Notes About The Poem

My last poem used the same end rhyme more than once, which I did not realize was disallowed, so I made a few changes to those lines!

For Hilo Poet's Complete Singular Monorhyme - Rhyming End Word Cannot Be Repeated - Revise If Necessary Poetry Contest

A Strange Phenomenon - Revised to fit rule

A tickling in the nose that likes to tease
is the strange phenomenon - the sneeze,
but sneezes in succession cause unease,
especially accompanying a wheeze.
Think of an ACHOO while on a trapeze,
reaching for two arms - hanging by your knees!

A sneeze has force of 80 miles an hour. Geez!
What viruses escape into the breeze?
So if one day a winter's cold should seize
possession of the chest 'neath your chemise -
when I visit, keep a hanky handy, please.
At least "God bless you" beats cutting the cheese!

80 miles an hour .. WOW ! Loved it Andrea. You used the rhyme wonderfully in context not just throwing words in because they rhymed, and it made me smile. All the components of a great poem. GL my friend.

Hey Andrea. In regards to your comment on The Ocean Ghosts, I thought about leaving the soup, so I erased most poetry- but then, I couldn't go through with it- because I felt lost and unhappy and alone without this site- I am sorry if it hurt you to delete them. Thanks for all your support. <3
