Southern Baptist

The white church lifts its fragile hands
Against the burning sky,
And hymns drift out like whispered prayers
Too tender not to die.

The pine trees lean to hear the words
Of grace and quiet fear,
While summer presses close with heat
And judgment drawing near.

A woman bows her careful head,
Her sorrow folded tight,
And hopes that God will read her soul
More gently than the light.

The preacher’s voice, a trembling flame,
Declares both love and loss—
A mercy wide as southern fields,
A shadow shaped like cross.

And somewhere in the gathered hearts
Where faith and longing blend,
A question blooms no hymn can still,
No certainty defend.

For even in the softest psalm,
Where hallelujahs rise,
There lingers doubt as quiet as
The floating dust in open eyes.

Premium Member THE TREASURE CHEST OF THE KING

The King’s chest of treasure lay bare
Devasted by the cruel jealousies
Of the madness of commoner’s warfare
For dominance in power heresies.
But, finally God’s glory was restored
And all the former graces and strength came in
On fluttering wings the Holy Ghost bestowed
The wealth and riches of heaven carried back within

In an afternoon of providence’s reconstruction
In the perfumed mist of apple blossoms
And Italian boxwood topiary structures.
The angels were its witness with tearing eyes
They started singing Glorias and Hallelujahs

Premium Member WORDS

Without them, there’d be no poetry
No songs, no lip service
No books, no Bible, no dictionaries
No libraries or Barnes and Noble
No languages, no need for Babl
No googoo’s or gaga’s
No yelling for the home team
No hallelujahs or amens

Without words, we’d all be pets.

WITH A GENTLE HAND (MYSTIC)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No stained glass, just a quiet sanctuary~
     her hands, a cathedral of skin and bones.
Eyes closed, fingers laced together, a fragile turret~
    her hands pointing towards heaven.
With her gentle hands, she silently prays~
     a silent language spoken to the Unseen.
Her knuckles, beads on the rosary of faith~
     the soft curve of her hands saying surrender.
In her private convent, a connection is formed ~
      effervescence flows; tranquility descends upon her spirit.
The heavy burden of suffering is brief~
     given over to a higher source.
Her prayers acknowledge something greater~
     an admission of need, a submission humble.
No grandiose ‘hallelujahs’ or declarations~
     only murmuring of hope, held in her tender hands.
beyond this world, high up In the skies
there is a Nature beyond our comprehension
where heaven Transcribes with faith to baptize
this is a Home too amazing not to mention
hallelujahs Encourage the souls who believe
in our Savior, whose Love will not deceive
He Is the answer for everyone who is in need
He is light that is everlasting, despite our Greed
although Hearts may worry or grieve our past
He offers grace and love That will always last!
Premium Member An Aura About It
    Two nights from now
    for the 3,337th time
    Israel will tell the story
      of her redemption
      from Egypt
      from generations of enslavement there
    On that night there will be
    suspense, screams and tears
    rejoicing and Hallelujahs
      tears of fear and relief
      cries of jubilation after all these years
    Even before you ask it
    the answer to your question --
    An aura surrounds Passover night
       an aura of anticipation
       of expectation
    that God Himself
    in all His glory
    will wreak havoc
    and judgment
      on Pharaoh and Egypt
    On her no-gods
    on ‘Ra,’ her ‘mighty Sun-god’
    on the Lamb, the ‘King of her gods’
      for He will do so by cover of Night
      slaying their every first-born
         after Israel slaughters the Lamb
Thinking About Pistol Annies - Interstate Gospel - 2018
Tensile strength bonding us,
    forever friends,
holding hands, eyes heavenward,
  we three are ONE,
      One with the jungle,
          one with the trees,
             one like the Father,
     the Son and the Holy Ghost;
Glittering green and gold,
we glow,
standing tall,
singing hallelujahs;
Feet feeling the fractured forest,
      we flash fire,
          we are soul sisters,
             we stand together,
   united,
      unique,
         unperturbed,
             unmatched;
Blending voices in heavenly harmony,
we create country canticles,
Hush! hearken to us
celebrating celestialism!
We've found what you're searching for!
               Look up!
         Light linking us,
              lighting us,
                  lifting us,
                      liberating us!!
Premium Member twilight tremors
tonight …I’ll romance scented silence
 as dusk kisses the heart of harlequin horizon~
dripping memories ~ in cacophonous clemency…
but to feel the finesse flames of love,
illuminating the trembling tip of a sizzling skyline,
   I’ll draw a smoky stairway to the stars;
an ambience of garnet granules… shifting, in crooning colors…
for between the rising sighs of the sun
   and the setting eyes of the moon ~ farewells float;
   like ineffable verses frozen in timeless rhythm..
I ponder, is the sky a gloaming mirror of eternal footprints,
   unveiling hallelujahs of heartbeats in heaven?
as I still hear your song, paused on repeat, in our favorite chorus…
   ~ perhaps I am a word dreamer ~
     saturated in weeping winds;
        trembling from poetic fever
          jolted by twilight tremors
  bursting forth acrylic dews
               in pigments of pensive blue…
Premium Member From Up There
I saw a boy with hands closed in prayer
Beside him his mother cried in despair
Can I assist asked I
She looked up to the sky
“Ask glue remover to drop from up there.”
*+*
And glue remover from the heavens did fall
Hallelujahs rang out from one and from all
But the boy looked about "I'm just being devout
My hands weren't glued together at all".
The End Day's
And so we wait
knowing we must miss it.
Hoping it happens
the day after
we are no longer around.
Tomorrow arrives
and despite all its beauty
it looks like hell.
It figures though –
we were assured that
up until the End of Day’s
all would be certainly not be well.
Thus being righteously screwed;
even though we stayed up late
painting hallelujahs on the ceiling
and promised to be as good
as God could make us.
Hush!! the quietly;
God creations speaking
Brightly, ever so inside of me;
those the clouds cry out
and the wind whispers
as the colors of nature sing
Hush!! humanity
Listen onto those the birds in the trees
God is tweeting, tweet-tweet-a dee;
His words are speaking
Hallelujah
Be still before Him
Praise, Worship and adore Him
Hal-le, ha-le Hallelujahs
those the clouds cry out
and the wind whispers
as the colors of nature sing
(Listen-Listening)
Hush!! humanity
Listen onto those the birds in the trees
God is tweeting, tweet-tweet-a dee;
His words are speaking
(With thine ear, peace be still listening Listen)
those the clouds cry out
and the wind whispers
as the colors of nature sing
Hush!! the quietly;
God creations speaking
Brightly, ever so inside of me,
Our Father, Our God trying to tell you something;
