Change
The word itself meaning to modify or alter itself.
Whether for better or worse is factored in by choices we make
Change is inevitable

You will just have to teach yourself
one poor female victim at a time
for kissing is a dangerous occupation
for adolescents and virgins.
Angles and shapes have to be factored in
at lightning speed
before the plunge is undertaken.
The neck must be adjusted to height and
the trajectory of the pursed lips meet
as a natural occurrence
like two butterfly wings
brushing each other in flight.
On first dates
short-sighted rhino clashes
must be avoided at all cost.
Noses and teeth
will always get in the way somehow
just a fact.
In time, with much trial and error
the young will get the hang of it
and it's rather nice
in an often sloppy sort of way.
Eventually tongues are employed
in strange animalistic tasks
that they were never designed for
but in the heat of the moment
eating is often mistaken for kissing.
Go forth confidently then
you young men, but always remember
"though a kiss might be gentle
and oh so elemental
diamonds are a girl's best friend."

THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

Children will generally meet your expectations
Especially when they feel loved and accepted,
When feelings are factored into many situations
When with their parents they feel connected.
They certainly deserve a cogent explanation,
Without anger and threats being interjected,
As to why their parents expect a cessation
Of the type of unacceptable behavior detected.

He had tried hard
She never showed interest
He would impress her
Run errands
So what if it meant
A little puffing and panting
"She takes my breath away"-
His oft heard refrain
Hope was
One day it would all pay
Come to fruition
Both together
Happy, breathless, satiated
Alas!
He never factored
The pandemic in his plans
Now, in hospital
Literally gasping
Word reaches her
She makes an appearance
Gazing from the glass window
Did he turn his head?
Did he look at her?
Did she listen?
Her eyes moist
His painful smile
His faint whisper
One last time
'Breathlessly yours'

In Calgary, they're in for a real deep freeze
With the wind chill factored in, temps will approach -50
That's not civilized
Staying indoors is advised
Here in Toronto, temps are more moderate at -30

However we came into being,
Commenting on anything and everything,
I am sure was not factored in,
When it came time to give us a brain.
When it became obvious that our brains were about to implode,
Computers appeared on the scene,
And one would have thought the need, to comment on everything,
We know nothing about would be reduced,
And our brains would resume normal service,
But no, we seem to have ramped up the comments,
Which now, carry hate, which is another monkey on our back,
Which in turn gets more Knee jerk reactions from those,
We attempt to destroy with words as sharp as any knife.
For those without the urge to be the fastest on the draw,
To shoot off comments til their brain starts to haemorrhage,
It is your duty to send out messages of Love and Hope,
Before any more brains start imploding.

My fourth concussion
and first skull fracture
were my known’s destruction.
Was nearly a decade when
hindsight saw grief factored
into the garbled map
where I tried to track
the me I yesterday knew.
Cognitive skills impaired,
career derailed, finances
math whipped, emotions
and thoughts just blurred passes
as headaches score and scar.
My acceptance bends and bleeps ~~~
how to befriend pain’s trend …..
when my life's held in its reign?
It’s hard enough finding my name
behind all an accident changed.

A friend passed on – not someone close
But someone I adored.
A service in her honor
I would never have ignored.
So when I heard, belatedly,
That there had been one planned,
In three days’ time, I reached out
To the person in command.
Explaining in an email
That I wanted to attend,
I thought for sure an invitation
She would thus extend.
Instead, in her reply she wrote
That there was just no room.
She’d add me to the wait list
With some others, I presume.
If she who’s being honored
Were alive, there is no doubt,
There’s no way anybody
Wanting in would be left out.
I understand a wait list
Must be started on occasion,
But not when someone’s death
Is factored into the equation.

He wore a navy turtleneck
And man, he looked so cute,
An observation, I believe,
Nobody would dispute.
I can’t recall my outfit -
Don’t know if it factored in -
But on that night, our lives together
Somehow did begin.
Today we both remember
How our smiles were set aglow
On that February seventh
Forty-three short years ago.

A system that pushes,
The boundary of memory,
Left me feeling useless,
With a future of drudgery,
Started off confused,
Not knowing a direct path,
Defeated and abused,
Sorted in the rough,
Initiative gathered as junctures passed,
Self-education, knowledge compounds,
Passion factored, failures do not last,
Reaching aspiration, a purpose profound,
Life follows no curriculum nor itinerary,
Perseverance and patience are life's best referee.

Predicting the future is an interesting possibility
So think of what things may for the world to see
Let's have a bash at what might be known
People will have implants for mobile phones
Public transport will be electric and robotic
With predetermined routes, no driver and myopic
Babies from the womb will be completely planned
With diseases factored out for women and men
There will be no coal fired industry
With wind and water power for all factories
Television will be with no need of a screen
In 3D holograph as life like as it can be seen
We will all live in apartments without owning them
Airliners will go to space to travel at supersonic speed when
The world will continue to shrink in how they are seen
Countries will be less important as companies greater being.

Polly is in politics
Convinced herself she's great
Though it's tough to find benevolence
Whilst sifting through the hate
Polly has a message
Polly has a creed
The only thing Polly does not have
A strong defense towards greed
So Polly eats the pill
She drinks elixir too
Now Polly's good for nothing
Except reaping rights from you
As long as Polly's seat's secure
Her thoughts are sure to be impure
She'll levy taxes, flex her might
Your first born is probably in her sights
The lobbyists control her
She's their girl more than ours
Standing tall as their lieutenant
As the people fight the powers
Now totalitarian in nature
Absolute power is her goal
The only thing more wretched
Is the state of Polly's soul
Polly wanted to enact change
To love something she grew
What Polly never factored
Money has agendas too
A fallen political player
Someone fresh at any rate
How quickly a people's champion
Became an enemy of the states

Fallen upon knees in ashes of pipe dreamer’s infatuation
chimera's collective stardust reigning through macrocosms,
world spins counterclockwise unrealistically bound hiatus
stained glass mirrors fracture in rhetorical opposition,
earthly beings condensed to mere commonplace residue
threadbare allegiances written on worn out constitutions,
idly spinning cogwheels from premier breath to closer exhale
angels hark intensely attempting to assuage inevitability
whilst calm winds yield to maelstroms' imitative gesticulations
forfeitures of human activity sacrificed in sins' germinal vices
banal platitudes reinforcing an elusively unoriginal existence,
dancing 'round the fire tween inquisitions' reluctant commendations
preparedness on conventional suspension of ill-advised reiterations,
awaiting surrender 'neath an incoherent vigil's unorthodox rite of
incarnate passages' disconnected resolve mid consequential rationale
thereupon...
timelessness is but a variable symbol
factored in mankind's hallucinatory prayers
