iconic sunrise
I wear no disguise,
really.
as do butterflies,
earth, I colorize
freely.
golden moon full-size
lulls school bus allies
briefly.

White fluffy bunny, finger puppet, my grandson tries on for size.
Hopping off his finger and into the palm of my hand.
He checked price, told me to put toy back on shelf; full size cost less.

"Twas the night before Christmas" and I thought I was dead,
my feet felt like two big clumps of lead.
There was pounding in my head,
all I could see was red.
What a week this had been,
maybe I need a big glass of gin.
The house had to be really clean,
everywhere I hung red and green.
I started cooking my famous pies,
maybe they will win a huge prize.
No mash potatoes just lots of fries,
with a turkey that is full-size.
Tomorrow is Christmas day,
guess Santa will be here with his sleigh.
The kids will want to play,
to my warm bed I will run away.

It was late August, during summer break,
We went to our grandma’s village called Snake.
She had a small house beside a big lake;
She was known to people as Mrs. Blake.
She liked to live in the village alone;
There she loved to live a life of her own.
In her little field, corn seeds, she had sown;
That time to its full size the crop had grown.
Around the field, there was a mountain range…
There we went for harvesting for a change,
Not expecting anything in exchange.
As we were novices the work looked strange!
We worked since morning till evening untired;
The art of harvesting we had acquired.
Our work in the fields everyone admired;
The children of the village got inspired.
After the work, we returned from the field;
People welcomed us with smiles unconcealed.
And honored us by giving us a shield;
To them our whereabouts grandma revealed.

I need not touch you, for you to feel my ire
Ash to ashes, results so lastingly dire
My split second actions bring change to the worlds landscape
Devastating, ruling continents find no escape
I am divine light
Vicious, day or night
Instantaneous when I make a path to ground
Notorious preamble, to bone chilling sound
Exquisite, ruthless, random, my path dominant destruction
Living energy, a natural marvel of seduction
Inconsequential is your desire to stop me
Given just one strike, does it fell a full-size tree
Hammering down rebirth by electrical spire
True, as Canada burns, I started that fire

angels sweeping out flakes
lackadaisically
successive shift:
fast and furious
angels on break
storehouse still
to be emptied
funniest sight?
a full-size snowman
drops from the clouds
foreman’s mad
he smiles though
at the cheeriest
curveball snow
angel’s never angry more
than a millisecond
heaven’s work a joy
yesterday, today and forever

Duane Bryers drew up the Hilda cartoons in the fifties
This is one, and she is truly one of the nifties.
You can tell she is a full size woman, comfortable in her skin.
She is an assertive gal in each cartoon she is in.
I have seen so many, and they are each rather fine.
Hilda is something, and she has a notorious mind.
She is happy to be full size, which is rare after Twiggy.
She is self-assured in each photo, not a big wiggy.
I really appreciate the pen of Duane Bryers now.
For Hilda is something; a big gal’s current “wow!”
I have looked up his work and I love it more every day.
Each one of his cartoons is a study in play.

It's All Funwonderful
by M. Griswold

It's totally funwonderful to be so alive.
To see all the wonders before one's eyes.
And marvel at life's mysteries to visualize.
It's all funwonderful when seen at full size.
All the majesty and beauty that we witness.
Everyday is a new creation of His sweetness.
If only we choose to see through the grayness.
One will see His light of hope and joyfulness.
He grant's us the ability to choose and grow.
In happiness within His creation so we know.
That He is God and He's in control of His show.
And it's all funwonderful within His radiant glow.

Music has always influenced my mind
it was something way down inside
my musical girls I would see every night
full-size posters on bedroom, I could confide
Olivia Newton-John following on 'Country Roads'
I felt 'So Hopelessly Devoted To You'
having seen 'Grease' on many occasions
so 'Physical' it felt 'I Need Love' too
Kate Bush rises me on 'Wuthering Heights'
such a haunting voice makes me 'Wow'
follow this beau 'Running Up That Hill'
dressed in black so stunning wets my brow
Debbie Harry made me always 'Dreaming'
'One Way Or Another' was of Blondie fame
'Heart Of Glass' stunned me to 'Rapture'
this New York babe made me never the same
This was me in late teens to early 20s
effected musically by my poster girls
even now love their voices to hear again
just memorising fills me with thrills
(I am going back in time to write a poem about my music collection that affected your life growing up and they were my poster girls.)

You thought you were being so clever Bobby
Sneaking my Halloween stash while I was asleep
But I heard you quietly rattling my candies
Being so entranced, you did not see me peep
After last years stealing, I devised a clever plan
For sure the final time of my treats, you will be a fan
If you would have asked, I would have given you some
Now your in a pickle, and feeling really dumb
Bro, I injected laxatives in that full size chocolate bar
That I am sure you hungeredly and enjoyably ate
Do not worry I will inform all of your buddies
Of your absence from school or uncomfortable late

Much smaller than her Mom's full size
she once took Mom's bra as a prize.
When placed on her tips
it fell to her hips
then dipped to sad land on her thighs.

Rejoice the end of deathly days
when winter's witch worked wicked ways.
Free from dark times we sing our praise.
Now sap flows after its long fast.
Snowdrops flare white in bright contrast.
Buds nourished, now they swell and burst.
From blackest loam to spectrum glow.
Bold blue, rich purple, bright yellow
and subtle shades of pastel show.
Aloft, we hear the 'caw-caw' cry
as fledglings flap and flare and try.
Some instinct keeps them in the sky.
Pond nymphs nourished and near full size,
awaiting warmth from summer skies.
Then shed their shell, make damselflies.
Rejoice the start of golden days.
Nature completes her complex ways.
For her magic we sing our praise.

I love Kim and Kim loves me
We’re as friendly as can be,
Were it not for this one thing
I’d endorse the kid as King.
But maturity eludes him
Hence our future’s looking grim.
He needs stop his clear obsession
Thwarting any credible progression,
Playing rocket man’s not smart,
While I’m busy doing my part.
I hope his folly’s just a phase of youth
Explaining actions so uncouth.
But if he simply doesn’t get it
Proving he’s just another misfit,
My full wrath will be unleashed
Then he’ll truly see the Beast
Rain and thunder on his head
And not of water but of lead.
Time will tell but I’m still hopeful
That his end will not be doleful,
After all I want that prize
Mr. Noble in full size.
I’ll wipe Obama’s smirk right off,
Rubbing his face into my troth!
So come on Kim give it a go
For us both the world to show
That our friendship’s good and strong
And my instincts weren’t so wrong.
After all what fun’s a rocket
When it so damages your pocket.

May you fall, so you may rise
May your horizons surpass your skies
May your future fill your eyes
May you make mistakes that make you wise
May your laughs outnumber your cries
May you wear your beauty, undisguised
May you stumble, so you may sympathize
May love take you by surprise
May you catch the light of fireflies
May your dreams flower to full size
May you hear your song - and harmonize.

Full-size toy made for kids, carved out of wood.
In stirrup, my eighty year old dad could
Not get atop the horse,
With playful eyes, of course.
He’s at it again, reliving childhood.
