                                            Raindrops on Roses

                                       Raindrops on roses glitter
                                       Like bright sapphire gems
                                       On foils of tender petals
                                              Amidst diadems
                                               Of a royal king
To offer on his troth day
                                             His favourite thing.

Premium MemberWays of Providence

Did I ever know that I would be born?
Did I decide my psyche and physique?
Why is a rose shielded by a sharp thorn?
Providence creates each creature unique.

I think of building a castle for me.
I end up assembling a thatched hut.
When I, like a sparrow, wish to be free
An unknown force, from within, keeps me shut.

Untimely rain signs on the summer breeze
Floods and droughts play tragedies unannounced.
Earthquakes shake the inmost shrines of the seas.
Divine verdict is wordlessly pronounced.

Events, like gift foils, wrap my existence.
Existence, in turn, is wrapped by Providence.

The Star

Glittering unhindered in the sky
Is the star’s glow at places high,
Lighting seas’ abysmal turmoils:
Nature’s eye that darkness foils.

But this glow’s sometimes short-lived:
Evil gods by such excessive shine miffed
May with clouds obfuscate the star
And its heavenly luminescence mar.

Yet whether in resplendent glow
Or by jealous clouds overcast,
A star will remain a star you know;
Beaming still or marred by dust.

My wonderful wife

My Wonderful Wife

Here — the one who bears the fruit of my loins.
Here — the cheerleader of my flawed bravado.
Here — the bearer of the yoke of my incessant brokenness.
Here — the moon that shines, irrespective of the season.
Here — the one true bridge between life and death.
Here — the one who foils the foul that confounds my soul.
Here — the woman who accepted the task of furthering my fate.

Cheers to you, my wonderful wife —
You are my anchor,
My light,
My forever.

                       ______________________________

I caught an enormous fish
and held him by the boat
midway to the water, caught in a damp pitch
with a tight hook in the front of his throat
he did not fight, just as I wish to devote.

Bowfin can occasionally be seen
leading the dwarf length of the eel
excess during low tide in between
they're twisting and swinging for real
wrapped in some foils of a green meal.

He grips the crag with twisted hands
an eagle soaring to the sky and sway
close to the sun in desolate lands
amidst the azure universe, may it fey
ready to sink and scoop its picked prey.

"Whatcha gonna do with that 6-pack, man?"
You could share it can by can.
I’d be happy if you ran
one past me as we tan,
stylin’ in the latest Ray-Ban.

You asked a question, and my thoughts began
	about what's beneath your tan.
My eyes 'neath these Ray-Bans scan
other eyes. It foils my plan.
	Wanna climb into my van?

The Genial Green

Sterling beauty, scintillating green,
The morning's bright.
The pulchritudinous scene,
Let us conserve this, why be mean?

The trees are a sight to see,
They give shade and beauty to you and me.
Birds and squirrels make their homes and hide,
Bunnies and deer live together side by side.

The lunch foils, the banana peel,
Thrown in bins, with green zeal.
Our Mother Earth is clean,
Let us conserve it why be mean?

We follow the 3 Rs rules,
Spreading awareness with our vigorous modules.
We throw our litter in the bin,
Because we know, it is a perishable sin.

Let us plant more trees
Let us not cut them down
Let us be more discreet
Let us not let mother earth frown

Save the lovely greenery.
greenery, greenery.
Save the lovely greenery.
Save it if you please.

Premium MemberIm a Chocolate Candy Holic

Chocolate? Sure. I like it several ways.
With lots of sugars, layered, and with glaze.
With caramel and peanut butter every day.
Add some mint also, I’ll eat it that way.

Truffles wrapped in fancy foils. Oh, yum!
Crunchy Nestle bar, yes, they are fun!
Chocolate I love in all kinds of environments.
I think I would like it wrapped around peppermints.

I am a chocolate-candy-holic you see.
I would share but I only have twenty-three.
Averaging five candy bars a night,
Most will be gone by Saturday night.

Premium MemberPopcorns

Seeds with butter or caramel
Beads of food, pops all in marvel
All pops and booms, scent that you smell
Popcorns of you, you chew and tell

Oil drops, olive or vegetable
Pops and hops, hot on the table
Salted or plain bops, rolls so well
Popcorns of you, you chew and tell

In boxes or foils, packed and sealed
Flavors of fun, kernels are peeled
Glass bowls or paper cups that sell
Popcorns of you, you chew and tell

Popcorns you keep and love so good
Freshness you peep, covered as food
Softness in you, you praise not quell
Popcorns of you, you chew and tell

Premium MemberWhy Some Choose To End It All

Could this be why one chooses to end it all?
We have all wondered about the whys,
Because life often throws one against a wall
A person can fall no matter how hard s/he tries.

We have all wondered about the whys
Thinking we knew all our loved one’s foils,
A person can fall no matter how hard s/he tries
Or how diligently s/he struggled with toils.

Thinking we knew all our loved one’s foils
We were never privy to what was going on inside
Or, how diligently s/he struggled with toils
When there was no one with whom to confide.

We were never privy to what was going on inside,
The full extent of one’s suffering and pain
When there was no one with whom to confide
They came to feel they had everything to gain.

The full extent of one’s suffering and pain
Finding no solace, life becomes a heartless abyss
They came to feel they had everything to gain
By choosing to leave this life for an eternity of bliss.

Finding no solace, life becomes a heartless abyss
Because life often throws one against a wall,
By choosing to leave this life for an eternity of bliss
Could this be why one chooses to end it all?

Premium MemberThe Sum

We are the sum of all say I, that intertwines our souls,
Accepting life, as we do take, the toils, and spoils, and goals.
These toils taught, we all must learn, as futures to provide,
To all our young, for everyone, their lives we help decide.

Decisions made, some with haste, and problems do occur,
Perhaps be wrong, perhaps be right, for all, we must endure.
Endurance is strength, and carries through, all of us with time,
Months will pass, the days are endless, but light will eventually shine.

As with all, this life we lead, we’re blocked as we do travel,
The wall before us, can be passed, through hidden doors unraveled,
Clues abound before our eyes, clearest of thought will unveil,
The time to be told we will not know, until wind grasps our sail.

Pushing forward through this life, with all its toils and spoils,
We gather strength every day, knowing of its foils,
But family sees, family knows, family cares and waits,
Our family is the sum, of all that we are made.

Premium MemberSpiritual Streaming

Has life ever been cheaper,
When doubting God grows steeper?
Love without justice perverts.
Justice sans morals subverts.
Despite the evil scheming,
God's spiritual streaming.

Doubt your doubts about the Lord.
Confessing them brings reward.
His past acts need reflection.
Remembrance foils defection.
His Providence revealing,
God's spiritual streaming.

So, wait for the end of it-
His faithfulness will acquit.
Remember, He's powerful,
Gathering up baskets full,
After thousands done feeding,
God's spiritual streaming.

Let the fools think they have won,
When God has only begun.
The wicked need to think twice,
Boasting about our demise.
Trusting Him is redeeming,
God's spiritual streaming.

When all has been said and done,
The Warrior-God, His Son,
Fulfills the Davidic reign,
And godliness is great gain.
All bow the knee esteeming,
God's spiritual streaming.

Starlings In Flight

After peppering a tower of light
the flight froths over.

A bloom of wings falling,
then,
the dark shower
turning as one.

Puddles of sky splash open
speckled by black flint heads.
Wings spume.

Better I don't know
if this dance is choreographed
or a grace
thrown from the very thing
that is flung.
Better a dazzled surmise.

I want only
to feel what those dark foils feel
as they carve out space,
then turn (seeking nothing),
into a spiraling carousel;
as a visual vowel of wonder.
