Notes About The Poem

I am my own invention

I am my own invention
I have few moving parts
in the physical sense

I can play love’s shallow, skipping jester
and caper as whimsically as the cuckoo bird’s call
or I can be as impulsive as Jouliet

He wears his charm well
after thin dusk
as the moon is cued
and longing gently serenades
like the touch of night air

our touches are not soft
but strong and pure
how summate is our commitment
to a miraculous physicalness
as we solve love’s perfect equations

something erotic, physical or spiritual
seems to be accomplished
as lust’s spotlight fades

and moonlights exchanged
for something blue
we lay half asleep
as the dawn wins its queue
and I am only me again.

Dear Anais, well it moves with such sensual intelligence, a self becoming, dissolving, and returning through touch, moonlight, and the aftermath of desire. A beautifully wrought piece, tender and bold at once. Now put the drink down and go study. lol! Winter Blessings, Anais, Daniel

GEEZE! And THIS is the kind of stuff you can write to mellow out from the crash of your studies? . What a wake-up! I don’t know that I even needed to have coffee this morning after reading this at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. / <3

I'm glad you liked it =] I wrote some of it on the morning metro and some between classes. When I think of a few lines I want to get them down before I forget them.
