingly in league with gambling books, not end up mobbed-up and fixed?
It’s ruining NFL football - the illusion that it’s a real sporting competition. I’ll tell you, Once they start calling the NFL “entertainment” and not sports - it’s over - the game I once loved will be just like pro wrestling.
