Premium Member Fit In

the crowd you hang with
is ‘sophisticated’
everyone sporting
new duds
new cars
new women in bars
my make-do threads
barely seem decent

you said I had to change
      as I don’t fit in

your friends toasting
the roasting
of competitors
I bore you with
my interests
my needs
my walks in parks
paths for self-doubt

you said I had to change
     as I don’t fit in

you said I had to change
my thoughts
my ways
if I wanted to win
in the relationship
to impress, dazzle
people I didn’t know
or wanted to know

you said I had to change
     'cause I don’t belong

yes, I have changed
a new dawn
a new dream
I no longer need you
to validate me
I now fit in
with myself

     you said
     I had to change

be as it may
I hate to burst
your lone
fragile bubble
but now

     YOU don’t fit in
     as I have changed

Gold Refined

She is doilies, lace and class
I am leather, oak and brass
But when she slips her hand in mine
Together, we are gold refined.

Premium Member how do you know a truck will fit into that hole

My dog dug a hole large enough to push my husband’s F-150 into.
How do you know?
Because Poochie pushed Richie’s truck in there.

At least he apologized, right?
He is a golden.
I think they have manners.

Not yet.
He disappeared on Wednesday
The day after it happened.

Premium Member If it ain't broke, don't fit it

Why try to fix something that isn't broke? Why try to mend a structure that is fine. What is the point in fixing something that is fine. I don't understand why you keep messing with my mind. Am I not a perfect being that you made? What is not wrong with this blade? Why can't you leave things the way they are? And make life easy thus far. What is wrong with the way I be. Do you find something wrong in me? Why can't you leave things along? Until when necessary they come home. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Premium Member Three Rings Entice a Perfect Fit

Each ring alone
too big to fit,
slips on finger,
disclosing its excess.

Too tight the hold,
the urge to control.
Too much the hope
to fill the void,
the more it squeezes,
the embrace to yield.

But, when entwined and combined,
the three rings loop and interface
to make a perfect fit for finger.
A trinity in harmony.

Premium Member MY OWN SHOE FIT

Life came in one shoe fit
Determined to live and not quit
Made the wrong choices
Managed to overtake and make right
Achieved of value in knowing how establish
No question needed with answer
Fighter of life with no surrender spirit
No need to say sorry
There is no worry
Some would say merit while others would say punk
Call it what you will
I understand myself, but do you understand yourself
My name is counted among
A man higher than I knows it
Believe what you will
Know myself better than anybody else
Baby, I thought you understood
Must understand yourself before analyzing another
Words you say draws me away
You are trying to convince me to stay
Standing on principle
Words said are reality
Don’t pity me, but pity yourself
Made up for it in life in believing who I am having a purpose
Tomorrow everlasting
Shoe fit
Don’t try to fit in it
Don’t know what I gone through in life
Standing and continuing to stand
You are no longer in dem and
My shoes have walked on
Be gone

Premium Member A crown fit for a clown

There once was a clown
who paraded around town
he thought the world of himself
and liked everything to be top shelf

He bought himself a mannequin
he married her no panickin'
soon his humour was delirious
his motives as mysterious

He found himself a throne
and claimed it as his own
he put a crown upon his stead
to cover his bald head

He started waving a magic wand
expecting everyone to respond
his orders grew bizarre by the hour
when he demanded a brand new tower

They moved his throne up to the top
hoping the insanity would stop
but no it seemed it wasn't to be so
then tumbling down they made him go.

What do you fear?

It's a fresh day
To play in a new way
To convey each light ray
More pray, no delay, fair pay
We stay where we lay
What can I say?

Stand up, quit your sit
Take a breath, rest a bit
Ensure you stay fit
Get ready for the hit
Grab your jumping kit
Fall not into pit

As he'd walk into your block
In seconds, he'll knock
This folk you name clock
Needing a talk but you lock
It'll mock you into shock
You can't stalk the stock

You can water the seed
And extract all the weed
Indeed growing at speed
But when you succeed
Never mislead this creed
We need to impede the greed

As it sheds its slough
My skin is no longer rough
No batter, nor pastry, just dough
So chewing ain't been tough
This stuff? Calling it enough
You laugh until you cough

Step clear in your gear
Hear this, oh my dear
Here the end is near
This day, this month, this year
Every tear will disappear
What do you fear?

Premium Member Not so sure about the combo

I'm caramel, gooey and sometimes saucy.
Sweet but sometimes salty.
Everybody knows it ~ not sure if you do

I'm still figuring out what you are
because once I've seen your prickly side
I keep picturing you as jalapeno

To be quite honest ~ I can't help but think
we might not be the ideal combination

Sometimes, a mismatch leads to a happy life missed
By Author

We crossed the illusion of marriage hand in hand
To his father’s tune and marching band
He opened the doors and curtains to our life
And was beaming proud of his son and wife
The dad presented and gifted our beloved trail
With riches that go beyond the grandest scale
Yet, with all the dad's helping hand and sincerity
Our marriage was two faced with disparity
Why was there a facade with all his prosperity

Where does she fit???

On the bench is where she will sit
What's going on she just doesn't get
Been tender loyal loving and the rest
Making sure things are at there best
From outside others seem to judge
Yet to help no one will budge
Thinking that she is not safe alone
She should be in some kind of community home
Into their life style she once fit
But now that she is older there's less give a sh#&
She no longer cares about looks ego or pride
But she's still living hasn't yet died
So don't think she's worried what others think or say
Doesn't need drama would rather just walk away
She may need a little hand now and then
Something we all need in the beginning and in the end !!!

Premium Member Dropped Stitch

Never flush
not tight fitting
a little bit out
not quite sitting
right with the world,
I always was an odd bit of knitting,
two plain stitches instead of purled
