Inanimate
Not alive
Not in the group of animals nor humans
Only differences may be of the same substance
Yet have not a soul, spirit, brain lacking signs of life and consciousness
Nonliving without being

Arguing with inanimate objects
Can be very distressing
To them
My Roomba drove itself down the stairs
The Keurig switched to decaf
Alexa told me where to go
Siri filed for a restraining order
My iphone deleted the “find my phone” app
My robot pet brought poop into the house
When I hit the “autopark” button
My car parks itself around the corner from the house
My security cameras only watch what I’m doing
My drone took off with a raven
I googled “How to get rich”
It told me to sell my organs
I checked my heart rate on my apple watch
It said “faster – you’re still breathing”
While hiking my phone beeped
The message read…
You are entering a dead zone…STAY THERE.

Who sees and does not describe,
who knows the truth
and nothing explains,
who can solve the equation,
but remains inert,
who knows right from wrong,
but nothing clarifies
who can do something good,
but nothing good does...
Is much less than human,
much less than a man...
Is much more an inanimate puppet,
life It does not live... it just passes..!

Our car must wonder why the heck
It isn’t being used.
Cosmetics in my make-up drawer
Are equally confused.
My pocketbook forlornly sits,
Sure it’s been left behind.
My brand-new jumpsuit in the closet’s
Crowded and confined.
My MetroCard and cash are tucked
Inside my wallet’s folds,
Perplexed at never leaving,
Stuck inside their stuffy holds.
I must be going crazy
Thinking ‘bout these lifeless things
But when boredom is the way of life,
Some merriment it brings.

At night, a huge creature floats to the surface of the tart ocean to dream into the moonlight, which barely penetrates the sulfur clouds. She sighs, her skin made of stainless steel is luminescent in the dark, her nuclear heart continues to work, but she is empty: the last restless souls have long gone from her body. She floats out of habit: inanimate things can’t dream. What did she dream before?
blue sky verdant strip
of land on the horizon…
she doesn't recall

Crystal ball what do you see
Why is the world laughing at me
Tell me what can you foresee
Show me where to regain my integrity
Crystal ball do you mock my lack of dignity
Give me answer, give me a clue
What is there left for me to do
If I ran without a plan to ever return
Would I destroy the flame inside that makes me burn
Do i stay inside the shadows, and simply remain so shallow
Why do I rant, and sit to bellow, throw you hard against the wall
Shatter my last hopes to end my fall, I feel my insides bleed
Picked up the shards, proceeded to feed
Choking to death on a crystal ball

They say I'm inanimate and hardly ever move,
mostly hang out, eat, sleep 20 hours and occasionally poop,
that want me to entertain,
they must all be insane,
Hey I'm a sloth and thats all I can do!

Have you ever had this happen to you?
You're walking along, minding your business
When a pole leaps out in front of you
Rattles your brain leaving you senseless
Inanimate objects aren't so inanimate
It seems they have a mind of their own
You're strolling along when a boulder appears
Stub your toe and it hurts to the bone
Sometimes when your patio doors are clean
It's just like there's no glass at all
With a confident stride, you slam into them
Smash your nose and you try not to bawl
You're running for a bus and then it happens
You slip on a discarded banana peel
You wind up with your bum high in the air
Doing amazing acrobatic cartwheels
You wonder how these inanimate objects
Seem to know when it's right to attack
It happens when you surely least expect it
And your wheels come right off the track!

cold and steely with no mind
smooth but rough at the same time
no control over the damage caused
needed for protection
but lusted after for the power to rule

Inanimate objects are more introverts
Than plants, insects and animals!
They also have soul and intelligence!
It sounds weird but it’s true
They also say things they want to say
In their own minds in human languages
But making more feeble sounds!
From a close distance
They also hear what others say in their minds!
From a close distance
They also hear what humans say with their mouth!
They also praise God and prostrate in imagination!

Diary vs poetry.
Conscientious, I turn the pages
Of the riots spilled, emotions stalked
And confessions redefined.
Words of the same caricature
Sometimes misplaced, sometimes misinterpreted
But all speaking the same..
When Diary is my best friend,
Poetry, my lover
Passion instills my heart both ways,
I can’t live without either.
Betrayal, will be the occasion
When my desires are personified,
So,
I retire from humanity,
The world of words:
Calls me every night,
Either in rhymes, or in plain verses
I surrender my sins, divine curses,
The one who had been my confidante,
Had been an incomplete revelation:
My most beautiful work,
But he never saw it.
Concealed in my heart,
It will remain forever,
Till I find inspiration again.

Come Easter day, the little ones are impatient to shove down their throats
their candy-coated forest-folk, and to this all their time they devote.
And who am I, you kindly ask?--I'm the idol of woodlander sweets!--
more scrumptious than a caramel egg, more momentous than marshmallow Peeps!
Much like a Christmas ornament that enriches the face of a tree,
no basket is complete without an appropriate helping of me!
My brittle body's born to be in a wrapper of decorative hue;
though such a fact I do disdain, as I do my adherence to you!
How cute I must appear to be with my chocolate antennas and tail,
but such a face receives no grace--for alas!--you will put me on sale.
Oh how I wish to someday flee, for my fate is profoundly unfair:
I'm a chocolate dessert
though I wish to assert
my dislike of this strife
and my edible life
it's a terrible shame
that I'll always remain
a delicious inanimate hare!

cold has no time, motion has no voice
and it has been so long since the stones
cried out in the open fields. hardened
still cold stones whose only reflection is
to bruise all flesh.
graveyard vulgar granite lips have little faith.
so the eulogy goes something like this.
he was always such a good drunk
when empty bottles around him went clunk.
happy as piss in a jar that is a wishin
some raise a bottle others just miss him.

I only want to die,
I want to scream,
and to be a puppet
to never have to breathe.
I only want to freeze
I am about to freak
and to be a porcelain doll
to never have to speak.
I only want to sleep
I want forever again
and to never live,
to become a mannequin.
