Best Losers Poems

Winners and Losers

Are winners defined by prowess
In business or in sport
Or by intellectual power
Backed by academic report?

Is losing determined
By lack of financial wealth
In lieu of big-hearted happiness
Or optimum good health?

Why do moguls and titans
With no Faith take the leap
While penniless paupers
Leap for joy from their feet?

How come rich men's wives
Are miserable, children spoiled
While laborers are elated
Though clothes and hands are soiled?

Are winning and happiness one and the same
When the affluent are unhappy is money to blame?

Why are the poor who struggle hard to survive
Still able to know jubilation in their lives?

Their money's still here when the rich are long gone
Just like when they came they leave naked and alone

With wealth or in poverty life is borrowed time
Where prime dividends are the spiritual kind

Abundance is far too uncommon to be the standard
By which winning in life might be judged

Suggesting those without means or money
Were never in favor with God

The value of winning might be in dollars and cents
But the price of happiness is the lack of pretense

A Losers Prayer

I love you GOD
But I do not understand
When is it that you will let this pain
Come to an end!
I tried to end it myself
But you wouldnt let me
Wh the hell do you continue to test me!!
Im not strong
My body and soul are weak
I have nothing
Im obsolete
Ive failed its over God
I tried my best
But its done
And I do not wish to retest

Winners and Losers

a giant
with a spear
and a shield
and a army

a boy
with a rock
and a sling
and a god

a person
with a voice
and a song
and a spirit

a man
with a vote
and a will
and a power

a woman
with a love
and a passion
and a desire

a girl
with a dream
and a hope
and inspired

a god
with a son
and a heart
and an hour

Losers

Do you waver. are you shy?
When they look at you
do their eyes imply:
"We'll have to make do"?

Do you doubt your reasons,
suspect your goals,
commit self-treason
defer to trolls?

Are you always too reflective?
Are all your victories retrospective?
Do you try to do what's right
and end up being too polite?

Take heart then, don't despair!
Remember losers, everywhere,
it's within the infinite power of thought
to prove conclusively the winners are not.

Following rules, we learned as kids,do you remember?
Do not take another's pencil, it is a sin, nor their precious toys
nor dimes to in your pockets, put in,

What allows us now, to steal with such giddy, sin-filled ploy?
Whether be it a car-jacking or a despicable looting done on camera
with grimacing, hideous joy?

Most of us are not thieves, and raise heck at plagiarists!
But things now escaped in adults as crooks as forgers or "fraud-sters anonymous."

The simple truth is that things taken, display a huge lack of integrity,
And simply fail, with their lack of character and bald- faced chicanery.

Play up front and honest is my call.
Pretend you made a home-run,when in fact, all you had was a foul ball?

Winners fulfill promises, losers on their faces will fall.
Cheating wins no games in life, that's a big loser's call.

Dedicated to Maria, my daughter, a woman of ethics and
elected to office legally. Thank you. It was a hard road but
you made a difference for the good~ in many!
Wow~ a woman of integrity. Without that, nothing works.

Sore Losers

.

In tight contests,
rivals flash sour,
scheming smiles
of ignominies.

                       Some are spiteful
                       though they're down
                       beaten on bended,
                       wounded knees.

Their front act of
dire deceit: feigning
sportsmanship, not
conceding defeat.

                        Rancour and rage
                        behind their civil,
                        congenial masks
                        insidiously lurk.

Though, quietly they
lick their wounds,
they vow vengeance,
and defiantly sulk.

Winners and Losers

False promises and bold faced lies
			From leaders we call men,
			Too foolish, vain and unwise
			It’s the election blues again.

Feign to believe the web they weave
			With patient ears we listen,
			Future balanced if they achieve
			From deceitful eyes teeth glisten.

In principle, fate is our blame
			Yet in our selfish pride,
			Our judgment shadows woeful shame
			Behind scapegoats fail to hide.

Ballot fiends they all may be
Watching poll numbers, plus or minus three,
What will their victory bring to me
			After January twenty-three.

			Subsidized youth sports, gun control
			Child care dollars galore,
A policy a day, and truth be told
			Campaign gifts are a chore.

			What matters East-West-South ‘n North
Is that we get it right,
While opponents bicker back and forth
			By cable, bus or flight.

			Success depends on unity
			Without it we’re a wreck,
			While one side suffers mutiny
			The Grits give Tories heck.

The separatist Bloc` says “Let us go”
			Demanding sovereign freedom,
			White margarine and one-tongued-signs
			Does Canada really need them.

The answer is, quite simply, oui`
			We cannot tear apart,
			Instead, honor all with dignity
And make a brand new start.

While men debate with pointed fingers
			On issues big or small,
Our neighbor’s fear of terror lingers
With plans to build a wall.

Five billion they shall not relinquish
			While bring East to peace,
			Infernal war fires ne’r extinguish
			Diplomacy for lease.

			Denying partnership in war
			To Iraq we didn’t go,
And up in space where eagles soar
			Again we said “Oh no”.

			Canada is not the States
			Their future is not ours,
While Bush comments on us, berates
			His future quickly sours.

When we look back upon these days
			In golden years of life,
Will mirrored lakes obscure with haze
			Too thick for sharpened knife.

Or does the future hold great treasure
			For Canadians, one and all,
With strength and courage beyond measure
			Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Like years before, each voter chooses
With hopes and dreams of change and glory,
But in the end there’s winners and losers
			Different writer, same old story.

Losers In Vancouver

Canada, land of good
manners, polite people
until we lose the Cup
and angry crowds of testosterone
go wild
burn cars and porta-potties
hurl bottles, bricks,
street signs and threats
at lines of riot masks
and batons ready
for adrenaline
almost as high
as that elusive win

Falling deep, Sam did not even pout.

In a dirt hole he could not get out.

Then a thought came to him,

and it was not so grim.

He formed stairs from the dirt –escape route!

Also Sam's friend got stuck in a hole.

He was helpless as Sam, yet the role

that he played was to sit,

and with no thought to it.

Quitters need to determine a goal!

Truth About Winners and Losers

Integrity lives
As long as people know the antonym

Honor will never die
As long as people know the sacrifice

Patriotism is a two edged sword
One edge cuts on the side of righteousness

The other on the side of wickedness
Wickedness suppresses facts

Facts are important
They support the truth

Truth survives
When people practice it

Otherwise, truth fails
And the wicked win.

LOSERS

If there’s something I can’t stand it’s all the losers around -
And man, there’s a ship-load of ‘em out there, having a ball.
Amazing how the world gets by when so many surround
Us as useless passengers. Not really pulling their weight at all.

You see them every day, the deadbeats, the nothings,
Playing the empty-headed drifter roles,
Who really should and could get busy doing something -
If they had more gumption in their souls.

I dunno, they just make me feel so mad and kinda uneasy
Because they seem to have no feel for the real nitty-gritty,
Lurching from one smutty moment to another, maybe more sleazy -
Like autumn butterflies, but not nearly so pretty.

Need their wings clipped, and a serious job of work to do,
Settle down and straighten their lives out, see?
They make me uncomfortable. . . . probably. . . maybe it’s true. . . .
Because they remind me - of me.
