Notes About The Poem

I Am Divine Light

I need not touch you, for you to feel my ire

Ash to ashes, results so lastingly dire
My split second actions bring change to the worlds landscape

Devastating, ruling continents find no escape
I am divine light
Vicious, day or night
Instantaneous when I make a path to ground
Notorious preamble, to bone chilling sound
Exquisite, ruthless, random, my path dominant destruction

Living energy, a natural marvel of seduction
Inconsequential is your desire to stop me
Given just one strike, does it fell a full-size tree
Hammering down rebirth by electrical spire
True, as Canada burns, I started that fire

Thank you very much! I wrote this after seeing the smoke fog that had settled outside the harbor of Duluth Minnesota. I found myself a bit awestruck how such a small force of nature could have such a massive impact on nature. Cordially A.S.
