Momentary

This little fleeting fleck of time we share
Suspended breath caught in frosty air
The Morning Glory trumpets the dawn
But withers and wilts by late afternoon
And we too are but a sigh of a moment
Lost in the passing wind sojourned
A momentary glint in Nature’s eye
We carry our burden of ephemerality
Like a Mayfly circling its solitary day
We flutter and flap between birth and
Death our little gains and tiny failures
Buried in the deep earth of nothingness.

Round and round the seasons blink
See the corn turn gold from green
Touch the silent river eddies
Twisting down to the brawling sea
The surging marauding bully surf
Molesting the stubborn granite rock
These primordial foes will never chime
Trapped between lightening and thunder
Their tussle is the earth’s oldest paradigm
And we in our little moment stand small
On the shifting sands all our endeavours
Are dissolved by the folding waves of time.

Insignificant

Are we the same my dear?
Do we shed the same blood?
Do we breathe the same air?
Do we fight for the same battle?
Or do we fight against each other?
Do you pray every night for my downfall as I pray for yours?
Or do you smell the same flowers that I do?
Are we the same or different?
We may be unalike in our fights
But in the end
We are just one battle in a world of war.

Just a dot on a dot in this universe
each being so small, until traversed
to unit with creation larger than life
to feel the force, just to be... without strife

Premium Member Insignificant Monster No More

Drained of opaque innocence
Perfected by your toxicity,
I was laid bare beneath the narcissistic sun,
Searing deep within dehydrated pupils,
Stripping my soul of all humanity,
until your sinister tongue was all I could hear.

Your empty promises clothed these bones;
running was no longer an option,
as hiding became nearly impossible within your shadows.

Voices, eating through my cerebral cortex,
tainted even the demons that resided within my mind.

Minuscule reminders of my life before became particles of dust,
floating through suffocating air,
choking the little oxygen you let me breathe,
until the poison became too much to take.

Falling to my knees, vomiting your vile lies,
my life flashed like motion pictures before my eyes.

A choice was given:
either purge—rip the cursed, stinging nettle from my veins,
or die under your cruelty.

I will not rot for an insignificant monster;
a cleansing is long overdue.

The Insignificant Me

Against thy will this life that I feel really just does not matter
Direct defense the pressures immense losing what's already lost
The voices, silent word, it's all absurd, all this continual chatter

Actions won't define and really not mine abandoning all self control
The loser, the winner, the forever beginner unable to afford the cost
Breaking flat broke, my words will choke crawling back into my hole

Nothing to share, caution beware, don't believe all that you hear
Left all alone behind an unturned stone at glass where it was tossed
Invisible to touch, overwhelming too much, I think the end is finally near...

Insignificant troubles

Each time that we ponder,
it can’t get any worse.
A new day brings some change,
that’s attached to our purse.

Usually its something small,
attempting to burst our bubble.
Feeling blessed and highly favored,
makes it insignificant trouble.

the way by the way

compelling annoyed
so in tune touching my peace
still bothersome so

Insignificant;
But it really saved a life,
checking in with you.

Ghost

Like a ghost
That is what you are to me
Days have turned into weeks
Not one Hello or How are you
Not a sound
Not a word
Vanished
Much to my displeasure, disappointment and heartache
I should not be surprised
Because we've covered this ground before, you and I
The last time, I even called you out on it
And still...
You find a way to haunt me

Insignificant

Life is a peephole,
a single insignificant entry
on to a vastness,
this peephole is all we got.

On One of Life's Totally Insignificant Incidents

I was walking back home through a park tonight
when something happened that gave me fright.
A big dog romped up and placed its teeth round my heel
and then romped away without taking a bite.
Good thing this dog must have just had a good meal.

Insignificant Realities

He spoke of a dream he had-

“I'm passing through a pyramid -
I am being pushed toward the outside
toward the light, and I am wet”.

This was too easy.
I told him
I understood the symbolism:
‘Your dream is about a spiritual rebirth.’
He seemed content.

The next day
he died of a heart attack
while leaving the glass pyramids
which form anti-chambers
to the Louvre museum.

It was raining at the time.

Insignificant

Staring at the Universe a speck of decaying dust, roaming like restless rust
A sovereign statue underrated & unjust, searching solitudes of trust
With a mirage of mirrors in my view, steering my soul to scantly skew
Meticulously moving quizzically on cue, banished beneath the blue

We are Nomads of the rising Sun, surviving the fields of oblivion as one
First, we crawl, walk then run…exiting the earth when we are done
We are but a tear in the oceans of time, drowning in a downhill climb
A speck of lamented light or sublime, a phantom peripheral pantomime

Dormant death encroaches with remorse, only to silence and enforce
Invader of dreams like a Trojan-Horse, never deviating from its course
Stay awake from this slaving sleep, taking away your breath with a sweep
Does the lion lie with the sheep, when we cross the abyss of the deep?

Insignificant

I always have felt unimportant.
Never truly believing.
So I just
Ignored everyone around me
Going to their classes
Not worrying about me.
I sat there quietly
Feeling like a nobody as
I was bawling,
Crying on the inside
And knowing it was pointless to worry
Now that everyone hates me.
Trust me, I am just insignificant.
