So close to where I want The vision seems to haunt
Being so near leaves it's scar
So close , yet so far
I stuck to my belief
Now I need some relief
I look to the sea
I need to be free
I'm on the edge of the dream
It's harder than it may seem
To feel so much
I almost lose touch
Which emotions are mine
I need to shine
Take back what is mine
Sometimes around
People cry without a sound
Get out of my mind
Silence I need to find
Leave this all behind
Yet , I'm stuck
Have I ran out of luck
Everybody's pain
Can drive one insane
I haven't ran far enough
I need to remain tough
Even though it's rough
I shouldn't care
But it's most unfair
Maybe in the middle of the sea
Maybe then I'll finally be free
You`ve been Dreaming
You've been dreaming about me
This I surely see.
Dreaming about the closeness of our bodies, the touch of my hand.
Does this ignite your desires?
Making you feel the warmth we shared.
You've been dreaming about me.
Closing your eyes, and wishing that dreams really do come true.
Our passions lit a fire, that time still fuels.
You've been dreaming about me.
Every time you dream.
You close your eyes and have the deepest satisfaction within your soul.
You just can`t stop yourself.
Every time....... you close your eyes.
You find yourself just sitting and closing your eyes.
With a Cheshire cat smile upon your face.
You've been dreaming about me.
Over and over, the sweetness of two bodies so close.
So combined, so one.
You've been dreaming about me.
And that`s all you will ever have.
Only in your dreams.
Dream On.....................

FATHERS DAY
Father, My Dearest Father
All along I received you so close to my heart:
To adore, to honor and to love.
Happy moments shared with you are treasures of my life.
Emotive urge surges as I feel you in my soul.
Reminiscences of your love and care are great assets of mine.
Song of your affection resonates synchronizing my heart beats
Deep dolor engulfs me as I think, you had passed away.
Advices imposed and Morals taught by you, I pursue in each step.
You are my Idol, Philosopher and Guide.

'All Yours (June 4 ) Contest by Brian Strand
Born from my soul new to this earth
This marvel of life that we call birth
Dedication endurance, gestation of time
To hold him so close our son so fine
Tears from my eyes, fulfilment of joy
Proud parents we are of our little boy
We look to tomorrow to live our lives
As we remember his dad whom fate has deprived
He was a soldier, just nineteen years old
Too early to leave us for his young life to fold
At Southampton Docks, where I waved him farewell
My tears were so different our future looked swell
Frequent letters arrived declaring our love
To the birth of our son a gift from above
Then came the day your whole world falls apart
A knock at the door, where do they start
They sit you down, knowing the words you will hear
My eyes start to swell, with a different tear
They tell of my husband, father to our son
Heroic in war, lost to the enemy gun
They leave, the door closes, I'm in momentary empty
My life not that long ago was blissful of plenty
We said our farewells my son and I
With a lifetime of tears I will internally cry
Cast a glance to the comet up high
with a name sounding awkward and dry
(in the stellar marquee
it's marked 'six-seven-P')
and a motion that's hard to descry.
As the comet continues to fly,
caught in gravity none can defy
(yes, it traces ellipses
through solar eclipses),
we ask 'does dark matter comply'.
So, we sent the Rosetta to pry
and I can't help but wondering why
(once in orbit) we spun it
so close to the sun, it
is likely to sizzle and fry…
But before, we may soon verify
that the comet's a custard cream pie
made of green cheddar cheese,
like the moon, if you please
(though that's gospel the savants deny).
When receivers no longer reply
(at the end of their solar supply),
we won't seek to debug 'em,
instead we'll we unplug 'em
and turn off our spy in the sky.
If it's certain Rosetta will die
then, oh lordy, I surely will cry
if we land it like Philae
behind the sun, shyly,
before I can whisper goodbye.
After the street cars left, but before
the mill closed down, this was
home. A mix of dirt roads and
brick buildings, so close together
in town, like children under a
blanket, huddled for warmth.
The farms so spread out, your
closest neighbor could be miles
and every time the farmers came
to town for supplies, they brought
new children we never knew were
born, some almost a year old.
Long dresses were all the rage,
never show your ankles to a
stranger. When grandma wore
her housecoat to pull in laundry
we gasped at seeing her ankles.
Dust filled the air, blown
around when the storm came
through, making it all clean
and muddy at the same time.
I miss the old home.
Words escape me.
How do I articulate if I can’t speak?
I am struck down by my pride.
Helpless as always.
So close, yet so far away.
I can’t see the end to this ocean.
I’m drowning, I’m dying, I’m sinking, I’m crying.
I’m momentary, a fleeting blip on the face of the earth.
I’m insubstantial. Wiped out in a single moment, breath snuffed.
I’m far from perfect, but I’ll do what I can.
I’ll survive. Maybe not on earth, maybe not in this time.
Maybe I was meant to be a little different.
Maybe my legacy is something worthwhile.
Only time will tell, whether I’m here to see the answers or not.
Like Fall…
the lingering of laughter in the air,
like a silent prayer,
painting the moments, so rare
with joy and hope to share,
stirring love, thus – beware…
graceful as the ghost of a sunrise,
on dawn, with clear, blue skies,
there is a beautiful I’ll advise –
reflecting the spirit, so very wise,
erasing the darkness with all its lies…
gentling the spirit, stirring the soul,
promising a fate we can’t control,
this is God’s will and He’ll console,
comforting all the hearts He has stole,
as we hasten quietly, on a stardust stroll…
the whispering night sings me to sleep,
from the moon, I’ll not hear a peep,
fireflies glittering, glowing as they sweep –
over the heavens, reflections to keep,
shining so hopeful, making the stars weep…
glued to the joy that wanders about,
erasing the dark with it’s glorious shout,
reminding the spirit to go all out,
when praising the Father, there isn’t a doubt,
psalms and praises breathe – we’re not without…
grateful for the Holy Spirit, who
abides inside, sticking like glue –
to my heart, where I will need Him, too,
because without this Jesus, the jew,
I am lost – without a clue…
waiting to meet me when I leave this earth,
since the moment of the Savior’s birth,
God’s people have been blessed by the re-birth,
which guarantees heaven to those who unearth –
the meaning of life, knowing what He is worth!
listen to the silence – touch the wind,
remember God is healing every friend,
muzzling the darkness with His love to remind,
everywhere we go, His love overflows, so kind,
like the beauty come to life – a beauty designed…
to kiss away the past and give love that will last
if you’re ever asked…
the test of my faith, I passed
because I believed in the One who is steadfast,
the light of the world, the One I forecast…
as eternity, always and forever –
where there is nothing whatsoever….
to stop the joy that will come to those,
who will live forever with the One who arose!
Jesus is my life – He always knows –
just what I am… we’re so close,
only love could have shown me and I chose…
life eternal – always with the One I adore,
this is a beautiful promise I can’t ignore,
He is the light of my life, the One I call for…
whenever I need a generous mentor,
One I can believe in forevermore!
Every so often, my mind wanders back to the summer of my youth, where a specific memory awaits.
Having completed my first year at University, I’ve come home. My younger brother John, fifteen, seems all grown up, so different. He’s gotten taller but it’s more than that.
I'm surprised when he offers me a tour of his new ‘Boyz Only’ clubhouse. I almost wonder if he has missed me while I was away, likely not. The shell of a hand-me-down camper has been converted into a hangout. When I mention that he keeps it surprisingly neat, he snickers and reveals his stash of hidden girlie magazines, safe from the inevitable parental inspection.
I am impressed, and at the same time, I can’t help but feel like I’ve entered a time bubble, a door, a transition. On one hand, it feels surreal; on the other hand, it’s simply an honour to just sit here as a guest.
I talk to John about what it was like to adapt to life in the big city. He talks to me about his recent exploits and his adventures with his friends. It isn’t long before we reminisce about the escapades we shared when we were younger. In our pauses, we’re somehow cognizant that we’re one step closer to adulthood, to what we might call freedom.
In the past year, I haven’t thought much about home and our countryside fields. For me it’s more about what the future has to offer. But on this day, it’s tangible how John and I are setting out on different journeys. He is next in line to fly the coop and I'm sure he realizes it. As we spread our wings, it’s obvious that the gap will only grow.
This precise moment clings golden to me, ever so close to the surface of my heart.

What is it to be a Tree?
Do trees ever mind being so close ...so intertwined ?
Do they ever long for space as I do?
Do they prefer to be so meshed…branches touching branches
all the time or do they like me long
............................................................for autonomy
Do their branches reach for another’s touch?
….................stretching to find it?
Do they cling and pine when isolated …as we do sometimes?
When a tree falls does another one grieve?
...............................................................
Do they sometimes wish to be free?
To be as free
as he does....... from me?
Does life always include such serious stuff?
Or do trees simply shift in the breezes
of superfluous fluff?
Do they ever
wish
to find
the sea?
To fly
to fly?
just
like me?
What on earth is it like ....to be?
to be a standing…a standing only ...are they lonely?
beloved tree?
What is it?
to be a tree?
