Children's Love

Thinking positive is hard to do
When so many people are
telling you what you should do
I'm learning again to have faith
in my heart
I feel this is a beginning of a
brand new start
When all else fails look above
God has released a special dove
To look upon me no matter
what I do
To reassure me that he cares
too
With faith in one hand and God
in the other
I'm so blessed I'm a mother
Two beautiful children to hold
and to love
They were sent to me from God
above
Unconditional love from the
start
They have embraced it with all
their heart
My children are there when I
fall
Gently whispering,  mum you
can stand tall
I wipe my tears and opened my
eyes
To see my children standing so
young and wise
With  warmth and love in their
heart
I promised to god I will make a
new start
My children mean the world to
me
And this wasn't a good place to
be
Ten steps forward and no steps
back
walking with my children on the
right track

Life 2

LIFE
Life is a gift
But we have never cared
Destruction of the rain forest
And no animal is spared
Arise great Pro-man
Now raise up your sword
Do not let materialism deceive you
So stick to your word
The petroleum wells will dry up some day
And they will be no money for you to pay with in that way
The gold mines will diminish one day
And there will be no fields for our children to play
Arise Pro-human
Defend mother earth
Do not think of wealth
Or all that you can get
Life is beautiful
So let us be dutiful
As a Good Samaritan
And help your fellow African
Chinese or European
In need
To create a paradise devoid of greed
That is what I call Utopia
Not until we die
When it is all over
We can not let the children suffer
I have seen pain in my old days
The weak rise
And the mighty fall
Armies rise to fight at the clarion call
Only the truth remains
Like a tree that stands tall
In the next millennia where shall we be?
Vanity after vanity
The rest is history
Life is a gift
And love is a blessing
Let us unite this world
And teach a good lesson

Premium Member Children's Dreams

The dreams of children are simple things.
Of sunshine, laughter and a puppy's love,
Dress-up clothes or a new baseball glove.
The warm lap of comfort a mother brings.

These things should be every child's right.
For many these dreams will never come true,
Some little ones have a different view.
Their life is a struggle both day and night.

Food and shelter seem such a basic need.
To feel safe and warm at the day's end,
But so many for themselves have to fend.
How can these children possibly succeed?

Oh you kings in your castles so grand...
For dreams of children please take a stand.

Premium Member Where Did the Time Go

How did the time fly away?
It seems they were young minutes ago
And then, so quickly, they did grow.
Was it really more than a day?

They were brides just recently.
How did the time fly away?
It seems just the other day
They were children playing with me.

How did the time fly away?
Why did they all grow up so fast?
Why did the years go flying past?
It seems like yesterday.

Now my children have children too
And time for them will also fly.
Grandbabies grown, they'll wonder why
The years so quickly flew.

Life's Unfair

Life’s Unfair

A husband and wife grow old together
You think and hope it will last forever

When you hear of children getting hurt
You hope it’s only a little fall in the dirt

So many accidents happen because of a drunk driver
Why is the drunk the only survivor

Parents hurt the children they love
Men hurt the women they should love

Some rich and famous do wrong and get a pass
Up and up goes the price for gas

The elderly get mugged and beat
Some people are hurt and left lying in the street

Women and children are molested
Children that are not protected

Men that are considered a deadbeat
People that are forced to live on the street

Children that are terribly ill
Parents can’t pay the bill

So much more of life is unfair
Lots of people that don’t care

Echoes
                                    By Chuck Keys

The park is empty,
Littered with broken bottles,
Unsightly weeds of irregular lengths,
Varying debris and memories of bygone days.

Void of voices from games past played
Of cheers, sneers, angers and joys
When children screamed, frolicked and stayed.
The wind and silence scream a loud.

Families, picnics and camp fires echo from the past.
Shared foods of gastrointestinal delight flowed freely.
Desserts of Smores, with chocolate bars, fired crispy marshmallows
Smushed inside graham crackers.... Mmm.

Where have yesterday's children gone to play?
To fields of varying sports,
Arenas for love, war, tranquility,
For sport, fame and fortune or death.

The journey begins and ends with each moment of life.
Roads traveled daily become the final journey,
Made up of echoes from past travels,
As life and death converge into an ongoing existence.

Never ending.

Premium Member Temperament Difference

It came into my mind of long ago
How the clothesline held diapers in a row
When on those very cold days of winter
Those diapers dried on folding wooden dryer
Hanging over that ancient floor furnace
While children scattered toys skillfully
Experts were they at their fun time of play
Now there is no very ancient furnace
The children no longer play on the floor
They have gone their very separate ways
Different each in personality
Temperament difference now plainly seen

Don'T Cry Don'T Cry

little children don't you cry
don't let faith be your last alibi
Little children don't you cry
Rest your head upon my chest
Pour your heart out till you can
rest
Don't cry little children don't cry
Instead let me cry for you

Premium Member The Orphans

Weeds grow around, under the fence that leans
Wagon sits in barn yard needing mending
Hay rake left in the field to use between
Summer showers, rake hay for winter feeding

Wagon sits in barn yard needing mending
Since father died none takes charge of farm
Summer showers, rake hay for winter feeding
Five children left orphaned no one sends alarm

Since father died none takes charge of farm
Hay rake left in the field to use between
Five children left orphaned no one sends alarm
Weeds grow around, under the fence that leans

(My mother's mother was left a widow with five children ages 12 years to 6 months. Mother's
father
was bitten by a rabid dog. The doctor sent for medicine to treat the illness and gave him the
meds. The doctor told him that he needed to rest stay out of the heat but he felt that he had
to
move the saw mill to another location so that they could start work and this was a fatal
mistake.)

How Lucky We Are

Been so lonely a long, long time
Cannot do it wrong, wrong time
So dazed and confused
That I feel slightly used

From some abuse I sustained long ago…
This could have made me go very slow…
Not on your life, I go very fast…
I want to get there, Don’t want to be last…

I was beat like a man by the time I was 5
It is a wonder that I came out alive
My grandmother died at the hands of this man
It is a cold case file so what’s the plan

I could never do what was done to me
Wanting my children to be wild and free
Live your life freely for you will know
To open your eyes and watch the show

I lived a life that was not for the meek
Scared for my life every day of the week
Once it was known what happened to me
My mom made it so we could be free

She was scared for her life as well you know
Now none of that matters we were able to go
Holding a knife to his greasy throat
She escorted him out to the dirty road

How lucky we are to be free
I sure am happy to be me
My children have children that make me smile
Think I will go run the miracle mile

Street Youth

There are children out there with nowhere to go

Who have to sit and freeze out in the snow

They are the next victims of the street

With nowhere to go but bad people to meet

They are like the dead who have been forgot

With no warm homes or proper food that is hot

Instead they get sucked into doing drugs

Or even transformed into terrible child thugs

These children once loved in a good home

Left out on the streets to live on their own

So tell me the truth, is this what you wanted?

A world of children whose thoughts get haunted

Haunted by abuse and their drugs illusions

By the alcohol and the phony delusions

That their dreams are nothing but hopeless

And their poor lives are totally wasted

You tell me what you were thinking

When saw one and could almost see their hopes sinking
