Premium Member Virtuoso

A tune that’s doused in giocoso
will leave listeners with a full heart;
It bleeds with a rhythm staccato;

Fly guitar that’s not born to follow
joins forces that act like a kickstart;
A tune that’s doused in giocoso;

Sangere holding a melos with flow
throws that lyrical poisonous dart;
It bleeds with a rhythm staccato;

The message is kind but not mellow,
it’s more like a ferocious jumpstart;
A tune that’s doused in giocoso;

Falling into a chorus you know,
three minutes and thirty of fine art;
It bleeds with a rhythm staccato;

He’s such a graceful virtuoso,
emotions he tends to pick apart;
A tune that’s doused in giocoso,
it bleeds with a rhythm staccato.

Season of the Heart

Struggling to make sense out of the bible,
Think it a lot of babble,
Or just another fable.

Before you bin your bible,
Which would be regrettable,
Take a look at the other book I have on my table.

A book that could play a part,
In a change of heart,
A book that stands apart,
With words full of  heart,
And daily quotes that could give your day a kickstart,
With communication tips to impart,
So you will take heart,
When things look like falling apart,

The book
Seasons of the heart,
By Fr John Powell, S.J.

Start Your Day

Kickstart your day
Preparing delightful meals
For your family.

Choosing the Ride

Once keys jingled,
ignition and clutch
growling
with one open mouth.

The ride is smoother now,
no need to kickstart or throttle
the brain.

We let our bodies talk,
through the gears.

Hold my stick honey,
while I change lanes
looking for potholes.

I fall asleep,
when not fighting your curves.

We all know that recharging,
a Tesla
is a peaceful way to die,

let us speed past darlin,
just as sexy
as age will allow.

Premium Member Daydreaming

Kickstart the creation of abstract art

Slow play the haze in a wandering day

Drip coffee with hints of toffee

Beach bum take your pick and strum

Careless pain from a neck strain

Light pelting from clouds melting

Rhythmic waves dig sandcastle graves

Strangers stroll with a glance so droll

Horizon anonymous with sea synonymous

Lost in time chasing an elusive rhyme

Premium Member Immersed Huitain

Fire burns through the old me raging
it triggers my transformation;
The ashes fall with the cleansing
and build a rugged foundation;
Flames bring about reinvention
that forces my cocoon to burst
and kickstart this revolution
with passion I become immersed.

Marrying a Young Wife

Confusion just settles in Julius’ house
And refuses to leave like well-fed mouse.
Julius needs nothing short of a tom cat
To out push whom he is sure is a vile rat:
A wife too cheerful with younger men
One: Ex-Boyfriend when he counts to ten…

Also, a wife whose bosom laughs at guys,
While she makes sure it seems fantastic lies!

Old Anna he’s dodged can give no child,
Younger Stella with his wedding ring wild
‘’ Childless Marriage to this Rubbish is mild!
The newest opinion of Julius Rothschild…

Julius can swear blokes are tasting his apple
And prays for moment he’d with this grapple
‘’God! Let me see in a wrong place her blouse,
To kickstart the handling of a smart louse.

Premium Member Your Gift

Through my bedroom window
offered with pure intent
you give me the gift
of a lavish sunrise

Cheerful and bright
warm and delightful
playful upon my skin
a kiss to start my day

A sunshine rich enough
to kickstart an early spring
and all the promises beyond

You give to me the sun and more
and overjoyed with sweet fulfilment
my heart rejoices with thanks

How I savour this precious moment
when you offer me the sun and all
its rays of precious sweetness
it fills my heart with gratitude

Sunset On My Soul

As my sunset soul dips into the ocean,
The moon rises with an eerie glow,
The darkness has a scary notion
Of its own.

As white hues turn to violet,
Then scarlet and to orange,
As cool wind starts to blow,
Ripen the seeds all sown.

The stars at the tip of my pen,
As she sits and stares at the silhouette,
Mesmerised by nature’s charm,
She thinks of it all.

As she looks at the stars,
In the sky engraved,
She sees those horrible scars,
Put down by us all,
With endangered,
Every being, big or small.

Still in this new found haven,
She sits down smitten,
As she swings on the peg of life,
Rocking gently between joy and strife.
Life flows on ,
Talking all,
Giving back none,
She now has avenged,
Taken her deserved revenge,
Instils it in our heart,
As you try to forget,
She gives it a kickstart,
Giving back tit for tat.

As my soul sets in the sea,
I finally let her be.......

Premium Member First Signs of Spring

Early spring rumbles
in its grunge of grey
it's a prelude to the sun
and effervescent life

Its muffled inner gurglings
await the miracle of thaw
and all its bursts of promises
of crocus bulbs and sprouts

Mere faded remembrances
the brittle leaves of yesteryear
a season buried under snow
its pure white coat long gone

Naked branches barely stir
still groggy in their sleep
await the surge of energy
to kickstart their awakening

Relentless rhythm of seasons
under threat of heavy clouds
will wash away winter’s decay
and welcome spring in all its glory

Ceiling Talk

i promised him i’d never take a drink
but i’m finding myself tempted.
everyday is the same now
same ceiling, same coffee stain
same spot on the kitchen floor.

it’s raining while the sun still shines
and i’m swimming in the mud
that gathers underneath the little tree
growing in my yard,
it’s becoming harder to breathe
without someone here to give me
a reason to want to,
someone to kickstart my heart,
to get it beating for something other
than the pictures on this screen.
i want to make a salted margarita
on the rocks, and throw it at the wall
because it wouldn’t taste good if
i tried to drink it,
i’d rather taste you and snowflakes
and a cup of cranberry cocktail,
all things that make me happy and
all things i wouldn’t ever choose first.

i’m not quite sure what
this says about me,
maybe i’m not too good at making
up my mind or remembering to breathe
or smiling at the things that i used to,
but i have this ceiling and this coffee stain,
this spot on the kitchen floor,
all things that will always be there and
all things that were always there before.

Premium Member This Old Body

This old body's not state of the art
Served me well but now's falling apart
Like Reese's Peeces
In bits and pieces
Only thing working well's the kickstart
