Faith Is A Fine Invention

Faith — a sudden Remedy —
Applied — without a Scar —
The Patient wonders — if it heals —
Or magnifies — the War —

The Candle — shows a narrow Room —
But darkens — all the Sky —
The Needle — points a certain North —
Yet trembles — if you try —

Belief — a timid Architect —
Constructs — without a Plan —
And when the Roof — collapses —
No Tenant — but the Man —

Faith is a fine Invention —
To satisfy the Blind —
But those — who seek a larger Proof —
Must frame a sterner Mind —

Women Who Changed The World

They moved like dawn through shadowed years,
With quiet hands and blazing hearts,
Their dreams outshone the weight of fears,
They rewrote fate in fractured parts.

Marie lit atoms' trembling core,
Her lantern glowed through science' veil;
While Rosa sat and shook the war
Of silence—made the strong rails pale.

Malala, bright with sharpened pen,
Still sings where tyrants silence books;
Jane healed the lives of chimp and den,
With patient heart and watching looks.

Ada wove numbers into flight,
A code that danced before the light—
They rose like stars from time's deep sea,
And left a map for you and me.

Hair Clogged The Magical Drain

As Far as our Eyes will see,
In a Vast, and seemingly
endless World
to the Future’s greatest of Extents,
in a little Hut,
Hidden in a Swamp,
Lies little Old

They Eventually found
a Beautiful spring,
during their driest of seasons,
although seasoning doesn’t matter --

The Decision to have a whiff,
without a -- Sniffer, may Just have been
the primary decision
For
Why this whole
story
Started.

Beginning with Licks,
progressing to Great

Wooly Serpent.

As No one has
seen
A serpent of coat,

How often can you

Nor Was it clean, of

An ancient Serpent’s hair,

and this water,
had much of
serpent’s Father.
His scales and much

Slithering Out of this sort-of Creation,
came
Serpent Himself,
Shining without,

Mothers of Invention, Deliver

Silence mourning,  you who've borne no children;
mute derision and bear it no longer.
Beg not for mercy if you are barren
for barreness may prove you the stronger.
Your fruit lies in the way which you conquer
scorn - apparent un-productivity.
Another's offspring - your proclivity.
Teach them truths which bearers fail to mention;
teach self-discipline as necessity.
Deliver well, mothers of invention.

A sleuth who thought truth too uncouth
Invented a villain named ‘Ruth’.
Her crimes, though quite quaint,
Compelled him to faint,
Reviving his nerves with vermouth.

Premium Member My Invention

I’ve just invented something that I think you will applaud
I cannot tell you what it does or even what it’s called
I made it out of bits and pieces found up in my loft
I stuck a switch on one end and some sponge to make it soft

It has no moving parts so there’s no need for messy grease
I’ve hammered in some screws and nails so there’s no missing piece
It doesn't buzz or rumble… if it did you wouldn’t feel it
And as its purpose is unclear nobody’s gonna steal it

I painted one half red because the other half is green
My grandma said that colour combo simply can’t be seen
I didn’t have a plug so I won’t ever plug it in
And so you can be sure that it won’t make an awful din

It won’t wake up at five a.m. and get you out of bed
And if you wear it like a hat it won’t mess with your head
It’s wood and plastic, bits of tin, assorted nuts and bolts
It’s also very safe because it uses zero volts

If I could ever switch it on would it spring into life
Would it be an aide for me or useful to my wife
And could it be the best invention nobody has seen
I’m so proud of my red and green, invisible machine

Invention of Man

Invention of man
A marvel of ***** genius,
Some spring mere fun.

Invention of Today Problem of Tomorrow

Made something new,
People clap and cry,
"This invention will save the day!"
"Things are faster now!"
~People Happy~
A hundred or even less years pass,
People dying, loss and despair,
Invention of today,
              Problem of tomorrow,
The helping hand can become the Bringer of Sorrows,
The ones that do,
The ones that try,
Have the same effect,
Invention of today,
               Problem of tomorrow,
But DONT STOP!
Try to think,
This world might end some day,
"No wonder why?"
But YOU don't reply

Premium Member The Invention of Love

The Invention of Love®

By Mark D. Stucky
When did God invent love?
Does God still hold the patent?
If patent protection expired,
is love now public domain?

How could love condense
from seething plasma
spawned by a Big Bang?

Genesis describes creation,
but how could elusive love
emerge from clay creations?

Although verses proclaim God loves us,
did love exist before humans did?
Were feelings of love present between
the Trinity’s different Persons?
When humans did appear,
was love created just for us?
Or were humans formed in order
to be loved with divine passion?

The answers I would love to know.

(Love® is a registered trademark of God.
All divine rights are unreservedly given.)

Government is an invention

Heart's Invention

Come. Invent.
Do you believe in all these
fairy-tales about love?
Or are you a hardcore skeptic,
who abhors romance?
Come. Invent the ghost of love
perched on your porch like a
silk Persian rug.
Love's a new mansion full of
possibilities, a heart's shrine,
be a faithful custodian.
Come. Invent.
Let's face it. You need a whole new
wardrobe for your emotions.
Stop procrastinating. Come.
Invent, a new destiny, a new
travel itinerary.

Let's go to the apothecary shop
-- Ah, it's closed over the noon hour
We'll stop by the milliner then
  -- I see. It's closed then too...

I guess we'll just be forced to play
'Peek-a-Boo' at the Local Loo
